    Hi Elmer I hope you have a good day today. I got a question. is it correct cooling parts name for the engine is a heat exchanger? also, what is the name of the cooling parts for the electronic engine?

    Hi mate ,may I request a video of actual procedure of fire pump testing. Does the discharge drain need to be closed once the automatic test has initiated or left open?

    Hi Sir Elmer. Tanong ko lang po sa Sequence of Operation ng Fire Pumps mainly JP, Elec FP, Diesel FP.
    When there is more demand in the system,
    1st Question: Does Jockey Pump operates with Electric Fire Pump? Or Jockey Pump auto cuts/turn off when Electric Kicks in? Since Electric capacity can already suffice the system demand during fire.
    2nd: Whilst Electric Fire Pump is running, should there be further demand and Diesel Fire Pump preset cut-in /turn on pressure is reached, do Electric and Diesel FP operate together? Or Diesel Fire Pump just really operate/kicks in during Power Failure?

      Answer: 1- Once the electric pump runs. The pressure already exceeded the cut-out pressure of the JP. So, the JP stops. The purpose of JP is only to maintain the installation pressure of the system to avoid the unnecessary start of the electric pump.
      2. - The diesel engine has a lower discharge pressure and cut-in pressure than the electric pump. (normally 2 x lower). Diesel is only a back-up of the electric pump in case of blackout. In the control panel, once the electric motor is running, it automatically isolate the diesel engine from cranking to avoid damage to the engine. This is for piggy bank installation where diesel engine and electric motor have the same shaft.

      @@fireprotectionguy7943 Thanks Sir Elmer.
      What is Piggy Bank Installation po pala? What do you mean by Electric and Diesel FP have the same shaft?
      What if it’s not a Piggy Bank Installation type, are they (Electric & Diesel FP) allowed to operate together? Or there will never be instances that they will be permitted to operate together regardless of Installation type? If not allowed totally, what are the other reasons why we should avoid them to operate together Sir.

      @@arnelada6216 ...Sorry, piggy bank is our term here. It's the electric motor (rotor) and diesel engine shaft are join together and connected to the centri pump. Here, the diesel engine will not allo to crank/run if the electric motor is running. For separate electric and diesel engine driver of a centrifugal pump, they have their separate controls. If the diesel engine runs simultaneously with the electric motor pump, it has no effect to any pump. The highest discharge pressure will prevail. That is, the electric motor pump. Take note, each line has a one way valve or check valve, so higher upper pressure shuts the check valve of the discharge with lower pressure.

    I heard that once the engine runs, because this is an emergency equipment it should not have any ways to turn it off except when the fuel is running out. Is this statement true?

      There's always a STOP switch. If it fails due to solenoid not energising, pull it off manually. Another is a PULL Stop Cable for old engines.

    Hai sir.. I have an one question.. Why hydrant system is connected to diesel pump? In case of any emergency Jockey pump will manage this hydrant system.

    • @fireprotectionguy7943
      @fireprotectionguy7943  2 года назад +1

      Hi Reeban. The purpose of a JP is to restore minor/gradual loss in water pressure. If the loss in pressure is too high and sudden, the diesel pump will kick in to provide the water pressure requirement as per design. The reason why diesel engine is used as prime mover of hydrant pump is based on "fire condition" where normal electricity is not available. By Aust Standard, the engine can run for 4 hours with fuel to supply the engine for minimum of 4 hours. Hope this answers your question. Thnxs

      Also, there are hydrant system that has both electric motor and diesel engine as prime mover at the same time - we call it piggy bank.
