Hawks swoop on alleged Transnet fuel theft kingpin

A joint operation between the Hawks and Bidvest Proteacoin has swooped on an alleged kingpin behind the theft of fuel from Transnet's national pipeline. The 35-year-old man was arrested in a sting operation in Pretoria East this morning after busting two of his accomplices with almost 8000 liters of fuel in Vrede in the Free State over the weekend. The suspect has since been flown in a police helicopter to his home in Emalahleni, where police are conducting a search and seizure operations.
