As much as I am not a fan of Mitsotakis, that woman living comfortably in The Netherlands, has no idea whatsoever, what the refugee situation is in Greece. Greece truly cannot take anymore refugees, seriously the amount of money coming from Greek taxpayers because the EU stopped caring, could have been spent on Greek people, struggling day in and day out. There was no reason for the lady to be rude and aggressive. This is not professional journalism speaking to a prime minister of another country. She must be more calm and diplomatic.
Calm and diplomatic the way Mistosakis treats refugees and pushes them back? He is getting what he deserves. If he treats people poorly, people will talk to him in a disrespectful way.

I am from the Netherlands and I think she should have realised that she's talking to the elected primer minister of a democratic country which is struggling with its own domestic problems. Common decency is really important. This is really beyond disrespectful and arrogant.
I am from Greece and i would like to inform you that this joker shouldn't be called prime minister and unfortunately our country resembles more an atypical dictatorship than democracy. Also, unfortunately, disrespectful is the fact that in Greece we don't have true journalism; to dare and ask questions that will actually have impact on the atrocities of the authorities, since instead of hiring doctors during the pandemic the government choose to spread millions of euros to the media for hiding and manipulating the truth.

This is definitively a Dutch thing. To be very rude, very unmannered, and very very uncivilized. I know this because I am Dutch. I don't know a people less attractive in these regards than any other. I stumble over it myself. I am educated on matters that I like to discuss about. But Dutch people are often very prejudice and don't know often anything about the matter. Very cherry picking, often reducing a very complex layered subject into a single thing. That's why we have not 1 but 17 million football coaches at the world cup of Euro Cup. But once Netherlands loses again, we turn our backs faster than a piece of stone falling on the ground. That's also why Netherlands lasted only 4 days in the WWII one of the shortest of all, and Greece lasted the longest of all with 219 days against not 1 but 4 countries at the same time leaving Hitler to say that the Greeks fought with the highest disregard of deaths out of any nation. Anyway. Completely shameful display of Dutch Journalism. Unfortunately a very common thing
Thank you for your comment. It is true that Greece was the first allied victory of the war, that inspired and gave hope to all free countries who watched in fear at Hitlers tyranny taking over each country one by one. According to Winston Churchill and Russia we Greeks took full credibility in the victory of the war as Hitler tried in invading our country twice! Our stubbornness forced Hitler in the harsh Russian winters that was the beginning of his fall. The world owes Greece a big thank you . But instead of appreciating today’s freedom and democracy they mock us because of an inevitable economic crisis .

It's the first time Mitsotakis has to confront a real journalist, that's why he lost control. He is the first prime minister in Greece that has never confronted the Oppositions leader in a debate or at least a journalist of the Opposition in public. He is always protected by the media, which he widely funded with state money during the Pandemic. Also, many journalists belong either to his family either they are his friends or belong to the same political party... Welcome to Greece!!

This unproper behaviour doesn't have to do with the refugees and the refugee crisis. The answer of the Greek PM illustrates the crisis of Democracy in Greece. The Greek media never control the government, never ask a proper question. Usually we hear about the vacation of our PM or his favourite food or how handsome he looks. We never hear about his tax-avoidance or the scandals that his party is involved. Greek political system with Mitsotakis is leaded to Autocracy and Police-State.

Greece has no responsibility the illegal immigrants. Turkey has millions of refugees, mostly Syrians. It was not Greece who bombed their country like Turkey did, nor was it Greece that funded, armed and/or financed terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Syria - that was Turkey, so the onus is on them to support the refugees they helped create. The same could be said for Pakistan. Just as Pakistan has supported radical Islamist groups in Afghanistan since the 1980’s and to this day still supports the Afghan Taliban and Haqqani Network, they have a responsibility for the near 3 million Afghani refugees they contributed in creating.

It’s absolutely ridiculous and not the responsibility or fault of the Greek people.
I say this, as a Greek and as a aid worker, who has experienced first hand the pathetic response the EU gave to the crisis and the ongoing crisis that continues, as we speak.
She actually lives in Greece for a long time and is going so in. depth in this subject for years! She is attacking the Dutch goverment and the entire EU government as well, but Mitsotakis is just on of the puppets who has the final power in decisionmaking when it comes to these fascist pushbacks. It is not the fault of the Greek people, of course not! They are the only human ones in this whole situation. The fault lies in the politicians, the securitization systyem, the institutionalized fascism that is going on in Greece, Turkey, Libya. That's why she is attacking HIM, not the greek citizens.

Then she glosses over the "minor" detail the Netherlands has quietly busy cracking down on migration itself despite only facing a tiny fraction of migrants Greece does.
Greece will happily forward a million migrants, per year, in perpetuity, that try to violate its borders to the Netherlands or any nation whose nationalists lecture Greece on migration. Since they support open borders for Greece what's the delay accepting them all into their own countries?

If this journalist feels so strong about refugees and is not happy how Greece is managing the refugee situation, she should invite refugees to stay at her home.

Such a dumb question! Greece wants to be able to take refugees and provide for them but when immigration is weaponized by other countries(sth that the journalist doesnt seem willing to recognize) and things get out of control then yes there are going to be pushbacks as it is allowed by law. People(usually foreigners) seem to forget that Greece had an extremely bad economy not too long ago and providing for refugees needs a lot of money. So when things get tough other european nations are obligated to help but apparently this obligation flies out of the window for most of them. It is really a pity pointing the finger to a country that tries to take in as many people as it can help and sometimes more than that and blaming it when it tries to legally close its borders when it is inevitably needed...
Bravo Mitsotaki 🙌🏻
why
@@blackstar3891 that woman should be a journalist, not an activist.
yuuuuhhhhhh mico
The journalist is dutch and she tends to activism. That's not good. Only thing dutch people have a problem with (I'm dutch) is when people lie. In mediteranean countries honour comes before anything so you may lie. In Nordic countries (Holland) lying is one of worse thing one can do. Be open about it so you have nothing to hide. Here we don't have the honour thing. So also some kind of a cultural clash here.
Bravo Mitsotaki 👏
