I love the Doom mod community. At least half of my cumulative lifetime _Doom / Doom II_ play hours have been logged on mods like Brutal Doom and this looks like it'll be a blast.
Also would recommend the mod if good quality if you don't mind a frustrating learning curve Short story it's like an less difficult hideous destructor with a dash of brutal doom and modern survival horror
GZDoom modders are insane. “Oh yeah lemme completely overhaul every aspect of this ancient game for free without asking anyone for help or support. I’ll release this in 5 years”
This is what I like about the mod communities for a lot of games. Making whole new or reused things for said game to spice it up. Even just to have something funky

I feel like this mod needs much more reverb to the sound effects to add to the intensity. It would make you feel even more alone. Also, a mod like this for Doom 64 would be amazing.
@@G112z Yeah that's kinda the divisive part about it. HDest has a sharper tactical tone to it that LTD grinds down for a more tacti*cool* approach. It's not bad, just different.

@@G112z Indeed it is like that, thats why i like it, design of guns and stuff look amazing, yet it have so much quality that my PC run HD much more smoothly than all those mods with HQ effects, i played lately EOA and fuck i had lag everytime new animation and sound and effect loaded and had lags when doing melee. But in HD i dont have any problem for some reason

Ok question I downloaded this mod and I don't have any of those guns they are just the brutal doom guns I'm on GZdoom 4.9.9 what do I do and whenever I go to the new ver of GZdoom it says open_gl couldn't be accelerated what do I do
@@angellara7040 it's really not. Playing it rn, gotta say - you really never can hold much ammo, +your character can sometimes lose things between levels. For 8 missions haven't even found all classic guns, yet alone all mod guns.
Doom mods are the ONLY game that make me creeped out. Headphones are a major factor. It's the only game that made me hesitant about going around a corner just because I know a jump scare is coming. There is also a strange undertone to doom mods, like they shouldn't exist or you're playing a game in a dream. Lifelike modern games don't really impress me past the initial ooh and ahhh. Doom mods are impressive BECAUSE of the limitations. I feel so inspired and proud when I see what people come up with, it's hard to explain. Does anyone know of something like gzpt but finished? Already played myhouse.wad.
I remember getting that for the Nintendo NES and there was a chainsaw in that game it was overpowered if you beat one boss with it because then you would have unlimited fuel it was my emergency backup weather and I like to beat bosses with it because that was the only one you could beat the main boss the last one you could fight with the chainsaw and you would have a special animation at the end for beating it with out using bullets
That's clearly a lot of effort. Doesn't change that it looks bad, and I don't just mean "lol it looks like DooM". Looks like a bad flash animation using motion blur to cover up frame by frame issues
Well the melee weapons breaking from use make sense, I doubt the demons are like humans, you need to have a good swing to even down the imp, and the way doom guy swings really looks like he is putting a lot of effort into the swings, what you think a full mag of 556 in an M16 is more than enough to kill a Pinky? I dont think so.

Probably depends on the enemies. Project Malice would help in the horror department.
You can add fog and darkness to levels in the settings + the sound effects are redesigned as well to make things scarier.
