The person who needs to learn the most from this call is Bombay Shaving Co....Why do you even need to pitch the products so hard when it's a discussion forum with such experts. Had this been the case, let all other members bring their product for display. Not everything that displays sells. Its also about choosing the right distribution channel
@thebarbershopwithshantanu6670 Hi, I am a student at IIM-K. Having missed this wonderful razorpreneur opportunities, I look forward to work with your team on promoting your products at our campus through our E-Cell event.
Great initiative, however the link does not land on the actual registration form but instead on your website. Is that intentional, might lead to a poor UX for potentials registrants. Better to include a link to a website to know more about the products and actual link to the form. Apologies, if I’m missing something.
For a celebrated founder to bring a panel of veterans and be critiqued so openly and then put it up online for everyone to learn from it..goat move right there. Massive respect to Shantanu.
Shantanu you are a star, the way you handled the criticism/feedback of your pitch speaks volumes about how good a student you are. For a minute i felt offended, when the rest of panel teared your pitch apart, but you maintained your composure. That was amazing and truly entrepreneurial behaviour from your side. And the fact that you allowed this clip to be a part of the entire video of youtube tells how focussed you are on your mission and dont care how the world might take this. Wish you and your brand a lot of success in years to come. - Engineer + MBA
Suggestion - Pls display the names of the guests and their job titles at regular intervals during the episode. The reason being, they’re not “publicly known” to all viewers. Currently you only show it at the beginning of the show for a couple of seconds. If someone misses it, then we have to pause the episode, rewind to the beginning and then come back. This may be a pet peeve of mine, but when my kids walk up to ask who are these people, it feels odd to say “hold on, let me rewind.” 😊 Plus showing their names from time to time during the episodes will help remember some of the key points that I’d make a mental note of.
Vani’s razor-sharp deep rooted focus on PRODUCT versus MARKETING is somewhere a massive display of her high IQ, brilliant education, and supreme rationality. A trait I have noticed in a lot of South Indians somehow and I feel it a function of her background and upbringing. Lots to learn from her. We just simply say “good products always win”. Vani means it.
To those saying Tanmay has nothing to offer to this video, His name in the title automatically brings more clicks on the video regardless if he has as much experience or as much to contribute to the discussion. I bet 4 out 5 people may not know who all of these panel members are but everyone knows Tanmay
Worked in Crompton under Shantanu Khosla's leadership. Man this guy is as always pin point on consumer demands . Sharp, aggresive and passionate . Was really fortunate to work under him.
Hi Shantanu, I patiently listened to all guests. And after almost 2 hours of patience I am giving you my real feed back on this razer as first time user. No matter how you sell or market it at the end of they it should perform that it is supposed to do. I used it twice on a 2 day stubble and a week long beard and I must say it did not do the job. It was not smooth, movement of razor was not clean and it did not cut well in a single flow. I had to do 2 or 3 pass. And this a direct feedback from a junior alumni of 2012 batch of your alma mater.
Shantanu, loved the way you took feedback at the end. Unless this was scripted, you were pretty much put on the spot to pitch your range, and you were a sport to take it on in front of cameras. It's really hard to bring your A game to a simulated pitch, just like it's really hard to make a mock presentation to your colleague in the same way you'd make a real presentation to a VP. The feedback is obviously good and on point, and drives home the point of what makes a good pitch, but kudos to you for being such a sport!
Something amazing is happening in india’s startup ecosystem. And Shantanu one of the pioneers in educating the young india about how to become an entrepreneur.
Best strategy, to interlink babershop and bombay shaving concepts....capturing the most trendy interests all together under one umbrella...well interweaved 👏
Great bunch to have around the table together and to listen to their experiences. They actually HAD the time to sit for so long and chat! Worth a watch for anyone needs a worthy insight to marketing in India! Thank you for this!
Initially it felt like a typical MBA Group Discussion but amongst industry veterans with Shantanu moderating and changing gears when points became repetitive 😂 It eventually picked up really well with interesting stories from each of them. Definitely gonna grab this razor for my next shave!
I just appreciate and truly admire the idea what “Bombay Shaving Company” has put out in their world and it has made itself in the frontier of people’s heads. ❤🎉
Baki sab thik hai.. I am just 2min down the timeline and I am convinced to write this. "Tanmay" yes Tanmay.. bhai ptani Kab se relevant hai is universe mein. Kuch toh alg krta hai yeh aadmi..hatts off!!!
Shantanu would absolute love if you invite Renuka Ramnath to your show. She is such an in startup ecosystem. Absolutely loving your episodes. Keep going my man.
@Shantanu, On Vani's point @1:53:15 and about range selling. An interesting theme could be building on the father-son relationship. For the first shave, the son has the entry level razor and to gift the razor to your dad, we have a customised one. Grea content boss! Keep going
Amazing video Shantanu!!! Watched it to the last minute, Thanks for being so vulnerable in front of a Sales veteran which helped the audience get amazing insights. You are amazing!!!
The only line i took about sales from this discussion was : "selling is less about you giving and more about you providing". I wonder why the Shantanu was focussed on giving and presenting rather than providing. All of Tanmay's points was around working backward from the identity and then providing for it.
i actually liked the original Shantanu pitch, made me want to buy the next age razor. The Pitch version 2.0 actually made me feel as a consumer that i am being manipulated and fooled rather than being told the benifits and being allowed to choose or reject the product myself. But maybe its just me
A more humbling starting job is a eureka Forbes sales rep back in early 90’s carrying a 8kg demo kit and being door slammmed and or shooed away by a security person in colaba, walkeshwar and peddar road … 😇 perfect job to get hernia
On the contrary I loved his pitch, he made the pitch functional. Shaving is not a experience that I look forward to, I just want to get done with it, because its inconvenient but I have to shave, so my main concerns are is it good for my skin, does it protect me from cutting. Shantanu's pitch covered all the things I care about, its a different product from a car, where you could play on story, emotion and aspirations. I loved that pitch!
Pitch: Your son is turning man, he just told you about a girl he likes, you want to make sure he gets that happiness, give him an S3 and boost his confidence without hurting his gentle skin. you already got the dad of the century award, but what about you? get an S6 and feel the man within you, still alive and kicking, stronger than ever.
Shantanu, I'd buy anything you put out. I've been using the Defender for grooming(yes, my girlfriend, now wife, introduced me to that razor), i've been using the Beard Oil, the Beard Butter and the Beard Comb along with the Bombay Shaving Company Trimmer. Looking forward to this Sensi Range! Let it rip mate! Big Love and Full Power!
I felt Every word is a gem. A great discussion. I just have a small request, due to the voice quality is a bit unclear at some moments, and I couldn't gasp a few words, kindly provide subtitles if you can. Nikhil's podcast's sound is much better.
Santanu you should focus on the part where you talk about the easy clean part... its a hustle to clean the little hairs sticking the razor after shaving
Now this has to be taught as well!! No wonder the the “Razorprenor” went out of business for not being able to accumulate enough razing where it was needed!!

Tanmay is the only and most useless person here. Great episode though!

Feels true 😂

Bandha joke maar maar ke serious ban gaya hai!

I have never seen him this silent in any video

I think that segment was designed like that. Most likely the pitch was written by an intern so that all these points could be made
Being a Sales Guy for almost 4 years in this field. This is by far the best podcast I've seen on this niche. Loved it 👏
Thank u :)
@@shantanudeshpandeare you the shantanu of the podcast? If so then can you help me with some of my questions ❓⁉️

Its a popular western mindset as well.

his role in the last part shows his presence. Great marketing mind.
This is almost revolutionary and a very bold step in content creation, education and marketing. Pretty cool

5 minutes into the episode and I already know that I will need a pen and a notebook to absorb the whole podcast. Great work Shantanu. Appreciate it.
I second that..💯
Are you an MBA student Or work a corporate job and what job is it

The longest podcast I ever watched, but every minute was super insightful and worth watching !!! Thanks.
What I learnt in one hour here was worth one-week executive course at an IIM. Great food for thought by the panelists and Shantanu himself.
Great to hear that!
Something amazing is happening in india’s startup ecosystem. And Shantanu one of the pioneers in educating the young india about how to become an entrepreneur.
Pleasantly surprised at the honest feedback to Shantanu’s sales pitch! And kudos to Shantanu to take it so gracefully!

Tanmay is so eloquent and Shantanu Khosla bringing in his years of experience to this video. Truly a MASTERCLASS
Loved Arjun's approach of Product=Experience in today's era
I just appreciate and truly admire the idea what “Bombay Shaving Company” has put out in their world and it has made itself in the frontier of people’s heads. ❤🎉
Pure gold mine!
Absolutely loved the discussion. Looking forward to more such discussions in future

As Zakir Khan once said about him! "Woh Admi ashwathama hai, kabhi Marta hi nahi hai"
A lot of learning from this podcast, was not only on entrepreneur .
It was the on the approach style
Shantanu would absolute love if you invite Renuka Ramnath to your show. She is such an in startup ecosystem. Absolutely loving your episodes. Keep going my man.
"And the first result is Onlyfans" hahah...Tanmay perfectly encompasses the vibe of a successful backbencher

Never before have I learned so much about business and marketing than I did from this podcast. Loved it!
vani kola is the star of the show, love her authenticity and smartness!
Amazing video Shantanu!!! Watched it to the last minute, Thanks for being so vulnerable in front of a Sales veteran which helped the audience get amazing insights. You are amazing!!!
Arjun was the most genuine...would listen to him for hrs
Finally! Investors that understand that the pitch is beyond TAM!
This is fantastic and such insightful content..it's like a semester of learnings from Bschool condensed into 2hrs...
This is the best podcast of sales.
Thanks for the great lessons Shantanu, we would like you to see you grow along with Indians becoming middle class economy in the next decade.

Pure Gold! 💰Always been a fan of your conversations, Shantanu, but this one is special :)

I loved that pitch!
Bhat School of Business and Economics!
Amazing discussion. You’ve gained a new subscriber Shantanu 👍
Excellent work 👍👍
As a technical Sales person, genuinely loved the podcast.👌🙌👏👏
Infinite learnings from this. Such diverse backgrounds having nuanced POVs yet converging into a common theme
Most of the time Shantanu was like a parent in a PTM. 😂.. but what insights kudos to the whole panel and thank you
Thank you. Amazing conversations and insights.
After watching this I realised How brilliant is Nikhil Kamath ...😂😂😂
Everything boils down to only 1 thing at the end... Psychology of the customer...
It's truly a masterclass, thanks Shantanu for this !
Less analytical maybe, but a very passionate set of people
Iss interview toh mujhe laga mein Sales mein chala jau! Very informative video ❤

Amazing podcast Shantanu 👏
You have my respect @Shantanu
This podcast is really a Gem
You took feedback and repitch, this is not a potcast, this is a PRACTICAL podcast, I liked it.
The edit is what made the second pitch better.
Great initiative. Please continue, loved and learnt a lot.
Please bring selling course shantanu, and give us more such strategy where we can learn lot of insights.
Tanmay helped me a lot in building my BRAND ALWAYS GRATEFUL ❤
Great podcast!! So much to learn 🙌🙏
Thanks for making such wonderfully discussions. You can also continue doing the franchises as well.
Kudos to shantanu to take negative feedback positively
Great content❤❤❤ we need more like this masterpiece😊😊😊😊
Amazing episode. Thanks!
I felt Every word is a gem. A great discussion.
I just have a small request, due to the voice quality is a bit unclear at some moments, and I couldn't gasp a few words, kindly provide subtitles if you can.
Nikhil's podcast's sound is much better.
Great content, loads to learn ❤Keep it up brother.
Tanmay spitting absolute fire 🔥 bro he should’ve charged for this 😂

Amazing Podcast THANK YOU Shantanu for this one :)
A chef or a Hotel GM is missing from this very good discussion....
Lots of learning.. ✨
ARY OF SELLING !
✨✨
22:10 😂 tanmay dropping jokes. Members chose either not to reciprocate or didn’t know what only fans is.
Except for shantanu
1:01:46 - frame shown for the first time
Tanmay trying to intervene in the GD with his one-liners, 22:20 the fist result is onlyfans
Selling a concept is hardest, like Timeshare, you can sell what you can look at and feel, how would you sell something you cant experience in anyway?
Learn entrepreneurship 🔥
Now this has to be taught as well!! No wonder the the “Razorprenor” went out of business for not being able to accumulate enough razing where it was needed!!
Set for Friday night.
Great episode!
However, I feel that the audio quality can be better.
For a global audience, as much as there is mostly English, would be nice to also translate whenever there is Hindi being spoken.
Didn't find a link to order a personalized razor.
Loved this whole c0nversqtion ❤🎉
