Haha thank you for noticing the Damascus steel blade. I spent good money on it so I could get those close up shots and know it would look authentic. As someone who does NOT wield a sword for a living (alas!) it was also VERY heavy by the end of the day 😂

I really wanted to get those close up shots of the Damascus blade so I opted for a real sword as opposed to a prop or LARP sword. It is actually very heavy!!

Great music. Great video. Only question, why is the one shieldmaiden holding her Lagertha shield, the one with the double Elhaz or algiz rune used in the TV series, upside down, turning a rune of life and victory into one of demise, which is what the reversal means?
I would love to answer this comment with something wise and cryptic like: "Victory only comes to those who first meet their demise" or "death to self is victory for eternity!"
Edit: Alas, the actual response is that I painted it upside down by accident. Now that you brought it up I was trying to recall why that was the case. I did a bit of research on Viking shields and this was one of the simplest designs. I did NOT know that's what it meant upside down! Which is actually quite hilarious! 😂 In retrospect. Thanks for the comment! The handles on the back for carrying it did not allow me to hold it the other way unless I switched arms. And I can't hold my sword in my left hand lol

A lot of "tough women" here on the Homeless Streets and Sidewalks think they are tough to burn people and beat them to break their teeth. But they do not sing the praises as the old Cultures did. Why not? Please ask an American Society and Government.

Beautiful song, but...women bearing swords, lances, and battle axes?! Women are about love, sweetness, birthing and death care. They are embracing energy. That's the only thing I see wrong with this picture. Yes, they can be warriors, but...let's hope we can very soon relegate war to the past. Make a law against ever using war again to solve human problems. See the book, Not-Two Is Peace.

@@TheNerdyFlutist I am helping not make a fool of herself or piss off those cultures that DO use face paint, and that face paint HAS MEANING. Smearing some paint on your face in the misguided belief that Vikings did that, rather defeats the feel of the music she is trying for. No one wears native american head gear to play viking, so why face paint? I like the song.
