    That's what I've noticed, too. I come from a bodybuilding and strength training background. I was a personal trainer for many years and oversaw a gym just like you.
    My hand and especially my fingers have always been my limiting factors. They weren't outright weak. But, they weren't capable of keeping up with the larger muscle groups.
    I have strong shoulders, lats, and arms, but i lose connection with my hand. I lose access to that power and running to the straps always felt like a "cop-out" to me. This is why I've focused on my hands like an absolute maniac for the last couple years.

    Wrist Wrench handle is your best friend in this sport when it comes to finger strength. Tip for the lads: have at least 1 pairs: 1" pair or 2" pair. Optional have both 😉 With having 2 wrist wrenches, you can incorporate them in regular pulls: seated rows, farmers walk etc... ultimate progress grow would be pull ups then.

    While I agree that training your finger strength is important, letting go is still something that you will need to do in order to succeed. Why would you hang on when you don't need to? There's always going to be someone with stronger containment than you and getting to the straps is an important skill to have.

      Hi brother. I personally DO NOT train hard at the table with other people because of pain. If you’re overtraining on weightlifting STOP everything and take a week off. Rest. Try taking days off in between body parts and only work each muscle ONCE per week at the maximum. Hope this helps!!
      ALSO- Try this video I made for sore elbows-

    My practice partners are all stronger me at all other exercises than what involves the hand. And by stronger I mean 20% stronger on average.
    Outside the strap I toy with them at the table, but as soon as we strap up, I have nothing for them.

    Great video. I do think maybe the genetic component of this is not addressed here though. Some people have large, long, thick tendons, and genetically strong hands, while others have mediocre hands with very strong arms and hammer curling strength. I am talking the actual thickness of the tendons connecting the fingers to the elbow is 70% thicker in one person than another. The second person might even have a much stronger cup, but to fully use it needs the strap in a low hand Toproll for example. In competition i think it is okay for this second person to not hold on and just plow backways + sideways to make a slip, instead of trying to contain the large hand of the enemy "mutant". Of course train hands, but play along your strengths💪

    How exactly and how often should you train your fingers/grip strength?

    • @armwrestlingsecrets
      @armwrestlingsecrets  6 месяцев назад

      As often as possible. I suggest 20 minutes daily, or at least about 30 minutes every other day. I train my hands EVERY DAY if possible for about 15-20 minutes total, sometimes only 3-5 minutes at a time. 🤚💥⚡️

    Hi Tim, I started doing the finger exercises for the last 12 days and my goal to hit 365 days of training hands everyday, so my question is that, should I do more than two exercises?, because I do two of those everyday, should i do less or more?, and I do 3 sets of each exercise. Thank you

    My lats are very strong, i can easily pull 70 kg or even more in dumbell rows, for reps, but I'm not a very good armwrestler anyway. So i have a very opposite problem.
    My arm always opens. That's my biggest weakness. And then my next biggest weakness is my wrists. My triceps are also very strong so i also have a very good press, but I'm just never able to get into the press, unless they let me for training purposes
