Getting stuck in mud & almost rolling over on hills are part of operating machines. I miss operating machines sometimes. Did It for contractor for GTE back in early 90s. Case maxi sneaker and ditch witch 6510.thanks for sharing. Brings back memories. Glad u git machine out of hole.
Had a A10 go down in GA when I was staioned there, had a excavtor 2x that sixe stuck kinda like that trying to dig out the a10s gun..... None of the tracks were above the quick sand/mud, they left it over night didnt get to see how they got it out
Now that's some bad slop! It's good to see someone concerned about the equipment. Most people would have beat it into the mud bending every piece of sheet metal there was then cuss at it afterwards. You're a good level headed operator! Nice job, Stay safe, John
John Myers that's because he owns em lol he breaking his own equipment for dang sure and yes he is a good operator which makes me believe he wouldn't hurt it even if it wasn't his
fuckin love the positive attitude with this and the fact you can laugh about shit you've done to yourself. I try, i end up saying bad words at high volume.
The power of an excavator always impresses me. Nice video on how to ‘unstick’ an excavator. Of course, it’s always nice when you have another excavator on site.😂
While not enjoying watching it - its comforting to see it happens to the best of us! Good to see you remaining calm and thinking rather than what most of us always do!!!
Well, yes you got the excavator stuck. But hey, that was a fine job! I think it can safely be blamed on the muck - I believe it totally attacked you! Good news: Your front window and total interior still looked very clean! OK. Very impressive escape: digging yourself out of the mess and pulling yourself up as you did. No joke. Respect. I think you were in at least 4' deep.
That was some slippery muck. Good job. That boys and girls is how the man you call to get you out, gets himself out. You didn't see him call someone else to get himself out, did you?
I love how much of a man you are to show when things get a little tricky, Nice work Matey and to show how you do it says allot about you Brother, keep up the great work and stay well, if you work close to the edge your gunna get sticky some times, I know who I would prefer in the machine? you or the Arm chair wizards that the lounge chair is the closest they get to the action, Horses are the same
Close enough Chris. But I'm sure I can say, " We had faith in your ability to get that Volvo out.!" Man , that was a bit of bother for you. All the same, that 160 is impressive, loads of hydraulic power on that one. Of course, it has a good operator too.
Ever use a track chain? Hook a tow chain into the track plate then anchor that chain to something solid, then winch yourself out. Tried it on a dozer once, worked better than I would have thought.
A small tip for next time if you want it. Use some branches and a tree or two to spread the wight of your machine so you dont get stuck. Greetings from Norwegian excavator operator. PS: liked you video on the beaver dams
Know what that's like? It's the drummer's equivalent to having to play super quiet all night. You gotta dig yourself outta the swamp, so to speak and get to that paycheck. :D
I'm an old geezer now and I don't want you to think I'm preaching at you but in this video it looks like the far track was on better ground. Swing left and boom down hard on a flat bucket bottom raising the near track out of the muck. Swing forward and reverse track the far side at the same time and you're out. I've done it I don't know how many times with one track in the soup to the cab like that and the other on solid ground. No clawing around slinging slop or slipping and sliding back in trying to push or pull yourself out. If one track is on solid ground it never fails as long as you can reach solid ground with the stick in close. It's track as you swing and it works good without stressing the hell out of things or wasting time with the low side sinking. By doing it this way you can usually travel further than the length of a track also. Cheers and keep up the videos. It gives us old timers a way to pass the time since nobody wants us in the seat anymore. I don't see what being half blind has to do with it would you? LOL I like your videos son so don't take this wrong okay? I thought it might help you out down the road that's all.
Have to admit he seemed to making hard work of it, why keep turning back towards the soup, and trying to push himself out, and not achieving anything, when he was already pulling himself out by using the bucket to dig in on the dry ground, or was this just for show to make it seem worse for the cameras and us.
Just going through some of your older videos. That was almost unnerving! There is no bottom to that after the first 24 inches of soil! Good thing it wasn’t any deeper! Yikes! Of course,,,,,,, that would NEVER happen to you NOW with 4 extra years under your belt!! Hahaha. I remember my day abandoning an old tandem manure truck that was stuck in something like that! Almost buried the biggest John Deere 4x4 tractor back then, 1981 or 82. Just got it and I remember 400 hp. Dad was so proud of that tractor and scared shitless he was gonna bury it! He said f*ck it , and he hated that truck anyways! We would rob parts off of it when we needed as we had 5 trucks like that at one time, it was an automatic and the rest were 10 speeds. Only think left was a frame, some cab parts, the suspension and the transmission when we finally decided to pull the rest of the truck out! It really was a gutless wonder! Heh heh. Mud can be the most merciless crap to work in! Good to see you only had a dirty machine! (And maybe a small stain in your shorts!) haha.
Nothing more frustrating than what this video just showed. I just had this happen to me, but I buried a John Deere 550k. Mud was at door level about to roll in.
I'm not too familiar with tracked excavators, but it seems they must not have a way to lock both tracks in? Seems this could be very handy, maybe to stressful on the teeth? An inquiring mind wants to know.
Try grabbing some old logs or big branches and Laying them cross ways in front of your tracks, they will act like mats and you'll walk right out of that mess!!
An honest man! Good to see someone who doesn't mind showing his mistakes. Nice job gettin' her out!
That would have been absolutely terrifying!
Thanks for letting the up and coming operators (like myself) see that mistake.
"Holy Shit Batman!" LOL The 160 was angry. good job!
Great Video. For General Utility work you can never beat a good Thumb and bucket Combination. Keep up the good work!
Saw the Facebook post... glad you captured video! Well done.!

That mud was mad! It wanted to keep you there. Good job getting it un-stuck!
Kurt
Wow that was the most exciting video you've done. Glad you got it and you out of there in one piece.
YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN PISSED IF SOME BODY ELSE HAD DONE THAT!!!!.GOOD TO SEE YOU GETTING IT OUT. EVEN THE BEST CAN MAKE A MISTAKE....SMILE 😃

It’s good when a person can laugh at himself.
Good operator right there. Nice work Chris

Nice job getting out. Ya gotta love swamp mud

I was holding my mouth just right to help you get out . Good job in getting out.
By golly, looked like you were going back in for an action filled minute😎
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that gets heavy equipment stuck!
Whoa ! ... most excellent and calm extrication ... Respect Brother!
That shit looked like it was chasing you faster that you could dig out!!
The power of an excavator always impresses me. Nice video on how to ‘unstick’ an excavator. Of course, it’s always nice when you have another excavator on site.😂
I was convinced you get it out
We all to get stuck in a hole sometimes, to remind us we're mortal.
Well done ! Thanks for sharing :-)
Battle of the Volvo vs muck…
Now we know why your so good at getting others out of the mud…!!!
That was awesome great job, now that's the kind of videos I enjoy. Keep up the good work and show more hands on videos.( I mean work videos )
Had my feet and hands a jiggling my air controls to help ya there lol
Good thinking !!!!!!!! no point trashing the machine !! The Presence of mind to know when it needs assistance
good job getting it unstuck, a couple of times I was holding my breath for you.. well done
That was a ride. Good work!
Good recovery!
I'm always surprised at how fast that little volvo can swing it's arm around.
Good hydraulics on those excevators, fast workers. :)
Deere is faster that Volvo actually (If that somehow makes it better?)
Well we saw her coming out, I wanna see your facial expression when you went in!
I like these stuck videos. Can you do it again?
🤦🏽♀️🤣🤣🤣
While not enjoying watching it - its comforting to see it happens to the best of us! Good to see you remaining calm and thinking rather than what most of us always do!!!
well - relatively calm..... :)
yup, been there as well...Always carried a 100 foot chain just in case
Having been in the same shape I sit here straining to help it walk out. LOL
I had to laugh as you got it moving. could have been sloppier ya'll. good job on path clearing. that is a very nice machine.
I think I would be looking around for a good long reach for jobs like that
Very impressive!!!! Good job!!!

Even good operators can have a bad hair day . Still you got it out on your own , good stuff .
even the best operators have "off" days... reminds me of trucking trying to back into a space and that space just not wantin me there...lol
Been there!
Smart thinking stop while your ahead most operators dont have enough sense to stop until their house is buried up good job
Close enough Chris. But I'm sure I can say, " We had faith in your ability to get that Volvo out.!" Man , that was a bit of bother for you. All the same, that 160 is impressive, loads of hydraulic power on that one. Of course, it has a good operator too.
Reg Sparkes I was still a touch worried when it didn't pull right out lol
Awesome video!
Wow! Looking 7 years ago and now, I know where you got your extrication skills.
Ever use a track chain? Hook a tow chain into the track plate then anchor that chain to something solid, then winch yourself out. Tried it on a dozer once, worked better than I would have thought.
Du bist ein sehr guter Baggerfahrer!! Deine Videos sind klasse.
A small tip for next time if you want it. Use some branches and a tree or two to spread the wight of your machine so you dont get stuck.

PS: liked you video on the beaver dams
Corduroy
Dang Man , You did it !!
Dug in deep, you comming out quik nice...
As long as tracks are turning youre good. If they get packed do whatever you aint going nowhere.
a little touch up paint and a pressure wash and it never happened.
***** I used 2 mcdonalds cups and a creek. like new in 10 mins no paint required!
letsdig18 Good job.
Lol. Good feeling when it starts to move.
that calls for a nice cold beer after that rescue.
All i got to say is "damn"!!!
You are getting pretty good at getting stuff unstuck lately. Lol hopefully your luck changes.
great job I know it is personal to get yourself out. A sense of pride.
Darn beavers!!!
Holy shit batman is right. Damn son,,, when you do a thing you do it proud.
That was intense.
Know what that's like? It's the drummer's equivalent to having to play super quiet all night. You gotta dig yourself outta the swamp, so to speak and get to that paycheck. :D
Holy 💩 Batman. 🤣
At least you had the sense to quit while you were ahead.
Hurray very nice recivery
Good job Chris.
You found some real Loon shit.
That was scary!
Good job getting er out! Was Batman your camera man? :)
It's amazing how you can get stuck in a full track vehicle
Holy shot, time for a good clean
poor volvo only ONE track spining
damn beavers
Keep calm and dig on
You could use some Posi-Traction in that thing. Imagine, a kid from Carolina without it.
Does get the blood pumpin' when you are down like that. Knowing it can get way worse real quick!

I knewd you could getter done. Don’t worry buddy, I almost rolled a Terex 1130 dozer back in my day. Stuff happens!
I know the feeling
Your not stuck, you just can't backup! 🍺🍺
Wonder why the other track wasn't working? Not enough pressure to work all hydraulic cylinders and both drive motors?
Just going through some of your older videos. That was almost unnerving! There is no bottom to that after the first 24 inches of soil! Good thing it wasn’t any deeper! Yikes!

wow that was some stuck shit right there. I notice only one track was driving is it not a posi drive on them?
That was crazy.
OK, stay the hell out of there!!
stuck??? just momentarily delayed!!! :-D
I hate when that happens! Don't know about you, but the whole time I try to get unstuck, I think what a Dumass I was to get stuck in the first place.
nice video! good job bro
There isn't a pattern developing here, first the dump now the 160, what's next. Great job getting it out.
Brian Whitney the dump truck gets stuck on every job so that's really nothing new lol
Try grabbing some old logs or big branches and Laying them cross ways in front of your tracks, they will act like mats and you'll walk right out of that mess!!
WOW!!!
that must suck. how often do you get your machines stuck?
machinery master it happens. just gotta know when to stop so you don't make it a pain to get out
I’d like to work for this guy
