H2O author here :D Totally understand the difference in aesthetic preference. However, a big potential factor is that your NVR install is seemingly partially broken - many of the effects aren't enabled in your footage. Likely one of the reasons for some (not all, you're absolutely right that some of the aesthetics are non-vanilla) of your complaints. If you do decide to ever show it in a working state, feel free to ping me and I'll be happy to troubleshoot with you.
Yes I forgot to mention I missed using Neutral Weathers, and some effects like DoF I turned off because I thought it would make the footage hard to watch. In retrospect that was a misjudgment. I realize I coulda done a much better job at showcasing your mod, & for that I apologize.
@@Mutant_Mods There's actually a lot more stuff not working it looks like, I think NVR was just sort of crapping out on you. NW would make it technically "brighter" but not as saturated as whatever weather you're probably using, so yeah pretty significant visual difference there. NW is designed around having a proper tonemapper, which vanilla doesn't have - it corrects and normalizes lighting values and tints to accurate levels. Or as accurate as you can get in this antiquated game. H2O in large part relies on correct lighting in order to display right. DoF in H2O is only used for far distance, it's set up to not impact gameplay at all (no dynamic DoF when looking at stuff etc, I can't stand that crap). Either way, it's nice to see my mod showcased, although as I'm sure you understand, a tad disappointing to see you having some problems with it. Anyhoo, as I said, always open to answer any questions I can. Also remember that I worked with goshko on the terrain settings - Sandstone is in many ways designed to take advantage of NVR/H2O's PBR terrain rendering, so it was good to see them talked about in close succession. All that said - again, super cool to see H2O in a video. Thanks!
@@salamand3r- Bruh I knew the shadows were being weird, I dunno I have it on VNV mostly. This is scary news because I’m working on a video reviewing NVR. Any ideas on what could be causing NVR going limp? I will go over H2O 2nd time in a future video soon.

New Vegas Reloaded, WAP, Character Kit Remake, and the textures mentioned in this video might as well just be a whole ass remaster and that's ignoring the gameplay and sound overhauls, and the huge bug fix mods that make the game actually be able to be played for more than an hour.
The maker of the H2O preset created another Mod called SALVO that overhauls all of TTW and NV and downsizes a lot of the textures for a stable performance while still looking amazing.

I mean I'm stunned by the modding comunity of FNW. Every time they achive new step in modding evolution, I have no words. Huge respect to the modders and to Mutant for promoting them.

Half of these mods make me want to play New Vegas again. My 360 controller broke years ago. ( I know can still get a replacement on ebay or a vintage gaming shop, just haven't bothered yet .) I loved the cutting the lid off the can of beans mod, other eating animations. I loved the smoking mod, and I gave up smoking in 205. Doc Mitchell having more guns than the Gun Runners made me chuckle. Oh and the " Look at that bust, the melons on this thing, and she stays in the kitchen? A woman after my own heart" comment literally had me laughing out loud.
Idk why but I feel like Mutant should make his own characters that appears to showcase the mods with him for 3 Vegas and 4 , like they just have unqiue faces and names and that's all they like when he show a gun it could be like "Are guy Van here will demonstrate how bullet can ricochet off wall into this Powder Ganger" Or "My man Luke here will show how greatly made theses cigarette animations are"
Have you ever considered making a Wabbajack or Nexus list? I feel like you'd know how to keep that New Vegas feeling while still overhauling the experience entirely.
Most of my mods came from the ones you show on this channel. I never knew this game had so many good mods. Appreciate the editing quality, the jokes, and the good mod recommendations. You're awesome.
Great video mate. May I ask? Are there mods that you showcased in previous mod showcases you would recommend replacing with newer mods that were released after the showcase? E.g. remember when enhanced movement had compatibility issues with JAM but now that has been fixed. Have you considered making a modlist btw?
Some day I'll be able to get NV to run properly on windows 10 pro on my 6800xt again. Right now it's an absolute monster to even get normal-ish FPS on a clean zero-mod GoG install.
