- The Land Downunder was the home to many amazing and inspiring bands that went criminally unnoticed . The problem was that back in the day there was almost no way to unearth them. Most music in the 80's was what you heard on the radio or your mate played for you on their album/cassette tape. There were no streaming and no internet radio station. A number of bands made it to mainstream in North America & Europe, Real Life, Pseudo Echo, Men At Work, INXS, Midnight Oil & Ice House, to name a few. So in this video I've covered 50 Australian bands, one song from each for those of you folks who would like to hear what other Aussie bands sounded like and to research their music.
