Making a Beautiful Cathedral-Length Wedding Veil

  • Hello everyone! In today's video, I was tasked with making a beautiful wedding veil. It's very long and this is called a cathedral-length. The results were absolutely wonderful! My client loved it. I hope you can all take some inspiration from this video because it is totally feasible to make a wedding veil! This one took some time just because it's large but for shorter/smaller wedding vails, it doesn't take too much time!!

I made my daughter's veil. I hand sewed the lace along the edge. Took me 2 days and my entire kitchen island to lay it out flat and shape the lace to the tulle. We ordered out for dinner the one night so that no one would disturb my project. LOL.

Dear Ms. Downtown- I want to thank you for this great tutorial. You cannot know how much it helped me to make my daughter's wedding veil. I haven't made a gown in years, and this really refreshed my memory. Improved my sewing skills. The finishing just made the veil look so lovely. Now on to applying horsehair, lace, and beading. I pray I get it right. So thankful for people who share their talents. Blessings.

Can you do a video on different types of tulle that is used for making veils? All I see on the internet are English net, silk etc but I noticed a bunch of different types of tulle at shops. They all tell me it’s tulle but don’t tell me the difference between the materials so I don’t know what fabric to buy 🙁

I don't recall, but you'll need around 5 meters to cover the bottom and going a little bit to the sides. Minimum 3 meters.

@@DowntownTailoring Sure! I found them on Alibaba. When we first talked they gave me a file containing a lot of classic designs. I made a shorlist and from that shortlist this is the lace that I finally decided to buy. I will give the WeChat account of their Manager so you can talk to them, but I will ask her permission first before putting it here. They have minimum order requirement though, which is 15yards. But that is fine. I saved a lot of money compared if I bought it in our country.
