I am applying French corded lace to my veil. Is it best to sew this lace on by hand instead of on the sewing machine? Also is silk thread the best for applying this type of lace?

Well, the French lace yes, it would be better with a hand stitch than the machine stitch. I usually use a polyester thread 🧵

I respect your technique, but I am sorry to tell you that it is not the best way to make a veil. To get a perfect circumference it is best to use a ruler and measure from the axis. I know that you have a lot of experience and that there are steps that you can skip, but in your video you can see the corrections that you had to make for not doing it correctly and professionally.
