duncancallum Sorry for my late reply. Yes, Scottish music is very popular on the mainland of Europe. We have a lot of pipe bands over here, especially in The Netherlands and Germany. Massed pipes and Drums are very popular amongst the audience. In Germany there are a lot of tattoos and shows with pipe bands.
I am senior drum major of the Music Show Scotland (the video above is a video of the show) and this production is touring on the mainland since 2007. We do a show every month bringing a three hours lasting program with Scottish and Celtic music. See for more info www.musicshowscotland.com
