    Nice playing, bro! I've recently met a now friend of mine who's quite good at guitar, he likes to play stoner & hard psychedelic rock. Today we had a jam, it was quite good but i definitely must improve my groove & feel in this genre. Any advices?

      I would suggest focusing on the details rather than the groove itself due to the fact that stoner rock is heavily dependent of Grace notes and ghost notes ....also on playing slow but heavy ... most of the time stoner rock tends to be slow but give you this feeling of groove...try to practise how to transition well from 8th note to 16th notes in the same groove ...

      My point was to give someone that know how to play drums 🪘 🥁 but has never ever played or listen to stoner rock … but thanks for the feedback much appreciated ^_^

      @@AndreVanZark i meant there’s few common pulsating patterns which can define stoner drums grooves, you shoved couple well, I’d recommend people trying to dig in that to look closely on war pigs (black sabbath) drums , and early sabbath in general ( especially toms and alts fills )

    • @AndreVanZark

      @@user-kc9rh8kw7c agree on this 💯 sabbath where my gate way to stoner rock … I also have a war pigs drum cover … ps then I listen to the sword and so on

      That’s what I wanted to do … so a very primitive overview so people could get started some how ^_^

    Stoner rock is basically 70s rock.
    This is over playing.👎

      I think most stoner metal drummers are playing too little. They have failed in attaining the massive power of those like Bill Ward in 1975. The only problem of this clip is that the track is just too fast.

    • @AndreVanZark
      @AndreVanZark  5 лет назад +6

      Thats true and me as a drummer I just try to captivate what the track provides me with

    • @Danfromoverthere

      I don’t think he’s overplaying

      138boris I totally agree. Keep it simple and traditional

      I think he is just trying to show different varieties of beats.
