BJJ blackbelt here. And I can say Tim is 100% right. Jiu jitsu is so much like arm wrestling it’s uncanny. And being able to know what is going to happen and execute technique in accordance with what will happen, before it happens, to prevent it from happening or cause something else to happen is a tremendous skill that everybody should keep at the front of their minds while training.
Great to See you back, Tim. Perhaps you remember my Post from a while ago. I was the ill, housebound person whose biggest dream is beating his strong buddy in armwrestling. One of these days we will come together on the table. My Numbers have been going up slowly, i am at 40 kg at devons pronation lift with a pretty clean form (his was 35), 24 kg riser (his was 20), and i am pretty sure that my cupping and wrist strength is superior. Since i am the armwrestling fan and he doesnt care (yet!), i assume that my technique will be better, too. I really just want to give him a good fight, and i am pretty sure it will be at least close. Two years ago, before i began Training we airpulled at one time, and to me his strength seemed unreal, easily double. But deep inside i hope to smash him now.XD I am so hooked and looking forward to our first sessions. Keep you updated soon, even if he smashes me.:-)
Having variations of a start signal between referees/federations is like having different start guns in sprinting, or different measurements in jumping. In WAF/affiliates, there is supposed to be an induction qualification.
I spent months trying to condition my nerves and muscles to be spasmatic and go from zero to 100 in a nanosecond and the only things I did was cause strains. He is exactly right it's all about predictability. If you know the conflicting lane to execute then speed will be the strength not strength will be the speed.
Do you do any core work or any crunching/ side bending movements ?! I know with baseball if you use your hips your can generate a harder swing. Curious about the secondary muscles used in arm wrestling other than wrist, arm, lat, internal rotation
@@caseydupre5376 Hi brother. Great question. I do core work 4 times a week. Lots of side planks for the lateral trunk. The trunk and core muscles are highly involved. When arm wrestling my hip is in contact with the table as well and I’ll push off with my hip to generate back pressure on the ‘go’. 💪💥
@armwrestlingsecrets quick update, I had my first tournament today with 0 table practice and i lost the first match itself and it broke me totally to make me realise that maybe I'm not made for this sport
@ BROTHER- You just said it yourself. 0 table time?? What other sport could you be competing at with ZERO practice? That’s like playing a soccer game without ever playing on a field once. Try taking the sport seriously, get a table and practice hard. The wins will come but you need hard work and dedication to the sport. Dont give up. Best of luck in the future!! 👍💪💥
