Playing this on an actual sega arcade machine which was a mini rad mobile that moved as you turned corners and went up and down hills was so much fun. Buttons for lights, start. Managed to finish this game at the arcade.
To be able to cover ground as fast as is happening in this game, you'd have to go over mach 5. Over 3800mph. Maybe that's why this game was Sonic's first appearance.
This game completely escaped my memory until I saw a clip of it on an OUTRUN clones video. The headlights and wipers for certain stages was so cool at that time.
9:34 is probably the first time I've seen a playthrough where that doesn't stay on the tracks all the time. Does anything happen if the train catches up to you?
Scaler Engines are such a wild concept of that time: Hey we don't have enough power to render a couple of polygons yet... lets zoom and scale hundreds pf sprites that will form a 3d street made out of flat slices instead.

False. Sonic was first released June 23, 1991 (US). Which was a full month before the Japanese release. This arcade game came out Oct 3, 1990, almost 8 months earlier. I have no idea where you got the idea that Sonic came out in 1988. It didn't. The original pack-in with the Genesis was Altered Beast, and that didn't change until Sonic was released.
Sonic’s very first appearance. Heh.
Did a check on that, and yes - this game came out before Sonic 1.
As well as this game being the inaugural game on the Sega System 32 hardware
Sonic’s Debut
Weird how sonics first appearance was a 3d game
Sega always had top tier arcade games.
for 1991 this looks fucking amazing
In 1991 this was incredible...
Impressive steering feedback too. It even considers the banked turns.
Lot's of games looked good back then.
it was, people playing outrun before, this was a simulator and look so real with cabin and hifi speakers.
because it was the first 32 bit arcade game. advanced even for 1991.

One of my FAVORITE arcade games!!!

Encino man 😂. This game is still awesome.
5:35 Great ; 8:02 style of champions! 9:34 only brave drivers can take that path ; 10:18 / 10:27 exellent; BRAVO.
9:34 is probably the first time I've seen a playthrough where that doesn't stay on the tracks all the time.

This is where the driving game is supposed to look like not look staring at the back of the car
I always thought like that too!
The reality of driving,the obvious!
Back of the car only in the beginning of game, before the "Go!".
Only to show the pilot entering the car.
Didn't Linkavitch Chomofsky play this game in an ice rink in Encino, California before taking a punch from Matt Wilson to protect his friend Dave?
Yeah I was there. Dave was always a little punk.
Weez the juice!
Betty Nuggs
Aaaaauuuuuuu………bud-dy
Arcade Cannonball.I love it
The best and most fun driving game.
Great arcade, completed this yesterday at HI-SCORE Hannover. But just get 4th place at the end.... Round 6 is so f*cking hard ;)

The debut of Sonic
The city kinda looks like station square to so that's kinda cool
Need for Speed The Run old version
sure inspirations
Don't forget Cruisin' USA before NFS!
Picked up an actual arcade machine. Anybody know if this game had force feedback in the steering wheel?
The cockpit version I played regularly did not.
Yes it did
Rad mobile arcade in ps3 like hard drivin arcade in ps2
I remember when it came out in 1991 it was AMAZING...so realistic compared to the others competitors.
This came out in 1990. Sonic came out with genesis 1988

Emulated or captured?
How do you drift?
A lot of these voices sound like someone who’s trying too hard to pretend to be a person.
“Rad! MObeel-”
Yes Rules Sandy from Sylvan Esso and other electronic recommendations for you
who only came here to see sonic?
🖐️😂
