one cool thing about having the sound tube is that if you ever did go supercharged, you could use the sound tube for extra supercharger whine in the cabin.

It’s not fake if the sound is just being transmitted as pressure waves from the airbox to the cabin.

If its literally a tube straight from the intake piping to the cabin, there's nothing fake about that at all! I've always enjoyed good intake sound over loud exhaust; you still get the good sounds without having to annoy other people. And as someone else said, it would be a very handy feature to have if you went supercharged!

Man I love the sound my car makes from the cabin. Im actually considering not getting a CAI because they delete the sound tube. At least the Roush one does.

I did soundtube delete and the slight 3K resonant drone disappeared.
Now all sound comes from the rear.

removing the literal fake ecoboost sound coming through the speakers i could see... but the sound coming through the tube in the GT is just the natural (real) engine sound lol. why? Do you also think driving with the windows down is fake sound because you can hear the exhaust better?

My dad had a cobra when i was a kid and it had stock exhaust but an aftermarket intake ....i was always surprised at how awesome jt sounded ehen he would clean the filter. I remember being in the car seat in the back and havingthe car fill full of smoke while he was lighting up the back tires...ive been a car guy ever since.

I agree those shifts look like theyre almost too smooth! I drive an mt82 and i love being able to control how much kick i have in a shift when the clutch bites down again. Yeah im a hair slower but dont give a single shit😂

I dig the sound tube. One of the things that sold me on the car was how awesome it sounds IN the car. I didn’t know how they did it but cool to know now. I have Active Exhaust tho 🤷🏻♂️

only the ecoboost has fake sound. the GT sound tube is natural induction sound just redirected into the cabin.

Doesn’t affect the exhaust at all. Just interior noise
it makes it sound quieter inside so its a big no no imo.
you dont have to buy anything,,, just take off the tube on the intake and and put some plastic wrap over the hole and put the tube back on

If you don't plug the hole you'll be allowing dust and moisture in the cabin, I don't think that would be any good.
I'm pondering retrofitting one of these into my car so that I gst a better sound in the cabin without having to put obnoxiously loud mufflers on the car to bother everyone else around me. I've always ran loud mufflers but if someyhing like this sound tube can sound good in the cabin without mufflers, I'm all for it.

I put the borla attak on my 2020 gt and it was loud on the inside under acceleration, after removing the sound tube and adding a cold air intake. I was bewilder at how much quieter it actually was. I thought I did something wrong because normally adding a cold air intake increases the sound of the exhaust.
I have a 2021 GT, and removed the sound tube. I have the Borla Atak, a CAI, Headers, High Flow Cats, and an H Pipe. --- Once I got a custom tune it drastically changed the way the car sounded for the better. Prior to a custom tune, I used a canned tuned via a handheld tuner and compared to non tune - canned tune to custom tune, the custom tune really woke the car up i.e. It is now tuned for the mods utilizing better parameters which in turn heightened the quality of sound indirectly. Food for thought (Tune or Custom Tune).

I've done this delete. For your information it's a lot easier to access the fire wall nut from underneath. And to replace the grommet.
You can also unscrew the gas pedal and plug it from the inside.

@@JVette01 nah man, your car has the stock airbox. You explained it well for guys with cars like yours. The CAI is overrated IMO.
That’s why I’m keeping the stock box for now haha. Maybe in the future when I get tuned I might get a CAI
@@JVette01 E85 tune it with the stock Airbox. DARRYL Wengyrd, Palm Beach Dyno or Lund. Can't go wrong with any of those .

I just remove my sound tube. Took awhile to get used to it. But I love it better removed.
Did you just yank on it too? I’m about to install Corsa carbon fiber cold air intake and they have you take off the sound tube but in the video they had you take off that screw instead of just yanking it

Yesterday my stupid brother purchased a 2020 5.0 and we drove it 900 miles home. We didn't notice this noise until we were sitting at a quiet gas station at night for a minute. It's wretched. Thanks for the video! I wanted to go to the hardware store today but was told no, my bro is going to order a real kit. At least it's going to be quick and easy to install. Thanks again!
