  • How do I convert wild 8ft tall grass into a lush food forest and work towards my first plantation. Are there any others like me out there?

Hey, nice to see that you are progressing on your farm. I have a suggestion for your coffee shading plants. Madero negro (Gliricidia sepium) is often used in Costa Rica. Very easy to plant. Just stick a branch in the ground and it will grow. You can also use Flemingia, Mountain Immortelle or Ice Cream Bean (Inga). They are all legumes, which means a lot of nitrogen for you coffee when you prune the legumes.

Your videos are so dope! Love how transparent you are. I've been contemplating buying land out in costa rica and your videos are so helpful and informative.

Lol this is why I'm buying a turn-key home in a community lol. After climbing bridges for 30 years, giving me the ability to retire at 50 with a 7 figure bank account, I'm not doing a damn thing physically lol

I wonder if that would be a good wood for a smoker, being a hardwood.

I’d like to ask how much did you pay and how much land did you buy. I’m coming to Costa Rica in March for some exploratory research into moving and would also like a farm. Thanks in advance.

We bought four hectares. Prices vary widely. If you are close to beach tbey will be much higher. You can buy bare land from anywhere from 50k to 300k depending on soo many factors. Water and electricity are worth paying for when already installed..but without these the price will be much lower. I can say from all of our property visits that prices range from 6-15 thousand colones per sq mtr..and above for more developpwd american influenced properties.

Minimum wage for an unskilled labouror here is about 12 thousand colones per day. I paid what he asked for. I know it seems cruel. but that is the economy.
