    I like that you're going back to your roots of more abstract / occult / food for thought videos that's why I subbed to the channel so long ago. Still like the daily news commentary but the balance of both is awesome to have.

    I've been to Holcombe Road about a hundred times as a youth. Had two weird experiences. One of the times we did see phantom car lights on the road in the woods coming towards us that then disappeared. We went through the woods, down the rest of the road, and we passed no other cars. Mind you, this is a dirt road that travels between two main roads with nothing but woods in the middle and fields on either end. There are no roads or paths they could have turned down.
    The other time we got out of my friends car to walk around in the woods a little. All five of us were together, and the car was turned off and my friend had the keys. When we got about a hundred yards away the lights on his car came on and the radio was playing loud enough that we could hear it, even though we had the radio turned off as we drove down the road. It only lasted for a couple seconds, and we ran back to the car and left. When we got back to the car his doors were also unlocked, and he locked them when we left the car. And no, he didn't have an remote car starter on the thing either, so there's no way he could have done that himself.
    I don't really believe in ghosts or spirits but those two things creeped me the hell out. There's also a road and a cemetery that are supposedly haunted in Tontogany, OH, only a couple miles from Holcombe Road. Ive been to both of those places a bunch too, but never experienced anything there.

    There's also a good one in southwest Ohio called Peter's Cartridge Company. It's an enormous old factory where several explosions killed multiple people over the years. You go down a steep forest road that turns very sharply onto a bridge. Then, straight ahead of you as you cross the bridge, you can see it looming through the trees. The road takes you within feet of it. I've heard sporadic hammering and grinding noises coming from the abandoned main building in the dead of night.

    Moonville Tunnel is the tunnel in Zaleski Forest. Lots of weird phenomenon there. Lots of deaths in that area from civilians and railroad workers killed by passing trains. The area gets really dark and hard to see. A very isolated part of southern Ohio. It used to be the mainline from St. Louis to Baltimore for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Because of the lantern phenomenon you mentioned the railroad put up a signal by the tunnel saying to ignore anything you see but the signal.

    Wish I still had the picture, but many years ago I was hiking in the Zalewski Forest and came upon an old cemetery in the middle of the woods. One of the tombstones was for a man names John S. Gibson who died in 1859. Hiss tombstone read:
    Remember man as you pass by,
    As you are now so once was I.
    As I am now so you must be,
    Prepare for death and follow me.

    The Adena mound is near Chillicothe, Ohio which is also the location of the great serpent mound. The Adena mound is not in Oxford, Ohio which is the location Miami University, which should be buried under a mound.

    • @benharper5486
      @benharper5486 6 лет назад

      wait...the great serpent mound is north of Columbus, not near Chillicothe, I live north east of there, I know!

    • @topherming6565
      @topherming6565 6 лет назад +1

      Okay. Wikipedia straightened this out for me.
      "Adena Mound, the type site for the Adena culture of prehistoric mound builders, is a registered historic structure, on the grounds of the Adena Mansion for which it is named, near Chillicothe, Ohio, was listed in the National Register on June 5, 1975.[1]"
      So I guess any mound built by the Adena people is called an Adena mound.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adena_culture

    • @topherming6565
      @topherming6565 6 лет назад +2

      Okay, it's not near Chillicothe, so you're right about that. But it's way south of Columbus according to Wikipedia, the source of all true knowledge. You might have another serpent mound, but not the great serpent mound?
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serpent_Mound
      Actually it's only forty miles from Chillicothe.

    Lol. Just thought you meant the state in general. Although thinking about it, if ye actually went somewhere where you couldn’t hear the sound of cars on the roads or if you just couldn’t hear them for some reason it could be pretty spooky around here. Tons of old stuff way too decayed, so mostly everything as far as building is less than 50 years old probably, but ye can still see the past peeking through in the form of old foundations, old silos, barns, and some other things. Yea...add in all this fog from the moisture recently and yea I’d be scared shitless at night

    There is a place called the Devil's Barn along River View Rd in Peninsula, Ohio. I am not sure if it is still intact. The ruins that remained of the barn, at least when I lived near there, are just the stone foundation and the masonry silo. When we would "explore" inside the foundation of the ruins and the silo the air was significantly colder inside the perimeter of the ruins and silo that it was just out side of it at the surrounding property. You could definitely feel a marked difference in the air when standing within the foundation. It was thicker and much colder. Not sure if this can be explained as a natural phenomenon or was it a sign of paranormal activity. Needless to say most of us thought the place was fucking haunted

Outside the southwestern suburbs of Columbus on an eerily dark country road. Place has all sorts of tales attached to it. The most notable I recall is of a grounds keeper who burned in a house fire on the property. But it's the kind of place that's downright creepy in the day and terrifying at night.

    Loveland? Haunted even at outset? Mostly complete castle? If ever I do sort my life out and find myself capable of traveling to American then this stout Englishman of a Brexiteer will most assuredly have to check that site out for it made my balls tingle with that description alone. There was a 17th century, I think, castle remnant in my industrial revolution founded town of Middlesbrough, and my older brothers used to regularly talk about the weird happenings of those who would venture there to quote unquote -get wrecked (smoke lots of dope,drink and maybe coke or watered down MDMA pills etc) . Ie seek escapism in the face of the doll-drum and overly privileged life all us Britons lived. Now naturally that would preclude a lot of happenings from objectivity but that place always did have an aura, no matter which way you go about it. In summary though that place had a vibe and the pic of Loveland gave me the same vibe so there you go. I now want to visit it.
