Seems like a nice compact acoustic to take out to a gathering/campfire and not worry too much about getting any scratches or dings in it but can still get the job done.
The necks on Martin are not unfinished. Rather, they have a smooth SATIN finish. I'm sure Sigma is similarly finished.
My brother gave me one and I’m blown away with the rich quality of the Sigma Mini.

@@jimmyfranklin Hey Jimmy, in the off chance you see this and still have the guitar, what is the diameter/measurement of the sound hole? Im considering picking one up, but I need a soundhole pickup to fit, so the soundhole size is make or break for me
@@jimmyfranklin It's been great for the last year. Just a spare guitar I keep in the living room, and it holds a tune quite well and has better intonation than I was ever expecting.

I prefer ltd acoustic or Godin multiac acoustic because of getting used to the thickness of electric guitar
So why isn’t this guitar listed on Sigma’s site? Nowhere’s to be found! I have two natural BTW & love them. Had a Sigma back in late 70’s & loved it.
Looks and sounds great for what it is! How are the tuning pegs and nut? Some sites claim it has Grover tuners, but many reviews state that's incorrect and tuners are cheap. Considering getting this for a friend. Curious if you think a set up, fresh strings, bone nut, better tuners and maybe quality pins would make a big difference? Anyone know of any drop-in replacement tuners? Thanks!
Thank you for this comment! The models I have were all Grover tuners. However, I was informed that the new models would not come with Grover’s. It really makes a huge difference and I’m sure Grover would make a set that’s a direct fit.
@@jimmyfranklin Thanks for the reply. I just ordered an "open box - mint" one from Musician's Friend. Should be delivered today. I hope it's the Grover tuners. Also, if you're curious, I have some info on the Sigma brand. As you stated, Sigma was started by Martin as their budget import line in 1970. They were initially manufactured in Japan before eventually moving around and settling again in Korea. I have a Japanese Sigma DM-18 from 1980 that's fantastic. Martin discontinued the Sigma brand in 2007. Since then, the Sigma trademark lapsed, resulting in two different brands creating and obtaining rights to Sigma. The guitar you played is one by the Sigma brand owned by St. Louis Music. The German company AMI also obtained the rights to use Sigma Guitars, but cannot sell them in the U.S. with the Sigma name. Instead, they're sold under the name of the parent company, which utilizes a logo clearly inspired by the Sigma logo. Both companies appear to manufacture guitars reminiscent of the the ones Martin used to, and I'd be genuinely curious to put two comparable models head to head.
