I wanna see the coverage on the back of one of those tiles. Half by half trowel is so much more work than necessary. You can achieve much better collapsed ridges and thinset coverage as a result using a half by quarter and use less effort.
The real problem with a 1/4 x 1/2 besides from not being readily available, is they in the course of an hour or two of installing the notches tend to fill in and comb less and less. The particular trowel in the video has been opened up to 9/16 x 9/16 with 7/16 between ridges. Coverage is good otherwise I would have went to the 9/16 x 3/4 "U" notch.
The Issues with Euro Notch trowels either the slant notch or the wavy notch is the danger of nicking a wire on the schluter ditra heat. I have used both in the past and they do a good job.
Wouldn’t that just be large format? We just did 2ft by 4ft harringbone the other day and thats more what I’d consider very large, hah! Small difference. I just dont use the suction cups until I hit that size, just butter and drop em in! I also use half by half
I like strata mat in this application I needed heat and waterproof so Ditra heat it is. I clip all large format as SOP and these are 16x32". Thanks for the comment.
I don't understand Maxiflex gloves are the best you can get, as are Festool Gecko's, Maybe I cheaped out buying ProKnees, or the Raimondi Fido? Anyway please explain your comment.

First , you need to understand what the sub floor leveling means If you go with a thin set you should start from the highest point of the sub floor With all these “ helping tools” your work gonna take very long ... When you became a pro after a few years of flooring ... well this is a just a comedy. You put down 1 tile in 6 minutes... In a normal day 150-165 sq feet with cuts , must go down without helper unless you are a Home Depot weekend warrior
You don't level a floor with thinset. It may work in a small bathroom but not in a large room....A large room can be as mucn as 2" out of level, how the hell you're going to level that with thinset? Very expensive too. You level the floor first with self leveling or drypack and then just follow the floor with thinset making sure there's no lippage and making sure it's flat.

I made it out of a large 4 wheel dolly and a 2x10 it is handy for 24x24 and larger tiles

Honestly just looked up pro knees, looks like there straight from China and are way over priced.
Still would have had excellent adhesion without backbuttering, he moved the tile perfectly when laid,

These level clips are making guys think it's level. It may be flat and not lippy but a true tile guy leaves his floor dead level at any cost.
