Isn't Ayula's Influence kinda weird? The flavor is pretty clear, she leaves clawmarks on rocks that turn the rocks into bears that defend her territory. But the bears don't have an elemental creature type. They're regular bears. Fully formed adult bears that weren't raised as a cub. How do they know how to behave? Can they communicate with normal bears? How do they fit into bear culture? Is there discrimination against them? Can they reproduce? What DNA do they even have?
I think Commune With the Gods could be a nice addition to the deck, it digs a lot for exactly the things you're searching. Plus, it puts things in the gy to give targets to Life From The Loam and grabs some notable sideboard cards
@@mattnoonan6519 If you discard 4 cards to Influence, you get 8 power on the board, which is usually better than shooting 8 damage to something. Also, if you have Ayula, you get 16 power on the board and kill their biggest dude, which is insane. The synergy pushes it, but even without it Seismic is a good card but for another type of deck.
As I understand it, Ayula paired with the Ayula's influence enchantment gives you access rapid fire, zero-cost (just discard a land) projectile bear 2/2s to launch across your opponent's entire board until it's clear, OR buff the bears with counters and THEN fight, and then if Ayula isn't summonsick you can pump counters until she has lethal with one swing. Isn't blood moon good against Hogaak? I've only seen 1-2 basic swamps in the deck and a whole bunch of non basics.... And little to no actual red cards outside of Faithless and maybe lightning axe
Can you not stack counters on ayula at instant speed? Am I missing something? Against burn you attack in and he likely doesn’t block. Doesn’t it make it an instant speed kill?
Game one you could've pumped up the 6/6 bear again, then had it fight hogaak, and been in an even better spot. Although proof Ayula is just so good Hogaak can't do anything against it.
that was unnecessarily risky though (instant speed removal for 1 mana from opponent e.g. fatal push), keeping 3 lands to do exactly that in instant speed was much better

The lack of attacks with Arboreal Grazers on an open board is just about unforgivable.

I was wondering whether a conflagrate or two could be used over the blood moons
I dont get the grazer in this deck. It removes lands from your hand which is also where you want them for ayulas influence. Seems bad after turn 2
It's ramp protected from most removal, while it hurts influence, it's speed is enough of an upside to not be a big issue.
