As someone that had it at release. It’s insane how much they improved the game. Yes, it should have been this good from the start. Though I respect them for owning up to the mistakes and correcting them even 3 years later.

They had the storyline, a great game map, and it was something rather unique. People complained I even complained they offered people that wanted their money back their money back. Then overtime instead of giving up and running away like FNTASTIC just did they stuck around to it and have made this game very enjoyable. Yes, it took time, but I have to give respect to them for owning up to their mistakes and refunding people then improving their game for those who enjoyed it.
It still looks like a standard game made by an indie studio. With the current discount the price is just perfect. But the price at which they launched the game was simply a scam. They spent a lot of money on marketing. Even now they spent lots of money on edgerunner. That is the only reason why they are getting good reviews. Consider Red Dead Redemption 2. That is what games should look like at that price point
Who cares it's not GTA. No one cares that the ragdoll in Witcher 3 or Skyrim isn't as good as in RDR1 but in cyberpunk you all cry about it as if this game was supposed to be some futuristic GTA when it's the opposite
@HUNK__S bro what other game can you block bullets with a Katana and flip cars with a giant hammer. GTA dosen't have that and I will admit Cyberpunk was garbage at launch but now it's actually good after the update and it's a lot more fun than GTA now. Plus GTA 5 is getting old and boring doing businesses, grinding for money, nobody playing gamemodes, predatory microtransactions, it's made GTA stale and boring and just a cash grab.
It's better but every hour or so you'll see something janky as hell, they couldn't quite get NPC traveling to not result in goofy situations. If you stick to sidequests you will not notice it as much, especially in Project Liberty since that is much more scripted.
Gonna be honest, after beating Project Liberty entirely and beating it on Don't Fear the Reaper again, the enemy AI is nothing special. NPC AI in 2.0 is not better than GTA 5 which was released a decade ago and NCPD are still extremely dumb.
One thing I hate about 2077's cops is that they get alerted the instant you hit a pedestrian with a car, and that always happens. A peasant died in a car crash? Here's a star. Accidentally scratched someone because you went 230 kph through the city? Here's a star. And the only way to get rid of them is to hide behind a container or wall out of sight for a minute. Sure, it might be realistic to get a wanted star for every violation the second you commit a criminal act, but it's restrictive in an open-world sandbox... same with GTA. Killing an NPC on a mountain without a soul in sight? Wanted level. Let me disable them in the settings, or at least let me turn down their aggression.
That tire popping stuff seems like it was meant to be in 1.0, but never made it until now. Especially for that main story mission where you can hijack an Arasaka delivery truck, but not without first killing the driver who otherwise will not stop, and it also get a wanted level on you. Really poorly thought out "option" that CDPR put in there. At least now it seems to be somewhat viable.
Still very unrealistic how the cops keep on shooting without doing much damage at all. It's like they're fighting the Terminator instead of a human being. 😂
They are literally shooting a terminator, in this game you can implant bones of steel, armor under your skin, artificial limbs that can smash a tank...
Love how it improves, but I'll always hate how it'll forever be unfinished. When they're done updating the game tho it'll be in probably a state where people will remember it fondly, its already making amazing improvements to literally everything at this point.
About to replay and then DLC. Experienced a shitton of bugs at launch like everyone, but i REALLY enjoyed the gameplay. Looking forward to how theyve updated the combat after 3 years.
The new update is kinda lazy with the npcs. All they do is run away and cower while in GTA if they witness you comit a crime they react more than just doing a full sprint the opposite direction. In GTA an npc will watch you knock someone out then turn around and walk away at a faster pace without being in a full sprint. If an npc is paying attention to their phone they may not even react to the world around them. Nothing about the ai in Cytberpunk is as immersive as it could have been and the updates were lazy fixes to make the game seem better in the eyes of untrained consumers. And this is coming from someone who beat the game on release hoping it would get better but it mostly didn't.
