Still play in cover bands to “scratch the itch” but music runs in my blood and that’s what I think about when I wake up and before I pass out. Sorry for late comment!! But what a humble guy Nikki is!!! “It’s easy for you, but I couldn’t even play it!” Sitting next to another humble guitar God! What a fun and informative show. So grateful for both of your guys life experience!!! Gift

Dokken and Ratt were my favorites through the 80's on the Glam Side Crue started and stopped with Shout for me perfect Metal record . But I was also a big fan of Metallica up till Justice and also liked a lot of Anthrax and Slayer and when I play I sound like the Heavier bands I mentioned . But wanted to be George Lynch my Guru and the 10 fret stretch Warren DeMartini but I gravitated back to the speed Metal with Power chords and screaming solo's Priest , Scorpions showed me how great bands sound live and what a great concert sounds like didnt miss either band on Tour from 83 to 92 !! Zakk is a Beast but he loves his Blues Metal side and he's made some great Riffs and solos with OZZY ......

That's what's great about being a guitar player. The "soup" they were talking about. Who you are and what you love will flow out of it, just dont THINK about it, lol. At least that's how I feel. I'm early Ozzy, Maiden, The Melvins, The Ramones, Hank William's and Slayer. We'll see what comes out. The important thing is that we like it. I enjoyed your post, great topic= influence and conscious versus unconcious projection.

Love the show Nikki. We a similar age and a former guitarist due to finger injuries to my left hand being in a Mechanical disaster career. This lighten things up and reminds me of what we grew up with. Great guests. Zakk obviously. I also love you giving Jake from Gretta Van Fleet some exposure. That kid is going to do well. Thank you for this Nikki!

This is very good. I love the positive vibe, for guys like me who don't play as much, but still love it. Building guitars, B and G benders, and doing the occasional "play rock star" gig.
Its refreshing for somebody to acknowledge the guys who never achieved super success.

Zakk is SOOO new Jersey. Growing up in the garden state, there is a different way to thinking that is pervasive to our state, and a way of communicating that is a bit combative. Listening to Zakk just makes me laugh because he is so NJ and Nikki is all west coast, laid back.

I saw Zakk at the "No More Tours" tour in New Orleans with Ozzy. One of the best guitarist I have ever seen/heard. His hair was constantly spinning 360 around his head and the ear splitting artificial harmonics. A force of nature. Then he went and did the country thing and I lost track of him. A truly amazing guitarist who in my opinion has reached the "Rock God" status.🤘
