I feel like this decision actually is fully Osha’s choice. I don’t think The Stranger manipulated her. He always told her what he believed is the truth and gave her the space to process and decide what she thinks. Even in her final decision with Mae, he gives his suggestion and then stays silent as Osha and Mae work through it. He stops trying to kill Mae, because she matters to Osha. And in a similar way, Mae also lets Osha finally make a choice instead of feeling possessive and codependent on her for the first time in their lives. Sol truly loved Osha, but his fatal flaw was his inability to accept that he was wrong when it came to handling the coven and even more so in his handling of Osha. I’m so glad the season showed us the timeline like this, because I fear Sol’s layers and dimensions would have been lost in a linear story. It works so well to have us all fall for this noble Jedi and then discover his flaws, the same as us fearing The Stranger and then discovering his soft spots.

This was a great episode and a great season tbh. Sad that Sol got kklled and lied about. I dont trust Venestra. But... pretty awesome! Lets hope we get a second season! This was super cool and loved seeing Plagius in the shadows
As wrong as he was, Sol did what he thought was right but ended up the fall guy for the greater good of the Jedi which was rightly questioned as an order by the senator who's not only proven right hundreds of years later but in the past.
The story is about Osha being a failed Jedi who becomes an acolyte for a Dark Jedi. Qimir isn't Sith. He's a Dark Jedi who is devoted to the darkside and chose an independent path and isn't aligned with the Sith (like Xendor before him and Baylan Skoll afterward). The tragedy of Osha's life enables Qimir to turn her to the darkside.
Don't project your own wants for the character onto him and state them as fact. We have 4 reasons to believe that he is, in fact, Sith. 1. Between Plagueis' presence on the Stranger's island hideout, and the highlighted fact that there is 1 landing pad which supports 1 ship with only 2 seats, suggests that they share this hideout. 2. Early on the series, when he was still using the alias of "Qimir", he makes a clear "peace is a lie" reference, spoken in the context of a personal belief. Mae reacts the phrase like she's sick of hearing it. 3. His declaration that he wants the "power of two" is a not-so-subtle reference to the Rule of Two. Implying that he has a master who he aims to betray and replace. Why the power of two? Why not the power of one? Or the "power of maaaaany"? 4. Finally, there's the "a Jedi like you might call me Sith" line. It's not as flat out as saying "I'm Sith", but you wouldn't use the word Sith unless you wanted to communicate the idea in connection to yourself. Now, if none of that is good enough for you, Mae is literally referred to as "an acolyte of the Sith" on the Star Wars website.
Sol would absolutely have wanted Vernestra to frame him to save Mae and Osha. By framing him for all the murders it gives Vernestra a chance to help Mae and atone for the damage the Jedi did to her and her sister by killing their entire family. Helping those girls, whom Sol always wanted to help, is what Sol would prioritize over his reputation.
I was a little dissatisfied with the finale because they are obviously setting up a lot of things for season 2 but I reckon there's maybe a 40% chance we get a season 2.

Hello There, I thought when Osha bleeds Sol's lightsaber was awesome. I have a question, how all of a sudden. Osha who couldn't hurt a soul, all of a sudden knows how to Force choke like Darth Vader and ends Sol's life? Did Qimir secretly teach her or something? 🤔🤔 I'm curious
She did have some dark tendency when she grabbed that butterfly thing but let it go but mostly I blame the helmet it must've been full of dark side energy like every other sith mask
Well, Mae likely never saw it done, or heard of it, and therefore never thought it. To be fair, it never occurred to me that that this is what Qimir meant about killing a Jedi unarmed, and I know I'm not the only one. Osha on the other hand saw "Mae" killing Sol with the Force choke in her vision. Think of the scene at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban when Harry is waiting for his father to appear, and cast the patronus charm which scatters the dementors, saving Sirius Black. Obviously, James Potter doesn't show up and save the day, Harry - who had been struggling to conjure the patronus charm earlier in the move, realises that he has the ability to conjure one powerful enough to do the job because he literally watched himself do it a few hours ago.
@@lordfoul6259 It was Mae who grabbed the butterfly, not Osha. But that's irrelevant. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't the helmet. The darkness that you're referring to came from Osha. It was all her. Her anger, fear, and grief had been slowly bubbling to the surface since the series started, when she was wrongly arrested for murder. "Qimir" had explained that the mask was a sensory deprivation headpiece, which blocks out all distractions, leaving the wearer alone with their own thoughts and feelings - allowing them to focus only on the Force. The Dark Side is fuelled by negative emotions, and Osha was not in an emotionally stable state when she put it on. Personally, I'm glad that this series went with a believable reason for the mask looking the way it does and bringing the darkness out of Osha the way it does, instead of simply going with the silly "Sith mask has dark powers" trope. When Osha killed Sol, she acted on her own impulse - killing the man who had just admitted to killing her mother and lying to her face for 16 years and even at the end insisted that he was justified instead of once simply saying "I'm sorry".
@mitchellhayward6492 yup I agree with everything you said Osha had all these negative emotions slowly bubbling in her for 16 years and at first she was directing them towards Mae but when she heard Sol confess to killing her mother and not even apologizing for it that was the straw that broke the camel's back btw when she was killing him I was quoting the sith code in my head lol
Assuming that there is a Season 2, I think it would be pretty neat if "Qimir" and Vernestra had a couple of flashback episodes of their own, showing us from their shared point of view how "Qimir" got his scar, what drove him to the Dark Side, how his worldview became so shattered that he follows the Sith "we become free when we lose everything" mentality, and how much of whatever happened was actually Vernestra's fault / of the Sith brainwashing / of his own making.
