It will depend on the model but for a car with PSCB brakes they will last much longer and will not likely only need the pads replaced possible to go 60K miles or longer on a set of pads. On Cast Iron Rotored car front Brakes will last 30k miles and rears about the same maybe a little less depending on driving style. Cost will range drastically but front brake pads, rotors, sensors installed run about $1700. With a little bit less for rear brakes!
Also to note: the 0-60 performance of the GTS is stated very conservatively by Porsche. Car and Driver got a 3.9 second 0-60 in their test, which is crazy.
One of the best comparison videos to date. You solidified my dream car with the GTS. I already know it's a fantastic car but you sold it to me even though I'm not ready to buy. But man, why does Porsche charge for everything? The sunroof and easy entry key should be standard equipment. The GTS with options is priced near the X3 M range and that to me is a lot more performance for the money.

noticed in your video the GTS has 4 buttons on the left lower side of the center console. However on the Porsche USA website configurator, when the Sport Chrono is optioned, it that bank of buttons changed to 3 buttons... Any thoughts on that?
Wooow keen eye! I have never noticed that! Very good find.. the configurator Macan GTS after adding Sports Chrono is missing the "Adaptive Air Suspension" Button where you can raise and lower the car. If the car does not have Sport Chrono there will be 5 buttons on the left. 1) Sport 2) PASM (stiffen dampening) 3)Adaptive Air Suspension (raise and lower car) 4) PSM (traction control) 5) Off road. With Sport Chrono you will loose the "Sport" Button and all the rest will remain! The configurator needs to be fixed it sounds like! Again great find! Hope this helps! 👍🏼
How is the reliability of the Macan in General? Heard the older ones suffered from a lot of oil leaks, because of the use of Light-Weight Aluminum Bolts to hold things together, especially the oil pan?
Very good question overall the Macan is very solid... one of the main things I have seen on the 4-cylinder is water pumps but that tends to be the case for a lot of Porsches unfortunately! Yes most definitely the first generation 2015-2018 S,GTS and Turbo has had it great deal of oil leaks from the timing cover... you have done your research that is exactly right the aluminum bolts are the main culprit! I have seen some oil pans but is less common than the timing cover. Have also seen PDK (trans) pans leak as well but that is a lot less frequent. Have also seen transfer cases fail but this is a lot less as well more common in the Cayenne! Hope this helps! Thanks for the support! 👍🏼

Aventurine Green is an awesome color! Great question at this time Porsche has not decided to bring it to the Macan but have a feeling it may come to the Macan if it gains popularity! Happened in the past for Miami blue. It first was released on our sport cars and eventually came to the Macan 👍🏼
Juan! Great question the best way to keep a Macan is a purchase! How long are you thinking? If you thinking of keeping it for 4 years or less I would considering leasing as you can put less money down have a lower monthly payment opposed to purchasing!

Thank you Rich 🙏🏼 The Macan S did not have PASM but it definitely makes a difference when going over broken roads and bumps in the roads or that time when you want to stiffen up the suspension you can sure tell a difference!
Hi Mark! I would personally at this moment in time choose a Macan GTS ICE! Am Curious to see the Macan EV styling and how external chargers will be able to handle the load of a lot of EV's on the road! Over the next couple years this will only get better and I will be more confident with a Macan EV.

At most, I would like to be able to take it to my daughter’s in Raleigh (175 miles) and son’s in Charlotte (210 miles) and to see friends in Greensboro (250 miles). Ideally we would take it on trips to places like Charleston (160 miles) and Asheville (350 miles). We don’t drive enough locally (7-8k) to warrant spending that kind of money for local driving only.

Just found a absolutely great channel tons of good info A question for you, Sir I own 2018 Macan S and considering switch to either 2021 GTS or GLE AMG 53 What would be your choice. My main issue with Macan is size i am 6’3” 230 and 14 way seats are to small. GLE has more comfortable seats, but much less fun.........

I would go with the Macan GTS as I love the styling and drivability however if you don't feel comfortable in the car than I would look at the Mercedes as they tend to be a little bit roomier! Awesome review. I am looking to lease - going from comfy Benz E450 coupe and wife has Lexus Rx350. I prefer smoother comfy ride over sporty ride - so do you prefer any particular trim/option with Mecan? I am alo looking at Range Rover Velar as another option.

Thanks Jon! You called it I am 6ft! The bolsters on 18-way Adaptive Sport seats aren't to bad getting in definitely higher than the 14-way Powers Seats. Once getting used to them you won't notice much a difference while trying to get in. The seat was about half way back or so 👍🏼 Thanks for the support!
Awesome comparison Mason! Been thinking about the GTS for some time ever since it came out and you solidified it for me. Personally I LOVE the old school buttons and am thinking of ordering now before they're gone and am not an EV kind of guy as i need that sweet sound! Only decision left is colour. Interior will be red but to cover it in white or volcano grey with silver 21" sport classic wheels or 20" Macan Turbo wheels in satin platinum? Really like the chalk exterior too but don't think i want to dish out $3500 for it. Decisions, decisions...

great video, been looking at the GTS and does seem like the way to go , questions,,, when turning off the sports exhaust is it still a loud exhaust, ? how are the newer 2.9 engines doing ? are their any problems that have popped up? Thank you Frank! The S is an amazing car but if your looking for a little more sportiness GTS is the way to go! Yes it still sounds really good! I will shoot a quick video so you can hear it with Sport Exhaust flaps open and closed 👍🏼 So far they are doing well so far haven't had to many issues the occasional water pump here and there. Hoping the oil leak problem was fixed from the first generation... haven't seen any of those yet which is fantastic news!! Have not seen any majors issues with the latest generation 2019 and newer. Before that in "S" and above models there was more issues that arose from water pumps to leaking timing cover to transfer case issues! I am sure they have learned from these mistakes of the first generation 👍🏼 Hope this helps!
I thought this as well until I drove the GTS with sport chrono. I doubt many people will use launch control or lap timers, but having Sport+ mode in addition to Sport mode is awesome. So much more fun to drive around in.
What in Gods name is a popple? 😂 Great review. An EV Macan is dumb, they should have gone hybrid. No one who enjoys driving a performance car is not going to get an EV.
😔 Not my intent by any means just want to show what I recommend it you are getting a GTS. Towards the end of the video I mention you don't need all the options the White one has to complete the experience!

This specific video is not about reviews it’s about comparing models from a person who actually works tor Porsche, has inside scoops and loves the brand. I would recommend the Cayenne GTS Coupe as I like the overall body styling of the Coupe. But it is all preference! 👍🏼

Anywhere from $500-$2500 for standard maintenance just depends on what is due 👍🏼 every 1 year or 10k miles
Mason ... Thanks for the excellent video. Best comparison video I have watched by far. Explanation of options was particularly helpful. Trying to decide between Macan GTS and the base Taycan. Really want the Taycan but the limited and undependable charging network may be a deal breaker.

At most, I would like to be able to take it to my daughter’s in Raleigh (175 miles) and son’s in Charlotte (210 miles) and to see friends in Greensboro (250 miles). Ideally we would take it on trips to places like Charleston (160 miles) and Asheville (350 miles). We don’t drive enough locally (7-8k) to warrant spending that kind of money for local driving only.

Just found a absolutely great channel tons of good info A question for you, Sir I own 2018 Macan S and considering switch to either 2021 GTS or GLE AMG 53 What would be your choice. My main issue with Macan is size i am 6’3” 230 and 14 way seats are to small. GLE has more comfortable seats, but much less fun.........

I would go with the Macan GTS as I love the styling and drivability however if you don't feel comfortable in the car than I would look at the Mercedes as they tend to be a little bit roomier! Awesome review. I am looking to lease - going from comfy Benz E450 coupe and wife has Lexus Rx350. I prefer smoother comfy ride over sporty ride - so do you prefer any particular trim/option with Mecan? I am alo looking at Range Rover Velar as another option.
Thank you Savan! I would recommend the Macan S with adaptive air suspension this will help soften up the suspension for a softer ride which goes hand in hand with another suspension option PASM. Hope this helps! Let me know if any other questions come up. Have you had a chance to drive a Macan yet?

Thanks Jon! You called it I am 6ft! The bolsters on 18-way Adaptive Sport seats aren't to bad getting in definitely higher than the 14-way Powers Seats. Once getting used to them you won't notice much a difference while trying to get in. The seat was about half way back or so 👍🏼 Thanks for the support!
Awesome comparison Mason! Been thinking about the GTS for some time ever since it came out and you solidified it for me. Personally I LOVE the old school buttons and am thinking of ordering now before they're gone and am not an EV kind of guy as i need that sweet sound! Only decision left is colour. Interior will be red but to cover it in white or volcano grey with silver 21" sport classic wheels or 20" Macan Turbo wheels in satin platinum? Really like the chalk exterior too but don't think i want to dish out $3500 for it. Decisions, decisions...

great video, been looking at the GTS and does seem like the way to go , questions,,, when turning off the sports exhaust is it still a loud exhaust, ? how are the newer 2.9 engines doing ? are their any problems that have popped up? Porsches in the past have had the best track record as reliable , how are the newer Macans holding up? thank you .
Thank you Frank! The S is an amazing car but if your looking for a little more sportiness GTS is the way to go! Yes it still sounds really good! I will shoot a quick video so you can hear it with Sport Exhaust flaps open and closed 👍🏼 So far they are doing well so far haven't had to many issues the occasional water pump here and there. Hoping the oil leak problem was fixed from the first generation... haven't seen any of those yet which is fantastic news!! Have not seen any majors issues with the latest generation 2019 and newer. Before that in "S" and above models there was more issues that arose from water pumps to leaking timing cover to transfer case issues! I am sure they have learned from these mistakes of the first generation 👍🏼 Hope this helps!

The Macan GTS actually represents the optimum point of performance and cost in the entire Macan line-up, from the base model to the Macan Turbo.

Sport chrono is great on a 911 but adds no useful features at all to an SUV.
It does add Launch control, Sport Response button and customizable individual mode! It really depends on what you are looking for in a Macan 👍🏼
I thought this as well until I drove the GTS with sport chrono. I doubt many people will use launch control or lap timers, but having Sport+ mode in addition to Sport mode is awesome. So much more fun to drive around in.

😔 Not my intent by any means just want to show what I recommend it you are getting a GTS. Towards the end of the video I mention you don't need all the options the White one has to complete the experience!

This specific video is not about reviews it’s about comparing models from a person who actually works tor Porsche, has inside scoops and loves the brand. I didn’t hear a commercial to come see me to buy this car. Seems like your using this platform to promote another, not cool

I'm sorry you feel that way but that is far from the truth. I have not sold a single car from my channel as this is not the purpose of my channel. I love Porsche... its that simple so I decided to make a channel sharing my passion. Maybe my video style isn't for you which is totally fine there are plenty of "reviewers" out there to choose from. Congrats on a Macan, I can assure you on whichever route you decide to go you will not be disappointed!
