    Being an accomplished rider at 5’6” but now in my mid 60s, I fell in lust with the GT Low as soon as learning of its availability. At my age, I appreciate not having to worry about planting a foot at normal traffic stops. For years I became use to sliding my backside to one side to achieve a foot down. It is a pleasant experience making the machine height fit a rider physique verses the rider having to perform odd techniques to safely stop. Off road on the GTL is fine as long as you stick to manageable terrain. Mountain goat trails are for the younger, stronger riders. I love watching their skills but know I am one of the small percentage of 65+ two wheel junkies.

    Road should allways have priority over talking on a bike, well done there over roadworks. I see too many vloggers ignoring the traffic putting themselves and others in danger for the sake of a perfect shot. It's ok to concentrate on the road, explain yourself and carry on with whatever you have to say. We're here to see the bike perform, not necesarily a perfect description whilst riding. Really nice video, well done.

    Great review Dan. Another disabled rider with a 27” inseam here 😂. I have a Triumph Thruxton R which I had to have lowered to feel comfortable on and more recently a Street Triple RS which I teeter about on. However, I was loaned a 900GT Low for a long weekend and absolutely loved it the minute I pulled away from the dealers. Even I can very nearly flat foot it. Such a comfortable and easy bike to ride with plenty of get up and go. Just the wacky rev display lets it down. And after the wonderful sound track of the Thruxton and Street RS a better sounding end can would be nice. Having to hand the 900 back and ride home on my RS on a cold and windy late afternoon was actually horrible and I regretted not having bought one instead of the RS . I’m sure I would ride more and for longer if I get one.

    Well done Triumph, I can't understand why manufacturers like KTM have such rediculous seat heights as it must limit their sales quite a bit, especially on the larger bikes. BMW have however been doing this for years, but offering a seat height reduction option (which uses the same formula of thinner seat and shorter suspension springs) across the range rather than producing a seperate model so shorties like me are not just limited to just a few models which might not have all the options you want. I'm the same height as you and am now on my 3rd GS, 2 1200s and now the 1250, all have had seat height reduction. They hold their value well too because the low options are always in demand. But don't tell anyone 😂

    I tried one of these out last Christmas and knew within about 5 minutes I would buy it. Slow speed stability and maneuverability was impressive. The speed is there when you need it. The cruise control is very nice. I have about 500miles on it, and bought some panniers for it and will bring Touring my home state of Texas...

    A bike is also judged by its ability in slow moving traffic as well as low down grunt and acceleration. Not many folk want to ride at max speed. Great video Dan. It’s a bike I’m serious about moving up to from my amazing Tiger 660 sport..

    Finally I found you - a review of the Tiger 900 Low - getting to a shop to just sit on these bikes is a bit difficult right now in Canada - first they don’t have many (stock), second the pandemic has put plenty of restrictions on showroom visits (+ winters kills test rides in Canada). Again inseam measurements is the key for many vertically challenge riders (taller review riders definitely don’t get it). But thanks for all your information!

    Great review Dan. I bought a 900GT low last September, absolutely fantastic bike. I agree with you on the torque range, it seems to be from low down and then across the rev range. I went for the GT low and then added the heated comfort seat and the shift assist. I'm a short arse at 5'6" and I can almost flat foot it with the heated seat, (which is very comfortable) I test rode the GT Pro and was on tippy toes. Buy one mate, you will never regret it. Did you mention the cruise control? It's really easy to set and adjustable in 1mph increments up or down, (GT doesn't have back-lite switchgear). The fit and finish is top notch as we've come to expect from Triumph.

    Hello Dan. I’m taller than you, but a shorter inside leg - 29”. No problems on my Street Triple reaching the ground. I did a test ride on the regular GT Pro and had no problems with it - so will be no problem for you with a longer leg than me. Loved the Rally Pro, but it was just too much of a stretch. Getting a Tenere 700, normally too tall, but should work with the lower seat and lowered links - drops the height by around 40mm.
    It’s the inside seam/leg that’s critical rather than the person’s height, so thanks for providing that detail.
    Good review. Cheers.

    Hi Dan, great review and I agree with everything you say. I recently bought a Triumph Tiger 900 GT pro and love everything about it, almost. My only gripes are minor: not easy to find overall distance in the menu, turning the key to the lock position is fiddly, it is still slightly top heavy at a standstill. Last week I had the opportunity test ride the 2021 BMW GS 1250 in Paris where I live and do most of my riding. After the hour-long test, I discussed my impressions with the dealer: IMO the Triumph sounds better, is sportier, has better suspension, a way better gearbox and better mirrors and is 50kg lighter. I am 5"8. I was expecting the GS to be much to cumbersome for me BUT...strangely, upon reflection, the GS was easier to lift from it's side stand, I had both feet on the ground and it seemed lighter, it felt effortless and relaxing to ride at all speeds and was really stable and easy to monoeuvre through dense traffic and, although it felt slower, was in fact faster. It just felt more sure-footed in all situations. So, although I love this GT and would recommend it to all riders wanting a fun triple experience, I personally am trading for the GS😊

    • @Englishbikerdan

      @tonydare7614 2 года назад

      @@Englishbikerdan Hi Dan, I did indeed. Bought and sold the GS😂I did love it but the Paris speed limit keeps going down and is now 18mph! I still do most of my rinding in this area so I bought an Aprillia Tuono that I traded in again for a Fantic 500 Scambler!! Insane, I know. But I think that I have found perfection for my daily commute and weekend use. In an ideal world, I'd have kept them all in my garage! If ever you have time to test the Fantic just for fun, it is a real blast at legal speeds and weighs just 150KG fully fuelled. Take care, Tony

    Has anyone tried the Gt low off road? Love everything about the bike but no one's really done an off road review and I have head people comment that with the low ride height it pegs a lot more

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  2 года назад

      The GT is a more road focused and the low has less suspension travel than the standard GT so it wouldn't be ideal.

    5'3" female here! Looking at this bike this weekend as a replacement for my 2020 Ninja 650 KRT. I hate how vibrational/buzzy my 650 is, how is the triple engine in these? I have my hands (and feet!) go numb after a 40 minute ride right now D:

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  3 года назад

      I don't find any issues with my 850. I'm quite used to vibrations though so I'd say try one for yourself as everyone seems to feel vibes differently.

      Lol when youre shorty, you called the foot pegs as side steps 😁 completely doable if the gs is your weekend adventure bike, but when you combine filtering traffic into city centre during weekdays and adventure weekends, this is when the GT low would probably come in handy.
