I have the new 900 GT Pro, had the 800 before. By far a better bike, the lower torque is a god send. Loaded up it's great, much more grunt than the 800 at low end and instant pick up further up the revs. Has a bit more character than the 800 but isn't an issue, the toys and flickability reminds me of a street triple. So much better than the 800, I'm very happy with it.
Delararesadv Hello, glad you’re enjoying your 900 GT Pro! I have an Tiger 800XRT and as Tommy mentioned in his review, I find the mirror vibration up around 70mph really quite bad....so could you please tell me if you encounter any vibration on your 900 gt pro?
I did my first 3350km with my Tiger 900 GT (not the Pro; to much expensive for me) & i love my new bike. Perfect for me : i ride 80% on asphalt & 20% on gravel/dirt roads. Best regards from Montreal!
TommyBarnezTV : i didn’t tried it with luggage yet as my side cases racks are B.O. But i did a few nice rides with my wife (130 lbs + riding gear) : i don’t feel her; everything’s fine 👍🏻. She find my Tiger very comfortable even after a 5 hours ride. Very nice bike for riding 2 up.
I have this exact bike! Still waiting on the ride in period to know if it sings like a triple up top. For me the GT Pro made sense as a commuter. Love the gizmos and the grunt of the new engine!
Just exchanged my Strom 1050XT for a new Tiger 900 GT Pro…….. the demo was the clincher. Just found the Strom getting to be to heavy at times especially slow manoeuvrability turning when full. Great review and agree with you on weight of bike.
Nice. How do you find the move from the v twin? I'm still using my v strom 650 xt as a daily... up to 65k miles. Reason I don't have a huge push to change it is due to loving the engine and its such a cost effective option.
Love the comparisons to other machines, well done, could be a good future bike when one all rounder is called for, with ageing comes the desire for lighter bike with low seat height, thanks
I’m 60 and traded the 1200 for the 900 lol. Can’t load the big bike onto a trailer as easily, low speed stability a bit tough on the 1200, very top heavy.
Had a ride on a GT Pro 2020 recently while out on a group ride. I had recently bought an Africa Twin dct after enjoying the ride and changed from my then Xcx low Tiger. Living in Central Wales the Africa Twin has and will remain in my arsenal but I loved the ride so much on the 20 GT Pro I got myself a 21 GT Pro and it arrives next week. I will get a Fuel can ready to go to replace the stock can and will have to sort the suspension out when it arrives but at six ft seven tall this bike is so manouverable and planted at the same time with all the standard St up of the bike the 13000 price was for me exceptional value for money and will be used souly as the tour bike keeping the Africa Twin for the more adventure stuff. Totally agree with you a great bike.
@@TommyBarnezTV Never been a two's up rider because of my size really. Though I know many and am friends with many the situation to double up has never really arose in all the years I have been riding. I should say though I was quite shocked at how much better the 2020 Tiger was to the previous Triumph bike from 2018. The new bike arrives tomorrow and have been told by a few owners it is better again so we shall see. 👍
Time stamps ought to be a necessary feature of any review longer than ten minutes. Thanks! As for the bike, for me it’s one of three bikes in the running for an early 2021 purchase. In my situation, the thing that conspires against the Tiger is access to a trustworthy dealership. I neither want nor need a 21” front wheel so the V-Strom 1050 is in the running too (I’ve owned three new ‘Stroms since ‘09). All that said, if Honda would only produce a fully appointed “touring” Africa Twin sans 21” front wheel, I suspect that would be my first choice. Any advice on my thinking would be appreciated!
All great bikes! I've ridden them all though my v strom 1050 review isn't up yet. For me the tiger won on comfort and tech controls, the africa twin for fun and the v strom kinda between the two. I have a 650 strom which is my daily and due to zero problems in 36k miles I give it some extra points for likely reliability. However as you've had a few stroms it might be nice for something different. They are all very similar though so difficult to pick between. Why not throw a ktm 1290 super adventure r in the mix. I took one of those out, vid not up yet, which was pretty awesome. Stands out as more powerful than others in the mix and really was a great ride. I've seen really good deals turn up on KTMs too so might be able to get one for a bargain. I see less deals on triumphs.
Great review , I agree with all you said . I test rode the same bike yesterday and I think I might buy one ! I set out to buy a sporty naked ? This bike changed my mind . It’s soo good . Keep up the good work 👍
I had a Tiger 800XR, which was great. I traded that in for a BMW R1250GS to go long distance touring. It’s a beautiful, well balanced machine, but heavy, so I bought a 2020 Triumph Speed Twin for fun. It certainly brings a big smile to my face, but the suspension is not so good and I would have to remove the silencers to adjust the rear shocks to take a pillion. It looks gorgeous, but if I were to add luggage I’d spoil that. I’m thinking that the Tiger 900 GT Pro might distill my two bikes into one that was light and flickable, easy to adapt for a pillion and looked good with luggage.
Tiger 900 could be a good option. I rode the 1250 recently (not filmed) and had a great time on it. Heavy but with the weight down low I didnt really notice it. Have a ride of the tiger and would be good to know how you find it compares.
@@TommyBarnezTV I tested a Tiger 900 GT Pro yesterday, courtesy of Destination Triumph, Christchurch. Thanks, Guys for that! I really liked it, except for a couple of things: the new crankshaft caused an annoying vibration through my hands, especially at motorway speeds. This would make a long ride quite tiring. The electronics, such as heated grips and seats reset when you stop the bike, which is annoying if you take a short break. I didn’t ride it for long enough to test what else resets itself, but if it’s a cold day and you decide you want the grips and seat to be warm, you’re hardly likely to want the bike to argue with your decision! The TFT on my GS integrates with the GPS, which is really useful. The Tiger links to your phone, but only gives turn by turn directions - no map. I would miss that. The GS has semi-active suspension, so I was surprised when riding the Tiger to find the front forks dive when braking. I expected to have to give it more revs than the GS and was happy with the power, even though its about 35hp less. The gearbox is superb and the quickshifter is actually better than the one on the GS. It is noticeably lighter as well, which makes manual handling a joy. I also noted how much narrower it is and more nimble, so filtering is much easier. My conclusion was that I will stick with the GS until I’m to old and doddery to manage it, when there may be a new iteration of the Tiger, which irons out some of my perceived shortcomings. As far as my Speed Twin is concerned, I would like to try a Street Triple for comparison, as this might be a bit better for local use. If there is one perfect bike that does it all, I’ve yet to find it, but it’s fun looking!
@@davidbrann3581 awesome thanks for feedback. Yeah I agree with those points, especially the width when compared with the GS. I ride a v strom daily and lots of filtering and that's my one concern about the GS. Overall I have a preference for the GS on the ride I had recently over the tiger 900 but will be riding the new 1200 soon which will be good to compare to. In terms of street triple it's an absolute beast. One of the best bikes I've ridden though pretty terrible at motorway speeds, in the bends is amazing though and sounds superb. I have a couple of vids on it, most recent has an aftermarket exhaust which sounds wonderful.
@@davidbrann3581 As a Street Triple 765 R owner who's ridden a Thruxton 1200 R, Scramble 1200, and Tiger 1200. I think you'll miss the torque that Street Triple R lacks. It sort of comes alive at 6k but 8k is really where the power is. For day to day commuting it's a tad too much bike for regular road speeds and the rear sets are far more aggressive that models I compared it too. Amazing bike but more of a weekend racer. I commute 45 minutes to work on it and it does well. On the highway the Street Triple R can be buzzy too on the throttle tube 5000-6000rpms which can put your hand to sleep. Left grip doesn't buzzy oddly.
Just got one the gt.not the pro did not think the extra price for the pro was worth it for me. You can fit most of the extas if you want them great bike the cruise control great on long runs
How's the wind protection? And I know this has auxiliary lights, but how well do they work at night as compared to other new bikes with IMU controlled cornering lights?
Good review only thing I would say is it might have been a idea to know how to set the cruise control before testing it 😃 looks like a great bike. Everyone seems to be only testing the GT Pro It would be good to compare the lower GT version and see how suspension manual settings work compared to the all singing dancing electronic version Big price difference for maybe a lot of stuff that you might not use very much.
Haha part of the test is how easy it is to figure out the cruise on the fly, makes for some interesting moments 😄 Unfortunately didn't have an option for lower spec for a test, Triumph might only provide the top ends of ranges for test rides etc so that may be why there are just gt pros reviewed online. Will keep an eye out for lower spec versions of bikes for reviews though as I tend to only really think about the higher specs being a bit blinded to other options. Thanks for the tip!
Hi Tommy, today I've just bought that actual bike as an ex demo bike, considering the GT range is in short supply at Laguna and J.S Gedge It was for sale at £11,350 (plus another £350 for service/PDI and admin charge) and that includes the lower and upper engine bars (approx £500) and radiator guards (x2). I agree with you regarding the differences between this and the 800, I had a 2015 Tiger XRx for two years and the 900 GT is so much better (mind you, there is also a big difference in the showroom price between the two). I'm 5' 8"" with a 28in in-seem and with the seat in its low setting, I could flat foot each foot which I couldn't on the 800XRx where I coild only reach on tip toe. I would also mention the 900 has as standard, self cancelling indicators (option in setup), illuminated switch gear, auxiliary Fog Lights (with or without enginer bars) and a small but useful cubby box with a power socket for a phone etc under the rear seat, Cheers, Gordon
Nice one! Sounds like a good deal to me. What luggage are you going to go with? Were you test riding it this week? Was driving through Maidstone Tuesday I think and saw someone test riding it. Great bike
No it wasn't me, I live at Beltinge (Herne Bay) although I did live opposite Leeds Castle, I was going to buy the Laguna Ashford Demo bike (which was actually a couple of hundred less) but that was sold last Monday (21st), but James the saleman there, was able to have the Maidstone Demo shipped down, so I was out and about yesterday (19th) afternoon. I don't think I'll bother with any luggage this time, I've had luggage and top boxes on my previous bikes (Crossrunner, Tiger and Honda X-ADV), and have only used a top box twice, and never used the paniers. I'm retired and keep thinking I'm going to do a big tour someware (anywhere) but I don't think it's going to happen now (i'm 77), you never know though. Cheers, Gordon PS: when this lockdown bussiness is over you might find me having a coffee in the Castle car park
So did you actually trade in your Strom for this 900? Asking because I am considering this too. My experience is that the VStrom’s refinement and smoothness are excellent. No vibrations anywhere even after 10000 miles. Not on the pegs, seat or the bars. By contrast I have heard many remark that the Tiger 900s are buzzy. That is quite annoying to me. Also heat management on the Strom is excellent, while it is an issue with the Tigers is what I have heard.
I didnt :) still have the v strom - it's at 65,000 miles on the clock and still going strong. I recently bought a second bike - triumph speed triple rs 1050 which I'm loving. Won't get rid of the v strom though, it's such good value and has proven itself to be bullet proof.
@@TommyBarnezTV that speaks volumes. Just yesterday I showed my Strom to a prospective buyer and during the conversation, I offered him such an impossible price knowing full well that no used buyer would accept that price. Although a part of me wants to upgrade, another part of me just doesn’t feel that there is anything else in the market that is up to snuff as the Strom is. It really is a bulletproof machine.
Spot of good luck for some good weather down here for a raid. I am a big lover of adventure bikes and I am a fan of the look of this bike. Another great video much nicer than the 1080p ha
Luckily filmed before the weather got bad. I'll always have an adventure bike I think. So versatile, and pretty perfect for congested cities. Great visibility, presence
@@TommyBarnezTV I completely agree. Something about the freedom of chose to take on and off road for long trips or camping holidays. Don't get me wrong I enjoy all time of bike but I will always come back to the adventure.
I had a go of the Tiger GT 900, it was pretty good . ( I'm not a major adventure bike fan ) . Now I love the triple engine in the Street Triple and Speed Triple. So much so I just swapped a Street Triple (that I did like) in for a Speed Triple (bucket load more torque). To me the different firing order made this engine feel like a "lumpy" triple . I didn't like it. If they wanted a twin in their adventure bike why not just use their existing twin engines ? (maybe without the retro "air" cooling fins ). I like twins, I have a Speed Twin too. I really don't see the point of making a "lumpy" triple. Although I seem to be alone on this opinion !
Yeah I wonder why they didn't just a twin engine rather than working on the firing order. I'll have a think and ask some people smarter than me, or hope someone comments :) I did like the way it felt though I ride a V twin all the time so I'm probably a little biased with what I think feels good/right.
@@TommyBarnezTV I can understand V twins. Speed Twin does 270 degree firing order, to mimic a V twin. It's lovely. I'm yet to ride a "real" v twin. Parallel Twins with 180 degree firing can sound a bit "tractor like" (I've had a go on one of those) I like a triple when it's a 120 degree triple. i.e. not the one in the Tiger 900 !
So did you prefer it over your strom , or is it not 3k better. I would like a quick shifter on my thou but thats all . Good review. Bit dark in places on screen.
For all the tech and a bit more power I'd prefer this for longer trips. The v strom works but is a little lacking for long journeys. The dark parts of rides cause me a lot of pain 😂 I had a few videos washed out too bright for a while.
@Bikebros27 auto blips the throttle as you're downshifting without the clutch, means you don't have to manually rev match. It's a bit if a gimmick though :)
Good video, thanks. Test rode one 6 weeks ago loved it, and immediately placed an order. I'm currently on a 15 year old Sprint 1050 I've had from new and need a new bike to rekindle a slightly waning interest. Love all the tech and although on paper it's a fair bit down on power from my current bike, it didn't feel it. Geared and tuned to put the available power where mere mortals need it in the real world I reckon. I plan to do lots of two up touring on it as well as solo blats. I was initially told there was an 8-9 month wait due to Covid etc 😮😭 but someone else's cancelled order became available 😆 Due in another week or two, GT Pro in red with engine bars and full luggage. Your video is helping keep the impatience at bay while I wait!
Nice! Its an awsoske bike I think, and kitted out with the luggage its set up for some great adventures. Bet you're watching vids and looking at pics daily till it arrives 😂 Do you have any big trips planned once you've broken her in?
@@bloke-up-the-road I think a lot of us will be saving some good trips up for next year! I wanted to do Scotland this year but think I'll be doing that next year now, weather does sound better for yours though 😂
Hi David, I am currently trying to decide between the Triumph Tiger 900 GT and th Triumph Tiger Sport 1050. I want a Sport Tourer that is comfortable for me an d my wife, and I also want some fun when I am olone riding the twisties. Is there anything you don't like about the Tiger Sport 1050 that you can share ? Thanks, have fun and ride safe.
@@pimpthyride I don't have a Tiger currently, I have a Sprint 1050 sport tourer. It does have the same 1050 triple engine though. It's been a great bike and the engine is great. Mine is a little old and tired and lacks modern refinements such as ABS. I also prefer the more upright seating position of an adventure bike. So I can't really comment about the Tiger Sport 1050. I'm sure they are great bikes. I have seen in a few reviews that people find them a little top heavy when stationary or slow riding, which definitely isn't the case with the Tiger 900. The 900 GT is very light, flickable and has a very eager, grunty engine and is far "sportier" than I expected. I realise I am taking a bit of a risk as to whether it will be man enough for 2 people and luggage but I think it will. Good luck, whatever you decide.
Hope you get 1 from triumph be good to see how you get on. I am in the market for a new bike, vstrom 1050, mt09. You can never get a long enough time to see if it fits. Come on triumph.
@@TommyBarnezTV got Triumph panniers now, (top loading ones) - hardly notice that they’re on, although filtering is a no to be honest. Didn’t realise Triumph panniers are made by Givi ! Best bike I’ve ever had :)
Tried this bike myself. Liked it, but didn't love it. I had my heart set on the bike as well before I test rode it. Just seemed to be lacking a little in power. I also found the cruise control a bit finicky to work. Obviously, I was doing something wrong but I don't know what. I feel I need it for a day or so to really decide.
Haha I had the same issue with cruise control. Power felt OK for me but similar to you I'd want a longer test to see how it handles luggage and a pillion
@redline rossi Its a grower. A short test ride doesn't do it justice (my own experience). Cruise control is easy - double tap cruise button, once to turn it on, second to set it. Turn it off by just rolling forward the throttle on closed position, easy.
Hey mate, great vlog and review with value contents, thanks. Some guys complained the connectivity and GoPro feature and that it’s hard to get connected...did. you face this issues, too? Thanks and cheers
Thanks, unfortunately I've never connected a gopro up to the triumph software. I think that feature only came onto triump bikes last year with the 1200 Scrambler XE, I know its on the new rocket now too. It might still have a few software tweaks to get it working perfectly though if there are problems it would now be a few bikes effected so I'm guessing will get fixed quick? I'm just guessing there though
Great video, what is the tiger 900 top speed ? And have you ridden the bmw f850gs, if so who would win in a drag race between the f850 and the tiger 900 ?
I think it's a bit underpowered for a modern 900 triple. 95 odd hp is well down against the competition. I think it should be around 110 hp or slightly more. It also sounds too much like a twin and not like the lovely wail a triple engine produces. Too pricey too. Get the the excellent 1050 Tiger Sport instead.
You’d buy this bike if you were going to do a bit of off road like gravel roads & tracks as well as mainly bitumin, the wheels being 19” front and 17” rear you can get all sorts of tyres to suit what surface you are riding on. It also has an off/road mode for those gravel roads & tracks, so you would only buy the 1050 Tiger if you only rode bitumin or paved surfaces 100% of the time.
Researching an ADV purchase, I'm torn between this and the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S. My concern with 1290 is seat height (too tall) and weight. The KTM is 238kg with a full tank and no cargo. The Tiger 900 GT Pro is 212kg wet. I'm not sure how significant the weight difference is, but do you think the 900 has enough power for two-up riding and including full cargo? I also like that they offer "low" options for shorter riders. That's just plainly smart.
I've not ridden the 1290 Super advneture but have tried the 1290R and GT from last year and I don't think the difference will be great. The KTM has serious buckets of power. Fully loaded 2 up the KTM will be great. I think the Tiger 900 would be ok 2up fully loaded but I was unable to try that on my test so cant say for certain. The KTM has significantly more power though. The tiger felt quite a bit lighter than the ktm from memory though the ktm didn't feel like a heavy bike. Both have their weight quite low down. Have a ride on the them and see what you think. If you can get a slightly longer test ride to assess with the bike loaded up.
Great review! I have a 2018 Vstrom DL650 and have considered trading in for the Tiger 900 GT PRO. Just test the GT Pro but it was a 7 mi road/hwy test drive, really assess and compare against my vstrom...and remain undecided. In no way does the Vstrom compete with what you get with the GT PRO Heated grips, cruise, etc, etc), but I notice a different feel in the handlebars, a slight vibe and/or "vibration - if you will. I really like how flickable, light and powerful in the higher gears. Take-off seemed a bit slow than the Vstrom. All in all, this is a tough decision and just curious what your thoughts are now - given that this review was in 2020... Any feedback from other Vstrom owners who may have considered same and/or actually did go with the Tiger...? Thank you! R/Roni
So... my vstrom 650 just passed 50k miles, same as yours 2018. I dont think I'd ever trade it in to be honest, will keep it as a second bike when I get something else. The something else I'm considering getting is actually now a r1250gs or gsa second hand. I took one for a test ride recently and found it seriously awesome. I felt the boxer engine had quite a good amount of character, more so than the tiger. I've not ridden the new tiger 1200 yet. They're all aweosme bikes, no doubt about that. Personally v strom wins hands down on value, but considering how good I found the gs I feel it might be the winner, for me anyway.
@@TommyBarnezTV Impressive mileage! Actually looked at the 1250GS, hard to find frankly, but did manage to sit on a GSA w/a massive tank. Price point hits a bit further north than I'd like - but i agree, they are impressive bikes. For me - the only negative on my Vstrom - is that I wish I had a bit of extra umph especially when at hwy speeds. It's hard to find any fault with a bullet proof motor and the fact that a Vstrom just keeps going. I may do another test drive on the Tiger, a 7 miles ride is just too short. Thanks for the feedback!
Excellent video. I sorely wish I lived in such a beautiful place. I have long been a fan of the Tiger 800 and this looks like a huge improvement. I recently bought a Ducati Scambler and commute for 40 minutes through central Paris and outskirts and the Ducati seems as good as it can get for the purposes but...I am tempted to switch to the Tiger 900 pro just because it is looks far more practical and for motorway riding and poor weather. Have you tried it in dense city traffic? I spend half the time filtering and I'm concerned that the extra weight and height would be a handicap. Any views?
I've not ridden the tiger through London but I have ridden my v strom a lot in London the last few years. Pretty much daily. I wouldnt have any issues with the tiger in the city, very well suited to it in my opinion.
It is a question I have heard asked a few times in our circle of riders. I know three 2020 GT Pro owners and none have had issues of any kind which is what persuaded me to get a 2021model. Believe this or not my first job for a well known motorcycle brand besides being tea boy sweeper upper skivvy was to have an hour every day picking holes on other brands of motorcycles reviews online. I had a conscious and was laid off when I started asking awkward questions on pricing grey imports and quality of servicing. I then got to work for a different brand where I completed my apprenticeship and went on to further my involvement at a much higher level through that particular brand of bike. No need to surprise you and say I still by this brand of motorcycle today because I trust them. I was disgusted at what I found on my entry into the world of bikes and like say Yamaha at Moto gp level with valvegate recently sometimes you need to read between the lines to find the source and not believe everything you see in the media.
Hi deciding between a vstrom 1050xt & tiger 900 gt pro both 2022 models, excluding the price difference, for 90% normal city commuting, what would your suggestion be with some basic reasons would help pls., thanks
Difficult. I'll tell you what I'll give my opinion of which wins in some categories where there is a noticeable difference. Technology - tiger Exhaust note (with aftermarket) - vstrom Engine engagement riding - vstrom Desirability - tiger Looks - tiger Comfrot - tiger I think the v twin of the suzuki is where it wins. The tiger wins everything else. Between the two I'd personally go with the tiger however a bit part of that would be just because I've done over 50k miles on the 650 v strom so would fancy something a bit different. The v strom Engine is awesome.
Hi, Thanks for your opinion & thoughts, though everyone say the 900GT PRO is better I somehow always feel the Vstrom 1050XT to be more smooth, quick, well balanced & controlled especially at low revs when compared to the 900GT PRO, anyway, thanks again.
does this model have the problems of the riding modes when changing them and switching the bike off it always reset to default which meant you had to reprogram it all the time or dose it stay in the set up you program
I'm pretty sure it stays once its set up. If it had a problem sounds like a software update would have solved it by now. Hopefully an owner can comment and give you a full answer as its not something I've heard of
Hi, I test rode thuis Tiger 900 and the sales person told me about this firing sequence making it looks like a bi-cylinder low end then a 4 cylinders at higher rev’s. It sounds to me a bit like marketing story that I did not really experienced... Nevertheless, that’s a great motorbike 👍
Yeah they told me the same. Have you ridden the 800? There's definitely a lot more character to the engine between the two so whatever they did has solved that problem a bit. Whether that's enough is another question. Took out the new Africa Twin recently and that engine was aweosme, really engaging ride
@@TommyBarnezTV I tested an AT (2018MY), and yes it was a nice bike in all respects (was probably slightly better than the 900), but even with a low seat fitted, I could only reach the ground with one foot, which on a reverse camber would be a disaster (OK for you 6 footers). Cheers, Gordon
Sorry mate, thought it was visible but was also a bit far from it. Will make sure I run through it more when I take out the adventure sport. There's actually a simulator for the tft on the web that honda put together for people to understand it better. powersports.honda.com/legacy/mksa/index.html
2017 650xt - the comparison was more due to comparing the 800xrt to it the year before. A fairer comparison would be with the new 1050. This wins on tech and comfort, though the v twin is marginally more engaging. Between the 800xrt and the 650xt I found the 800xrt was much better on tech and comfort but the 800s engine was quite a dull to ride compared to the v twin. The firing order of the 900 this year give the engine a lot more character.
You didn't mention vibration through the pegs and bars T 120 kph or 70 mph highway cruising speeds. You only mentioned mirrors not vibrating..Nice job 👍
@@gordonLP test route changes a little bit depending on mood and weather but think this was Hunton, Yalding, Paddock wood and then back towards Yalding through Mockbeggar.
Ahh..I thought I recognised some of the roads, seems to be less traffic (with the exception of Seven Mile Lane and the A28) than down here in East Kent, always cars, cars, cars, still better being on the bike though. Cheers, Gordon
Yeah I'm also not really a fan of the look of adventure bikes, but their useability is awesome. I also think they look better fully loaded, expedition panniers & top box, bags, spare tyres, Jerry can of fuel strapped on the side. Thats where they are most at home
so good I'm sold, the tiger 900gt pro is my next bike... I also think your very brave stating the heated seat is for (HER) a pillion or non-binery would be safer today my friend. don't say the word MEN they only get upset.

@TriplePlay 😂
Awesome, thanks for feedback!
How is it compared to a tracer gt? Any chance u would know...
@@heibaimao sorry I haven't ridden the tracer yet
I did my first 3350km with my Tiger 900 GT (not the Pro; to much expensive for me) & i love my new bike. Perfect for me : i ride 80% on asphalt & 20% on gravel/dirt roads. Best regards from Montreal!
Awesome! How have you found it loaded up? Any 2up riding?
TommyBarnezTV : i didn’t tried it with luggage yet as my side cases racks are B.O. But i did a few nice rides with my wife (130 lbs + riding gear) : i don’t feel her; everything’s fine 👍🏻. She find my Tiger very comfortable even after a 5 hours ride. Very nice bike for riding 2 up.
@@trekkydelirium-vroom5821 sweet, good to know
Im up in Lachute, Trekky. I’m loving everything about this bike that I’ve seen - it may be the replacement for my Africa Twin.
Mate how have you only got 6k subs?..this review was up there with the best of them.
Thanks for a great review. Really love the 900, Triumph should have great sales results with this model.
Enjoyed that Tommy, for nice footage down the lanes as well. Gave a good insight in T|riumph 900 GT
Best review on the tiger I’ve seen, covered everything I wanted to see and know. 👍👍
Awesome thanks!
I have this exact bike! Still waiting on the ride in period to know if it sings like a triple up top. For me the GT Pro made sense as a commuter. Love the gizmos and the grunt of the new engine!
Fantastic review, brilliantly done 👍
Thanks!
What a great review, love this bike! i watched it on my 4k tv, beautiful quality !
Thanks!
Nice! Yeah I am debating getting one as a tour bike too. Perfect for one person. Have you tried it 2up?
Love the independently controlled heated pillion seat option
Yeah I think that's a lovely touch
Great review , I agree with all you said . I test rode the same bike yesterday and I think I might buy one ! I set out to buy a sporty naked ? This bike changed my mind . It’s soo good . Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks!
I really love this bike. Hope i will get a tiger in future keep going bro
Really enjoyed this review...thanks
Just got one the gt.not the pro did not think the extra price for the pro was worth it for me. You can fit most of the extas if you want them great bike the cruise control great on long runs
Agree
👍
How's the wind protection? And I know this has auxiliary lights, but how well do they work at night as compared to other new bikes with IMU controlled cornering lights?
Sorry I didn't ride at night time to assess the lights. Wind protection is good though
I'll have a think and ask some people smarter than me, or hope someone comments :)
I did like the way it felt though I ride a V twin all the time so I'm probably a little biased with what I think feels good/right.
@@TommyBarnezTV I can understand V twins. Speed Twin does 270 degree firing order, to mimic a V twin. It's lovely.
I'm yet to ride a "real" v twin.
Parallel Twins with 180 degree firing can sound a bit "tractor like" (I've had a go on one of those)
I like a triple when it's a 120 degree triple. i.e. not the one in the Tiger 900 !
8,000km in and I love this motor and its sound. Best bike ever I've owned.
Dumb question but you mention the quick shifter and blipper. What’s the blipper?

Yep fair review - got the same model and absolutely love it, can see why it’s hard to get a new one at the moment !
Thanks! How do you find it loaded up?
TommyBarnezTV like you I haven’t yet, I travel light without panniers or without pillion ! Happy days :)

Great Video - Are the crash bars standard? If not, what brand are they and they have the fog lights as well?
Pretty sure on the pro they are but double check with your dealer
Yes to fog lights being an option
Test it in “sport” riding mode 😉. You will have a lot of power & it will come so fast!

Not sure on top speed, I'm going to guess at 133. Havent ridden the gs and going to guess tiger - I may have raced against one previously a bit...
Yeah the price is definitely a worry for me. I costed one up with everything I'd want and it was a little over 16k which felt a lot.
@@TommyBarnezTV Thanks a lot!
@@TommyBarnezTV Thanks, I reckon that I'll make the switch.

@@tonydare7614 awesome stuff! I heard we have a deal, dont know the details, maybe something about fish, but presume all will be fine :)
Great video. Did you notice any excessive heat from the motor?
Nope 😎
Technology - tiger
Exhaust note (with aftermarket) - vstrom
Engine engagement riding - vstrom
Desirability - tiger
Looks - tiger
Comfrot - tiger
I think the v twin of the suzuki is where it wins.
Hopefully an owner can comment and give you a full answer as its not something I've heard of
Connect via triumph app and use vin to connect no problems
Multistrada V4 may better?!
Haven't tried it
Hi, I test rode thuis Tiger 900 and the sales person told me about this firing sequence making it looks like a bi-cylinder low end then a 4 cylinders at higher rev’s.
Cheers, Gordon
hm, heading to Laguna try this next week. :)
Great video, thanks very much. Subscribed.
Why explaining the tft-screen in dark modus ?? Could not see much
Sorry mate, thought it was visible but was also a bit far from it. Will make sure I run through it more when I take out the adventure sport. There's actually a simulator for the tft on the web that honda put together for people to understand it better.

Which Vstrom model were you comparing it to?
2017 650xt - the comparison was more due to comparing the 800xrt to it the year before. A fairer comparison would be with the new 1050. This wins on tech and comfort, though the v twin is marginally more engaging. Between the 800xrt and the 650xt I found the 800xrt was much better on tech and comfort but the 800s engine was quite a dull to ride compared to the v twin. The firing order of the 900 this year give the engine a lot more character.
Any engine heating issue on this bike?
None on the test ride
With my Resurgence motorcycle jeans, i don’t feel any heat from engine or radiator fans.
Watching you fly through those shaded sections on the road, I felt like I was watching the final minutes from "Lawrence Of Arabia".
what a beautyy
What about the vibration problems with this bike?
None noticeable
Thank u I enjoyed everything in the video
Thanks!
You didn't mention vibration through the pegs and bars T 120 kph or 70 mph highway cruising speeds. You only mentioned mirrors not vibrating..Nice job 👍
No issues with pegs/bars. I mentioned the mirrors as they did vibrate quite a lot on the tiger 800
@@TommyBarnezTV good job getting back to us 👍
@@kevinnashskitchen3517 i try to reply to every comment or atleast give it a love so people know I've read :)
Want to trade wheels i have vstrom mag wheels?
Hi, how about the heat coming to your knees from the engine?
No probs at all
With my riding Resurgence motorcycle jeans, i don’t feel any heat from engine or radiator fans.
Trekky Delirium thanks, im just asking because in one of the tests said this is the main problem.
szeriman13 : maybe it could be if you’re riding in shorts. Better thing is to test ride one yourself 😎.
Trekky Delirium i guess so, thinking to trade my 1200gs...
Great video nice bike stay safe 🇬🇧👍🏻
Right think I’m sold I will now need 1. 😂
bought the 800 when it first came out and part ex-d it within 6 months as way too under powered, how was the 900 for those 'instant' overtake moments?
It felt quicker and definitely lighter than the 800. Unsure how much quicker though, I'd guesstimate from memory it felt 10-15% quicker.
You found the 800 underpowered? You couldn't instant overtake people? Wow.
The average motorcycle has 57hp. The 800 has 85. Come on man....
Verry beautiful city... is IT Kent
Yes different villages around Kent mostly. Starting off in Maidstone which is a medium sized town :)
@@TommyBarnezTV beautiful 🙂
@@TommyBarnezTV Permanently congested town 😤, were the country lanes around Yalding/Teston? Cheers, Gordon
Seems like a much improved bike but the styling just doesn't appeal to me.
Yeah I'm also not really a fan of the look of adventure bikes, but their useability is awesome. I also think they look better fully loaded, expedition panniers & top box, bags, spare tyres, Jerry can of fuel strapped on the side. Thats where they are most at home
looks like you have not fitted seat properly, I have a gt
Possibly, didnt realise at the time but felt secure :)
Don’t let the wife hear you take the girlfriend on the back!
so good I'm sold, the tiger 900gt pro is my next bike... I also think your very brave stating the heated seat is for (HER) a pillion or non-binery would be safer today my friend. don't say the word MEN they only get upset.
😂
That lane filtering makes me pucker. And I’m not afraid of speed at all. No thanks.
Very common here so cars are used to bikes doing it. I wouldnt say I'm a fast rider, but filter daily so quite comfortable with it
you seem so certain its a she as a pillion
You could take a fella as a pillion if you wanted :)
15 k for a piece off shit
Does it feel undpowered when riding 2up?
Hard to say. I think it would be ok however havent tired loaded up with gf on the back. If I can get hold of one for a longer review I'll check that out
