Saw Randy several times in the 1980/81 timeframe in Hollywood, California. He played the Whiskey-A-Go-Go a lot back then. One show in particular blew my mind. It was epic. At the end of the show the crowd held-up his cord (pre-wireless days) and he ran out onto Sunset Blvd playing and freaking a lot of drivers out! He also would climb one of the posts in the Whiskey up to the 2nd-floor part of the club, all-the-while playing. Epic.
I saw Randy go outside the Golden Bear club in Huntington Beach. I cannot imagine what the people driving their cars on PCH thought. Also, an epic show that I’ll never forget. My ears are still ringing to this day …
It's so cool to hear and see Randy play these iconic songs, so we can understand Jimi's genius, as well as Randy's amazingly deep grasp and appreciation of Jimi. My love of this music is more complete because of Randy's excellent work...for the past 30 plus years. Thank you, brother.
Randy's one of those who seen Jimi Hendrix play dedicating his life becoming Hendrix devote'. Mahogany rush 'frank marino' and Uli jon Roth are also Hendrix devotes. Playing full Hendrix sets when not promoting their own albums. I haven't sent randy play I heard of randy Hanson since 1980 when I was in eighth grade. Kids at school were saying they saw Jimi Hendrix play the night before.(kids who went with older brothers. They said he came up from the smoke on stage. (Smoke machine) in the audiance jumping up on tables ,Blowing their minds. It cost 5:00$ at door. I was pissed off I missed. Those kids always seen killer concerts with older stoner brothers. Frank Marino mahogany rush with (Angel) punky meadows) humble pie! Punched hole in wall and took off on my bike.. Uli jon Roth is most terrifying guitarist I seen live, non stop shredding dual harmonies. Uli Roth must be seen live full experience . I'm sure randy and Frank are same way. Listen too records doesn't justify a good guitarist talent. The only guitarist I can compare these Hendrix devotes too is Shawn Lane. (Once upon a ttime in the west). Screaming beauty, prehistoric, a monarch above its entire race, cretaceous end flowering plants ) Shawn Lane said if he had too choose one guitarist for rest of his life for listening, who would it be?? Tough question, Shawn finally said Jimi Hendrix. Because of all little things (personally I think shawn was referring bootlegs) I could be wrong. Randy seen Hendrix in 69 if not mistaken. At that show randy was up front next stage, Hendrix above randy, Jimi's sweat fell upon him. Metamorphosis. Ultimately Randy Hansons destiny. Years ago I chatted with one Randy's bass players. Very nice. I think he remember that show in 1980 in fresrag CA.

saw Randy at the Paramount in Seattle in 1979... he's one of the greats... imo he straddles that line where he faithfully tributes Hendrix, while also adding an evolving approach to the material... be that as it may, it's a joy to hear Randy sing and play...
There's no way this music could be written in modern times... a click track would force the removal of the floating timing. This is so awesome; Randy is so good at capturing Jimi's sound and feel.
I performed this song with the guitar player in our band and a substitute Drummer today. It was great learning the bass part then going right out and Dive into the song. Randy is killer!
Too bad that lady interrupted him when he was about to play that feedback part to 3rd stone. Check out the Hendrix isolated guitar track of 3rd stone. 🤯
@@homelesshendrix I'm betting he knows it too. Randy is the closest thing we have to Hendrix still being on this earth. He's a master at what he does 👏🏻👏🏻✌🏻✌🏻🎸🎸
Randy is just so damn good. The duplication, the tone. Thank god he commited his life to live and breathe Hendrix. We love you for it.
You got that right !!!
The tone of that Fender is something else !
Randy, you may be getting on in years, but when you smile, I can still see that cheeky little kid just having fun on his guitar.

When I'm jamming Third Stone From The Sun I like to get into the riff from "Giant Steps" by John Coltrane.

If Hendrix were young today, he would be homeless which is a social commentary on what is going on.
