*IMPORTANT!!!!!!!*
An important part of this method that I forgot to mention in this video, is that sometimes, if you're unlucky enough to have a fortress more than 600-700 blocks from your spawn (especially on bedrock), and you can't find a fortress traveling along the x axis at z = 230, try increasing your z by increments of 200 (z = 400, z, = 600, etc.) and try traveling along the x axis at those values of Z.
This way you'll cover a lot more ground, and have a higher success rate.

If I go in the nether for the first time at for example the cords 2000 -1000 or something random like that would I still have to go to those exact cords or can I travel I the direction u said

I have ran for two hours in hope to find a nether fortress but didn't saw any. Then I watched your video. So I first made my way to Z230 and when I was at Z207 I saw a nether fortress right there. If I wouldn't have watched this video I probably wouldn't find any nether fortress in years in the world I'm currently playing on. Thx so much. Now I can finally take blaze rods so I can make my way to the end and kill the dragon so I can get the experiance so I finally can enchant all my stuff and also build a enderman farm. I just found a Nether Fortress thanks to your video. Thank you so much I played Minecraft here and there before and could never find a Nether Fortress. It was so frustrating cause you need Blaze Rods for Eyes of Ender to progress so not finding the structure can really stun your progression and sometimes kill your motivation to play or encourage you to just cheat in the items you need. I wish Mojang made the structures easier to find.

just tested it out on bedrock on a few random seeds. most of the time the first fortress i come across is around 1 to 2k blocks either way. seems java stuff spawns better but 230 is a good way to find stuff without using chunkbase.

@@gbake6080im super late but basically the reason why this video works is because nether fortress’ always spawn kn the edge of a quad or a few chunks, so traversing the edges of them will quarantee a fortress

It really worked out first try for me. Z=230 and Y=70 and then in positive X direction for about 200 blocks and then it was right under me
Works very well! Found a bastion after 5 mins, 5 mins later I found a nether fortress. I used to spend ages searching for one until I found this!
I found too many bastions while doing this, which means it works. After going back to -x axis, i found a fortress.
(Bastions and fortresses have the same generation loactions)

Just did this. Worked!! Found it 550 blocks away from my nether entrance. Just stay on Z230 or Z-230 at y65-70 and head straight keeping Z on 230 or -230. It freakin works just like he said! Wow. Great now I feel like I cheated but happy cuz I have my fortress and blaze rods. Even got a with skull while I was there!

So I have been looking for a fortress for about 2 weeks now, And I to watched a lot of video's ,Then I stumbled on this video, and was like Sure why not, lets try it. . .
After 10 FN minutes, I dig into a large chamber and, there it is . . . I just stood there with a piglin looking at it in disbelief. It felt like I just walked in on somebody eating and they just look at me and hi, whats up , That's how this felt in that moment.

So basically you are saying to do a grid search with a distance between lines of roughly 2x your render distance

It does sound insane, but unless you're very lucky, it's still alot faster (and especially safer) to search this way rather than running randomly around the nether seaeching.
i didnt find the fortress the same way but it did help me with a general plan on how to look, i found mine on around the 500, 70, 170 coordinates

I had the best FIRST trip to the nether. I placed my first nether portal in some random world location because I didn’t want it close to my home…I step out on the other side…and I notice I’m in a corner room of a red bricked building. Had no idea what it was…but started killing things and grabbing items before I had died so I could run home and examine my loot. I had two dozen or more blade rods, a bunch of soul sand/soil and Netherwart. I was like a little kid when I realized I accidentally acquired everything to make beautiful potions from them on! 😂

I’ll have you know that this method has officially worked for me personally, though it took quite awhile as all I could find were bastions, at least natural terrain means setting up another portal won’t be a problem
This works well for bastions too, making it really helpful to get that pesky netherite upgrade template!
for me i just go in an isolated spot far away, lower my render distance, go into 1.19 version and get netherite

dang, why had i not done this sooner.
Easy. Just take your survival world. Create a copy with commands on. Go to the nether. Then use /locate. Then save the coords.

Hahaha! After several attempts using the grid method, I tried this and sure enough, led right to a bridge that connected to a fortress.
I'm playing PS4 Bedrock. The fortress spawned on -230. It also ended up taking more than 700 blocks from my starting point, but it definitely worked.
@@peppep8738 I carefully bridged from height level 70. It took a ton of blocks, several back tracks to go get more blocks, and I had to dig straight through some nether rack formations and one basalt formation, but I got there. I luckily already had full nether gear with protection 4 on all of it (this was prior to the 1.20 update), so I wasn't too worried about mobs.
My suggestion if you want to use the bridge method: make sure to use a block that won't be destroyed by Ghasts like stone, don't use nether rack. Also make sure to always check your surroundings for mobs, and be ready to patch lava pools when digging through land formations. I made my bridge 4 blocks wide with rails for extra safety (again, I used a TON of blocks), but that is a commitment that not everyone is going to be comfortable with. You could also always do it in Peaceful mode, but I like the challenge of the mobs being present. And my biggest advice = embrace the grind.
If you're going for a speed run, the bridge method isn't ideal, and you should probably tame a strider and walk the lava pools. instead. But if you're not afraid of the grind, gather some blocks, gear up, and devote to the cause.
@@peppep8738 I'll try my best to explain it:
First I am playing on PS4 Bedrock, and on bedrock your coordinates will appear on your screen in the upper left hand corner as 3 sets of numbers = x axis, y axis, and z axis = ex: 34 70 11 (this was my actual spawn point in the nether). What you want to do is move your z axis to either 230, or -230. So for me my coordinates from the nether portal were 34 70 -230. From there I bridged for 720 blocks before I found the fortress. So my fortress coordinates were 754 70 -230.
Mind you this was also my third attempt, because I tried to do the same at 34 70 230, but gave up both ways at 500 blocks (534 70 230, and -434 70 230).
In another reply you said it sounds tedious AF, and you're right, it is. After my first 2 attempts I was ready to try to go back to the grid method, which is also tedious AF. I also contemplated searching the lava floor on a strider again, but that didn't net me any results the first 3 times either. So I decided to give this "z axis 230" method one more shot and devote a 1000 blocks if need be, and nearly shat myself when the fortress finally came into view.
Now I don't know if this method will always work, but it did work for me, as well as others. I wish you the best of luck.

The best part of Minecraft is there is no wrong way to play, and sometimes you just have to figure out what works best for you.
Just try not to get too frustrated if things aren't going your way at first. I'm sure you'll find one eventually. All you need is just a little patience.

I think 400 x 400 chunks which tesselate around spawn so they form one 800 x 800 square with 4 nether fortresses anyway if you went to 230 200 youd be in the middle of one quadrant if you went to -200 200 youd be in another quadrat which i believe is guaranteed spawn, i dont know how they spawn beyond the 800 x 800 square sorry

Dude... I really doubted this but when I tried it I got it on my second try!! I first went to 600, 70, -230 then I found a fortress on the way to -600, 70 -230!!!

Edit: the foretress was alr looted because I play multiplayer, so I tried it the other way and kept the x constant at 230, still worked, because there are 432x432 grids of space in the nether, and 1 nether structure will spawn per space

First i wnt to -230 on z and then i went towards negative x and around -600 on x i found a bastion then i turned back and went mining towards positive x and here I am in the fortress

I have no idea how this works but I’m guessing it’s because you are traveling a far distance in a plus shape which covers a lot of distances plus people usually separate the nether into quadrants where different structures spawn
