You packed such a lot into your week, and shout out to your amazing cameraman, Will! York is a wonderful city and easy to get around, glad you enjoyed your time with the radio station, and it was good of them to show you the sights and tell you about the history. Those open top buses with commentary run in most major towns and cities and are a good way of getting an overview of the major places of interest in a short space of time. PS I wonder how much Cadbury chocolate did you pack to bring home? 😄
I searched and searched until l found someone that mentioned that 🤣 Everyone else was wearing a T Shirt. Obviously not all Scots were mean 😄 Loved every minute if these vids. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your positive comments on our beautiful country its been a pleasure to have you and I hope you come again and go to Cornwall and Devon if you do .
I know there's differences between the US & UK when it comes to food, but who knew they have a completely different technique with knives & forks 😂 Orange 'mash' = Rutabaga in American.
@@antonyberry1632 It's because the American way to use them is to put the fork in the Left and right with the knife as we do to cut. Then they put the knife down and switch the fork to their right hand and eat the food. Well that's how it's supposed to work, but rather than do it, most seem to ditch using the knife and just try and cut cut etc with the fork in the right hand. Someone really needs to show them the British or European way, it makes way more sense
Joel please come back but have a safe journey home, it’s a real pleasure to watch your vlogs. You are one hell of a nice guy, natural and honest about stuff. Be safe at home and I look forward to watching more of your videos. Take great care. 🙏👍
So now you know it doesn't rain every day and our food is fab. Go tell the US the good news. Glad you had an amazing week. Hope to see your adventures in Wales next time.
Great way to end, that Sunday Roast looked great, and well done to YO1 radio for looking after the boys. I think you can some more videos out of the trip though, if you and Will reflect on what you noticed about differences between the UK and US, perhaps weather, trains, shops, pubs, night clubs and the people you met, all those different accents. Talk about them and illustrate with clips where you can. Well done and come back soon.
Yay,,,, you made Yorkshire pudding boats.! The only way to do it!!!! It’s like human instinct.😁👍 glad you had a great time on this side of the pond. Lancashire Uk 🇬🇧

Glad you enjoyed your first trip to the UK Joel. You crammed an awful lot in ...a real whirlwind tour..and yet you only scratched the surface really. As you no doubt realise, although the UK may seem pretty small compared to the US it is bigger than you might think, extremely diverse both culturally and geographically. Hope you will want to come back again and visit some other regions, perhaps at a more leisurely pace next time.. Safe journey back to the States.
I just watched all your UK vids in one sitting. Australian here, with UK ancestors. My grandmother was a first gen Aus. Loved all the vids. I should have commented on each separate one. I get my UK fix watching Escape To The Country on TV RUclips. We get so much great British TV here and eat similar food. Oh the Sunday roast my grandmother, my mother and I still cook sometimes. Might the vids again😊
Yeah what Americans call bandaids we call plasters. It's a shame you didn't check out Wales & Ireland too, you would love it in these places too. But glad you had an awesome time tho Joel. 👌
You've got to hit Liverpool, home of the beatles, unbelievable architecture, super friendly people, night life second to none, right on a river. You would love it.
I would so love to see a vid of you both learning to actual use cutlery lol. I worked in the US for a few summers so know its not just you 2. Attacking a Sunday Roast like 2 cavemen sends shivers down my spine lol. Glad you liked it though, there really is nothing better. Hope to see you over here again very soon
I am really glad that you had a great time in the UK. Hopefully you will come again. It has been fun watching your travels and your reaction to the encounters you have had.
Great content Joel, stumbled on channel by mistake, short but packed with interesting clips, you appear mature beyond your years, your parents must be so proud, if half Americans are like you then the world is a better place, I have scrolled through some of your old content, it's on point, off the charts, look forward to future vlogs take care safe flight to 🇺🇸 USA from Stansted.
Loved what your mum said in the email. Loved the phil Collins song 'take me home' i bet your family are glad you are home. Take care and come back in the near future 👍🍺🇬🇧🙏
Loved my visit to York. My late partner was a Yorkshire man he was going to take me back to show me his York. Sadly that never happened. Glad you enjoyed York and the UK. Lived watching your Vlogs
@mary carver Not strictly true though is it? There's plenty of food that "Europeans" don't use cutlery for. For example, a bread appetiser in restaurants is normally broken by hand and dipped, in say, olive oil/balsamic vinegar. Pizzas are nornally eaten by hand. Plenty of finger food is eaten by hand. Burgers, Kebabs, Fried chicken etc . The list is extensive. What I do find funny/strange is how many Americans use cutlery. It's sometimes like watching a child first learning how to use them.
The sunday roast looked liked a microwave meal with aunt bessies frozen Yorkshire puddings. You can tell by the slices there's not a big piece of roast beef in the kitchen. That meat was sliced by a machine in a factory & cooked weeks before you ate it. The radio guy with the sreet-food stall however, THAT was proper food.
Great video, laughed when you said your finger cut was a result of shaving! What the hell are you using to shave with, a scythe? Glad you enjoyed your trip and enjoyed the night life (Is that a hickey I see on your neck, when you're doing your outro on the train! Ha ha ).
As an Englishman, I’ve really enjoyed watching you and Will experience and enjoy my country (and Scotland). I’m glad you had such a great time here and will be back in the not to distant future. The guys from YO1 Radio really looked after you, which was great to see and they made you very welcome. Before your U.K. visit Joel, I have to admit to only watching your vlogs intermittently, but when I heard that you were coming to the U.K., I wanted to see if it met with your expectations. Now your visit has come to an end, it seems to have exceeded them. Come for two weeks next time and see so much more. I feel as if I’ve really got to know you so much better and both you and Will come across as thoroughly nice guys who also happen to be incredibly polite. Your parents must be very proud.
Really enjoyed watching your visit to the UK so glad you had a good it. May I suggest an idea for a future reaction video for you. There must be something on here that shows how Americans use cutlery ( knife and fork ) compared to how British people use them, watching you guys trying to eat food is unbelievable, how you make a simple task look so complicated, difficult and messy. And you never know, you might learn a thing or two. Thanks again for your content, keep up yhe good work.
Never will I tire of watching these videos, its sheer enjoyment, no bad language, manners, actions and from young fellas too its is quite miraculous! Talking manners though, maybe watch how we use our cutlery, don't fold your meat up like you are building a tower, use your knife to cut the meat and add to same what is on plate. Keep yorkshire pud on plate when it is with a meal and again add the food surrounding it to a piece of the yorkshire you have cut off! The holding in the hand bit is done when a yorkshire is sold 'on the street'! All your meals looked fab, especially the fish and chips with the exception that in the North West of England the fish would be cod not haddock. Mushy peas?? Oh these are a definite, lol, spread on slice of bread and butter with a couple of chips - bliss !! Come back soon boys and at some point make sure you visit an indoor northern food market - brilliant!
What a great last vlog from your week in the UK. York is beautiful as are the Yorkshire folk. Thanks to Will on "steady cam". He did a great job and stayed chilled throughout. Glad you enjoyed your visit!

Scapegoat Hill is a high-up village near Huddersfield on the edge of the Pennines. When the weather is clear and sunny, you can easily see the sun shining on York Minster, 40 miles away. It glows brightly on the horizon. I have enjoyed watching your travels in Britain very much. You and Will will be most welcome to return as soon as possible. You are both delightful people. I'd love to meet both of you, if I'm still alive. I'm 69, so don't leave it too long!

WELL DONE YOUNG JOEL & WILL, I'm glad you both had a blast, the joy just shines from your faces.. Lots seen, but so much more to see next time eh! Lovin' the posts, as always, it would be interesting to see what you took back home with you and your Lil Bro's reaction to your 'haul'.. Best wishes from Wales :D
You're not bad for a Yank!! I mean that sincerely as an English Scotsman, bit of Welsh and Irish, dutch and French thrown in!! Joel, you are a natural, how did you get that radio spot??
It has been wonderful following your progress throughout your visit to the UK, and seeing my country with your fresh perspective. Thrilled at just how much you enjoyed and appreciated the scenery. Hope you come back again soon, and maybe next time you will visit us in Manchester. Best wishes to Will and thanks for his excellent camera work.
So pleased you enjoyed York. As always said, us Northerners are a friendly bunch. Sunday dinner yes, not Sunday roast looked delicious. I believe the thing you called a chip was parsnip and the bacon wrapped around sausage is called pigs in blankets. Your potatoes were roast potatoes. Cover in hot fat/oil salt and roast in the oven. Some say par (part) boil first.
Yup part boil, drain then give 'em a little shake to rough them up and make the surfaces a bit gnarly to form the ultimate crisp shell with fluffy spud in the middle when you baste them in the hot meat fat from the roast and bung 'em in the oven while the meat rests.
I never parboil the potatoes prior to roasting them, but always use duck or goose fat when cooking them, and I've only ever been complimented on them... They generally only take an hour on the floor of the oven whilst the meat is in. But cook them how you like them; as with a lot of these things, there is no right or wrong way...
In my 9 years stationed there I managed visit every one .... The most beautiful setting is Salisbury Cathedral. Each one has so much History but Canterbury takes the prize for that!
Lincoln Cathedral is amazing. With it's long-since-gone central tower it was the world's tallest building for over 200 years and it was the first building to be taller than the pyramids in Egypt. Stunning building.
Amazing Videos! I have not visited the lake district yet but makes me want to go! Next trip come explore the south Portsmouth, Dorset to Cornwall (summer time ☀️)
Hey dudes, what's going on. I think you guys are amazing. Your personalities really shined through on this trip even though you must be knackered. How to spot an American in a restaurant....they cut their food with the knife, put the knife down, transfer the fork to their right hand. Dead giveaway. I know this because I was married to an American for 15 years but she did realise what a waste of effort it was. You should definitely edit a montage together of your entire trip. Don't care how long the finished video is, I'll watch it from start to finish. You guys are great ambassadors for your country. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
You have made the same point about the K & F issues - as you said a dead giveaway when you see that. These young men from the USA have just discovered the life of a traveler going anywhere in Europe - thier eyes are opened wide as dinner plates when they see all the history in every place they visited and much much more that they did not see.
@@brianlowes7325 social media has it's bad side, but Americans have been stifled of knowledge about the outside world for a long time. Their news is more about entertainment than a news program, they are brainwashed and indoctrinated into believing that the USA is the greatest country in the world and just accept it as the truth. But more and more of these young people are educating themselves in the way that Joel is. It's a wonderful thing. I think their government is going to have its hands full with this generation as people are waking up and realizing that they have been lied to for so many years. Good luck to them. ✌❤🇬🇧
Hopefully next time you can bring your brother and when you are back home can finely tell your fellow American's are food is not as bad as they think. Safe journey home and don't forget to fill your suitcase with goodies to share back home with friends and family 😂

I know there's differences between the US & UK when it comes to food, but who knew they have a completely different technique with knives & forks 😂
Orange 'mash' = Rutabaga in American.
Looked like mashed swede and carrots. Have that every Sunday with roast dinner.
I think it was prob. mashed swede
I did.
I've noticed most Americans can't use cutlery properly just seem to use a fork
@@antonyberry1632 It's because the American way to use them is to put the fork in the Left and right with the knife as we do to cut. Then they put the knife down and switch the fork to their right hand and eat the food. Well that's how it's supposed to work, but rather than do it, most seem to ditch using the knife and just try and cut cut etc with the fork in the right hand. Someone really needs to show them the British or European way, it makes way more sense
My wife and I were married at York Minster in 1977. It’s a great place…and so says a Lancastrian.
I'm Scottish so glad I didn't get shot when I was in York. I loved it down there 🥰🥰🥰
Yay,,,, you made Yorkshire pudding boats.! The only way to do it!!!! It’s like human instinct.😁👍 glad you had a great time on this side of the pond. Lancashire Uk 🇬🇧
glad you had a good time Joel! Hope you come back to London to see more of it and maybe even say hi to you haha
Brilliant Vlog! Can see by your neck on the train you experienced some British hospitality 😂😂
Mmm...explanation required!!
@@peteregan7864 It looks like a 'love bite' ( as we called them when I was young)on his neck. It may not be, but i'm fairly sure that is what Ricky was referring to.
Maybe they are BF's
Glad you enjoyed your first trip to the UK Joel. You crammed an awful lot in ...a real whirlwind tour..and yet you only scratched the surface really. As you no doubt realise, although the UK may seem pretty small compared to the US it is bigger than you might think, extremely diverse both culturally and geographically. Hope you will want to come back again and visit some other regions, perhaps at a more leisurely pace next time.. Safe journey back to the States.
Great to hear you enjoyed north Yorkshire. 👏🏽
Safe Travels Mate. Glad you enjoyed the UK. All the best 👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧🇺🇸
Glad you got to see British food isn't trash, can finally break that American misconception
Yeah what Americans call bandaids we call plasters. It's a shame you didn't check out Wales & Ireland too, you would love it in these places too. But glad you had an awesome time tho Joel. 👌
So glad you enjoyed york I'm a yorkshire lass and I'm proud of my roots x
God's own county! 🙂
You've got to hit Liverpool, home of the beatles, unbelievable architecture, super friendly people, night life second to none, right on a river. You would love it.
@Ste Devo. This Yorkshireman recommended a night out there to Joel.
the Scousers are NOT friendly lad
@@anonymous99923 They always were to me, but then I have a northern accent and they did not think I was talking down to them.
I was born just short way from York. So it was great to see it. Live in Sweden now and miss Northern England very much.
Gravy on yorkshires
I would so love to see a vid of you both learning to actual use cutlery lol. I worked in the US for a few summers so know its not just you 2. Attacking a Sunday Roast like 2 cavemen sends shivers down my spine lol. Glad you liked it though, there really is nothing better. Hope to see you over here again very soon
Lol 😂 ditto lol 😂
I am really glad that you had a great time in the UK. Hopefully you will come again. It has been fun watching your travels and your reaction to the encounters you have had.
I must say guys you did an excellent job with with your videos on your visit to the U.K. I enjoyed every video.
Thanks for visiting UK Joel i enjoyed the vlogs .come back soon 🇬🇧
Midwest Americans and yourself both shared videos from York at a similar time. Would have been awesome if you'd met.
Have watched each vlog……so pleased you like the U.K., my home, and that you both had fun and felt we gave you a good welcome! 👍❤️
Every Christmas Eve me and my family walk round the city walls for the exercise before eating loads of turkey and rubbish. It normally rains.
Loved watching the pair of you discovering some parts of our country - please come back soon xxx
When I say that Joel DEMOLISHED that Yorkshire Pudding, it would be an understatement.
@mary carver They could do with a lesson in how to use a knife & fork!!
@mary carver That maybe because he is not European(!) Let him off, he can enjoy our food anyway he likes.
Ha ha ).
I came to the comments to see if anyone else mentioned Joel's neck 🤣
Sad your leaving both. Its been great seeing you react to being over here in Blighty! Have a safe trip back guys.
Yes! I said to visit York! Glad you did I live here!
Really enjoyed watching your visit to the UK so glad you had a good it.
May I suggest an idea for a future reaction video for you.
There must be something on here that shows how Americans use cutlery ( knife and fork ) compared to how British people use them, watching you guys trying to eat food is unbelievable, how you make a simple task look so complicated, difficult and
messy.
And you never know, you might learn a thing or two.
Thanks again for your content, keep up yhe good work.
I discovered this channel just as you arrived in England and followed your whole journey, enjoyed every vlog and subscribed, wonderful 👏👏👏
You experienced the hottest day in the history of the UK with no Air Conditioning 🤣
Glad you enjoyed your visit!
yeah we call them bandages or plasters here not band-aids ahaha love the series man glad you enjoyed it here in UK
So chuffed you’ve enjoyed your trip to the UK 🇬🇧 😊 Am especially glad you enjoyed York , including your Sunday lunch ( and Yorker pud wrap 🤗) . Hope you and Will got home safe. Take care lovely boy !!!
Mate, I am honestly so sad this has come to an end! 😂 Glad you guys enjoyed your last day and enjoyed the trip overall. Also hope the recovery is going well, I know it takes some time getting over the jet lag.
Amazing week Joel, thankyou so much for all of the vlogs on Patreon and youtube, you have definitely spoilt us. I'm so pleased you had an amazing time in our country and I really hope it has inspired you to come back again. Keep doing what you're doing joel. Lyd x
So glad you got to visit my home town l love York so much I moved here from London 5 years ago and never regretted it it's the most beautiful city I know
So happy you had a good trip around the UK and safe trip back hone
It’s a shame you didn’t visit Wales and Northern Ireland. The countryside in Wales is just as beautiful as bath and Scotland.
I'd love to see Joel visit bigger cities in his next visit. Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol, Brighton, Cardiff etc :)
The next time to you come to the UK you should visit Devon, Cornwall and Wales. Stunningly beautiful places
@@darthwiizius drool
@@darthwiizius Man knows his spuds!
And the orange mash would have been swede and carrots.
Your reaction makes me realise how lucky I’ve been to live here for over 70 years!
There is a lot of cathedrals in the UK.the Lincoln cathedral is really massive and impressive on top of a steep hill overlooking the city.
I agree - so many beautiful cathedrals in Britain.
Next trip come explore the south Portsmouth, Dorset to Cornwall (summer time ☀️)
this series is great. i've seen other american travel vlogs and this was the most fun
Followed this trip via the blogs, looks like you had a great time.
I'm so pleased you enjoyed York, such a lovely city. Us folk 'up North' are generally a nice bunch and usually very friendly 😀😀
Your always welcome to the U.K. and Europe. Glad to see you embracing your European cultural and historical heritage.
Hope all your memories of the British isles was more than you hoped for, well done lads! 👍
Hope you enjoyed you’re time on our shores. Make sure you visit Lancashire next time. You’d love a night out in Manchester.
York is a lovely city. Went a few years ago, and would love to go again.
A train ticket from London would cost more than the flight to the Trumpish States
You are both such genuinely decent young men..... though I'm not surprised you feel sick after all the rich food!. It's a pleasure to watch . Thankyou
Hope you both had a great time.....
Safe journey home....😘
10/10 lads…my favourite vid of yours…amusing, informative, great quality…hope your trip back to US was ok..looking forward to more of your travel vids..
