Hey there Tammar! So I let my lottery campaign run for a few weeks or so to give it enough time to work since there are a lot of books in it. For the books that come back with a high ACOS I say wait about 1 week or two to decide whether or not to pause that ad. The great thing about these ads is that you can drill down to look at search terms that are getting clicks but not sales and add those words to the Negative keyword section. Hope this helps 😎
First of all I am loving all of your videos! Yours are so much better than others out there for sure!!! I had a question though about the daily limit. If you do not spend that amount each day, will Amazon spend it all on the last day? I have heard of this happening so I was hoping to calculate my daily spend more as a monthly total if Amazon is doing this. Thanks!
Hello there! I am not sure what you are referring to here but umm this seems weird. You may need to reach out to Amazon support to ask for their assistance.
Thanks for the information. That was very information. One question. I will try this strategy. What is the difference between the daily budget of $5.00 per day and bid or $0.05? Are you starting your bid at $0.05 against other competitors with a maximum budget of $5.00?
Hello there! This is a great question. So the difference is the budget per day is the total amount you are willing to spend per day to advertise your books whereas the bid is how much you are willing to spend max for a click on your books. Hope that helps!
Thanks Kim🙏lf this work for me, l will pray you forever🤗🤗💜l have a question (maybe silly one)Should the books we add be related to each other as a target audience? l hope you can see my comment.
Hey there! So with a lottery ad, you don't have to add books related to one another. They can all be different. Amazon will do the job of matching your books based on the keywords that you are using, your books title and etc to the right people. That's the beauty of using this type of ad. Good luck!
i have it set to 'down only' and some days i'll come in and see that Amazon has double or tripled my bid a few times and it doesn't convert to a sale... so annoying :(
You will need to connect a credit or debit card to your ad account to pay for your ads. It's a separate purchase that gets linked to your CC. Hope this helps!
I really love your videos and I can trust that you are honest. I would love to see you do a video diving deeper into kdp's ad campaign setup. At the moment I am doing a sponsored ad campaign for 3 of my Christmas books: a coloring book, a Christmas planner and a branded Christmas coloring book. But! After 1 week, I've run out of money and now they have paused my ad campaign and I can't afford to send them $158.00 to Restart. Do you have any advise? New at this Denise
Hey there! It may but you may have to bid a little bit higher depending on how competitive the niche is for your novella. I would say it doesnt hurt to try it out and see. I have a lottttt of books (low content like around 500 plus so theres plenty to pull from). Lemme know how it goes.
@@YourChicGeek ok thanks a lot. I just placed the ad, we'll see how it goes. I think I'm really going to give the low content books a try. Thanks for all you do, I wish I discovered you a long time ago.
It's been a year. Are you still running the same ads or at least still doing the lottery style as you show in the video? I ran across someone a year ago who spoke about auto ads and did run them the last year but they were per individual book. I really like the idea of dumping them all in one big campaign. So much easier to manage. LOL Thanks!
Hello there! Yeppers I am and im still getting pretty good results. The lottery ad is basically an ad where you add all of the books you have published to an Automatic ad campaign with a low budget and low cpc (mine is at 7 cents).
I set up a campaign following this method two days ago. I noticed that according to your sales chart, it took about 2 weeks to really take off. Are you still running it after a month? I'm wondering how well this might work in the long term. I haven't sold any books yet with this campaign btw...
Hey there! Yes it still works for me. I should have added a Caveat to the video to say that this works best if you have a large number of books in your catalog not a small number of books.
Great video. Thanks so much. You make it look so easy. I think I'm going to try it. Once the campaign starts, can I add more books to it while it's active? Or do I have to start a new campaign?
Just wanted to give everyone an update. Its now been 30 days and i just logged in to check the results. My spend was $37.65 and i made $358.89 in sales. The order total is 48 and my ACOS is 10.49%. I'm very happy with the results and plan to continue to let this run. I wouldnt of tried this if it wasnt for this video so thanks a lot for the info :-) needless to say im now subscribed.
@@Ambition101 Larryyy! Are you kidding me!!! Holy Smokes. Well first off Congrats to you my friend I'm so glad to hear that this method is working for you. It is really powerful and affordable too. If you don't mind, I would like to use your testimonial...Thanks again and welcome to the fam.
This is the I don't know 5th time currently my ACOS is like a bomb crater .I have fiddled about but still struggling time us an issue . I think J may well just use this as long as things get a bit even a little bit better and continue to do so this may well be the best option. No offence bugbits not very technical scientific etc but who cares? Most of us are not going to pay off our mortgage s with just kdp. As long as acos us down books are moving to sellers. And we keep building our catalogue s and adding them to the campaign as long as it continues to work why complain. Thanks Kim for your straight talking practical advice. Take care.
Hi Kim very interesting. In fact keen to try . But sorry silly question coming. If I already have books on an ad campaign can I add them to this lottery campaign as well like ALL my books ad or no add ? I know that sounds a bit weird. But my main question why / how does this work ? I mean I know it's not a very professional approach but you have got great results but how ? First time in your channel but this idea is mental and I'm hoping to see what happens. Very useful insight. Thanks.
Hi thanks for this video! I have a lottery campaign running now. It’s been running for most of this week just impressions but not spending (no clicks) I would lean to cover design but the other ads campaign I had running before the lottery was spinning more quickly and getting more clicks to the books Any advice?
@6:55 This could be a big miscalculation. Spent: $14.94. Orders: 7. Sales: $114.79. ACOS: 13.02. Sounds great, right? But $114 is sales - not profit. If your profit was say, $13 on 7 books, you lost $1.94. You need to take profit into account, not just ACOS.
Hello there! That may be true but lets also remember that ACOS and profitability can vary based on the PRICE of a book. A lot of my books are priced higher so my ads are profitable. Hope this helps.
@@YourChicGeek In your next video, you should mention that. A 250 page hardcover with premium color would not have a big profit margin at $16. The profit of each individual should be considered along with the ACOS.
Heya Nick! Yeppers it does. I have all of my books in a single campaign. You can also break things down by categories of books as well meaning create a lottery ad for planners, one for logbooks, and one for journals to see what performs best. Hope this helps.
@@eeyeam I would recommend starting off with around $2 or $3 a day then scale from there. Hope this helps! Just a note I have my lottery campaign set for $5 a day.
Hello there! This is a great question. My lottery ads hardly ever run out of budget so you should be good as long as you set a low bid on your campaign (like 5 to 7 cents).
Is it good to run ads for books which have no reviews or sales yet? I just published some books and I want to run ads, just want to know if that will be good or not?
Hello there! Ives ran ads to books with and without reviews and have made sales. I think its all about experimenting to see what happens (if you have the budget to do so). So to answer your question, yes Ive made sales on books with no reviews.
Hello there! Yes you can. If you find your bids or ACOS getting too out of control, you will need to pause the ad for the specific book or look at your search terms to find ones that get clicks but no sales and add them to negative keywords. Hope this helps.
@@YourChicGeek hi there. I had a question. i put all the bids at 11 cents but on the targeting groups under “Targeting” it gives me a suggested bid. Should i keep them at 11 or change to the suggested bid ? Suggested bids are between .37-.75. Im currently at 11 but could raise to 20 if need be? Thank you again
@@875daily hey there! Def keep the bid at .11 cents for everything for now. I never use the suggested bids as they will up your budget super fast. I would let your ads run for a few days (2-3) then check back to view impressions and clicks to see if any new sales have popped up. You got this :-)
@@YourChicGeek thank you. Just checked out your update video on the Lottery Campaign. I believe i don’t have enough data to determine negative keywords and performance. I will adjust the bids back down. Thanks again
@@YourChicGeek Just update since Oct 18th on the Lottery Campaign. 0.60 for product ad and 308 impressions. No clicks and No ACOS? Should i change anything or keep it the same for 30 days?
Hi Kim! I love your channel and really appreciate all of the practical info you share. Question for you. . .I started Amazon KDP around June 21 and I currently have 43 low and medium content books that are live. I started running a lottery campaign on August 2 and I've been getting 500 to 1000 impressions a day and about 3 to 5 clicks per day, but haven't sold anything yet. I've optimized the campaign a few times. How long does it usually take to see sales from the ad?
Hey there Sharon! Sooo it sounds to me like there may be a problem with your cover designs and book descriptions. Those are a few things to check first. Also consider adding A+ content to your books as well. They def help with increasing conversions and sales. I have a video on my channel that covers it.
@@YourChicGeek Thanks for the tips. I'm going to review my descriptions to see where they can be improved I watched your video on A+ Content several weeks ago and have added it to several of my books. That video was very helpful.
@@YourChicGeek I have the same problem, I had an ad running for 4 months and sold nothing, no clicks only impressions, what do you mean by cover design problems, do you mean typo or not attractive. Thank you for all you wonderful content. :) I will keep looking at your videos :)
@@albie3229 Sorry that I'm just seeing this. What kind of books are you running ads to? The amount that you are spending on bids can vary depending on the type of book that you are marketing. For example, some coloring books in competitive niches will require a larger bid to push them out there.

Question! How Do you pay for the ads does it come out of the sales, out of the royalties, or does it get linked to a credit card?
You will need to connect a credit or debit card to your ad account to pay for your ads. It's a separate purchase that gets linked to your CC. Hope this helps!
Fantastic video! I have one question. The books that your run this campaign on, did they all have A+ Content set up for them.
Excellent video!! Thank you!
You are welcome!
I'm going to try this Thank You!
Woohooo! Lemme know how it goes
Thanks a lot for this Kim. Do you think this will work for novels and novellas as well? I have 6 books published and I want to give this a try.
@@HughOSmith1 aww thanks! I appreciate that. Best of luck
Thank you dear
Yw!
That is, well, awesome!
@@YourChicGeek
Awesome, ive set it up and im trying this out. I'll report back in 30 days with the results. Great video.
Awesome!
@@YourChicGeek Yes indeed, very powerful. And feel free to use the testimonial.
@@Ambition101 thanks!
Take care.
Oh no! Thats sad to hear. Its all learning and practice as my ACOS has been a bit higher than normal too. Comes with the territory.
Thank you so much you are appreciated
Yw!
Im going to try it
Hi Kim very interesting.

It’s been running for most of this week just impressions but not spending (no clicks)
I would lean to cover design but the other ads campaign I had running before the lottery was spinning more quickly and getting more clicks to the books
Any advice?
Sounds like a cover design issue. You need to probably redesign your covers.
@@YourChicGeek I was thinking so but haven’t had a problem in the other campaigns. I’ll try turning those back on
Thanks!
What if you have had organic sales to a particular book, can you just run ads on that particular book
Yes..you most certainly can :-)
Hi, thanks for the video. You didn't mention how to make payment for the advert. Please can you share on that? Thanks.
Hello there! You will need to add a working debit or credit card to your ads account to pay for your ads to run.
Thanks Kim ! :*
Yw!
I've just put into practice your plan, lets see what happens.
I'll try it
We moved all our books to one Ad Campaign and we're making less than the 25.00 per month we WERE making :( so tired of 20.00 per month on KPD :(
Hey there! So sorry to hear this. You may need to take your best sellers and make manual ads around them.
Thanks, the video is helpful
Oh wow, thank you!
Gracias por compartir con nosotros Y love you😘😘
De Nada!
My Queen...How may I serve you??? Thank you for the information.
Thanks so much!
@@YourChicGeek Thank you. Implemented it yesterday and I have over 600 nonfiction books!!! Just Awesome!!!
@@HealthWealthRelationships700 yw Brian! Best of luck
I am new to these ads thing. I wanted to know if you have to pay for these ads on Amazon?
Hello there! Yes you will need to pay for them on Amazon. Best of luck.
Thanks
Yw!
Thank you for sharing. How long did it take you to see a click or impressions rise?
Does this method work if you have multiple niches within the same campaign group. E.g. coloring books, journals , fitness books, log books?
Heya Nick! Yeppers it does. I have all of my books in a single campaign. You can also break things down by categories of books as well meaning create a lottery ad for planners, one for logbooks, and one for journals to see what performs best. Hope this helps.
Great video, thank you.
Yw!
This Was Awesome 👌...I'm Going To Try This ThanK You Soooo Much!!!
Yayyy and let me know how it goes!
@@YourChicGeek yes ma'am...how much $$$ you think I should start off spending ?
@@eeyeam I would recommend starting off with around $2 or $3 a day then scale from there. Hope this helps! Just a note I have my lottery campaign set for $5 a day.
@@YourChicGeek thank you for responding 🙏... I will try
Great information, I have a question, does it charge $5 a day even if you don't sell any books.
Hello there! This is a great question. My lottery ads hardly ever run out of budget so you should be good as long as you set a low bid on your campaign (like 5 to 7 cents).
@@YourChicGeek Ok awesome & thank you I love your channel ❤️😊.
Hi good video. Is that sales number a gross number or a figure for net sales? If it's gross, is your acos higher?
Is it good to run ads for books which have no reviews or sales yet? I just published some books and I want to run ads, just want to know if that will be good or not?
Hello there! Ives ran ads to books with and without reviews and have made sales. I think its all about experimenting to see what happens (if you have the budget to do so). So to answer your question, yes Ive made sales on books with no reviews.
Very helpful, but. You said not to put an end date. What if it just continues to run eating up my $. How do I end the campaign? Love your voice BTW.
Great question. If there are books eating up your campaign you can pause them individually
@@YourChicGeek Thanks!
can we use this strategy if we have only 5 books in one niche? Does it work?
Hello there! Yes you can. If you find your bids or ACOS getting too out of control, you will need to pause the ad for the specific book or look at your search terms to find ones that get clicks but no sales and add them to negative keywords. Hope this helps.
@@YourChicGeek thank uu kim .can we run 1 book in 2 campaigns one automatic and another manual to compare?
@@user-rk8hg9ic3d Hello there! Yeppers you absolutely can.
Some great tips. I just created 2 campaigns yesterday. Looks like i need to make some adjustments thanks to your video. Can we only do sponsored ads?
Yayyyy for you! Yep you can do sponsored ads in fact thats what im currently using. I am creating a video soon that goes over how to set these up. 😎
I made it a point to really describe my low and medium content correctly and also just added some A+ content. I archived the old ad and created a brand new one.
