Obscure 80's Albums (Part 82) Edge Park - Personal Fable

Edge Park were a quintet from Ithaca, a college town in upstate New York. To say they were the prototypical college-rock band would be right on the money, as all five members attended Ithaca College at the time, and seemingly made headway on their school station, WICB. Though they state in their bio that The Cure and the The Church made the biggest impression on them, Edge Park's mildly downcast but chiming guitar pop also fell into the realm of The Ocean Blue, Springhouse, and even Simple Minds. Their debut album, Edge Park - Personal Fable, was only released on vinyl back in 1989 on BCMK Records (a label based in Buffalo, NY). Members were Christopher Masters, Jim Shea and Scott Persson.

Because radio stations only played the music they perceived as the 'best of the best', the vast majority of 80s music is almost totally unheard. Thank you for your work championing music that otherwise would be lost!

They boil the 80s (and other decades) down to handful of representative bands and tracks. And even if the list is full of great songs, it leaves out so much great or very good music.
