  • I bought an inexpensive wedding veil from Shein and it didn't match my dress. The solution? A big ol' pot of tea and a little bit of luck.

I'm going to do this to my stark white veil so it matches my dress! Thank you for testing it out!

Just word of caution for other brides trying this:
    1. Even if you follow the exact instructions on any of these videos, your results may vary due to differences in the veil's materials and the brand of tea you use.
    2. Rather make the tea water too weak than too strong. You can always dip dye a second or third time if its not dark enough the first time, but you can't lighten it again after it's done. I steeped 2 teabags in 1 liter of boiling water for 2min. Removed the teabags, and added 1 liter of cold water for it to be workable. I dipped my wet veil in the tea water and moved it around for roughly 1 min, then thoroughly rinsed it in clean, cold water. And even though this is shorter than explained in the video AND made with weaker tea, my veil came out borderline too dark. Rather error on the side of caution.
    3. Be aware that the tea might react differently with any beading or lace than with the rest of the tulle on the veil. I have glass beads with silver on the insides of their "threading tubes" on my veil. During the dyeing process, may of the beads lost that silver coating. The glass still shimmers, but they now look different. Meanwhile, the nylon sewing thread I used to sew on the beads did not take to the dye at all. Similarly, lace might absorb more of the stain and end up darker than the tulle.
