Another great episode, It's time to see Warren Demartini, Slash, Nuno, MICK MARS !!! plenty of inspiring guitar players. Nikki your aweosme man !!! the only thing I regret is that I didn't had the chance to see Motley Crue Live :-(
I saw Buckcherry for the first time live two years ago ... and they DESTROYED!!!!!!!!!! ... Stevie is a great hard rock player ... they were cooking on stage !!!! another great interview Nikki !!!!!!
Mick Mars was a total animal, all on his own. Anyone that disses Mick or doesn't pay attention to his playing, probably need their ears fixed,or just needs to play more til they really see. Mick is and was a phenomenal guitar player.
I think this is a great episode. Nikki asked great questions and Stevie D had a wealth of information to share. They seemed to really enjoy doing this episode too. When that shows it's a win win for both the show and audience. I really enjoy this show. Very unique and informative.
Angus Young plays with neck pickup on Ride On and also Night Prowler..... Also Stevie D gave the best advice " Learn the whole neck.. Learn to play a lick all over the neck"
It’s fun to suck!! I love it!! I’m a drummer and have played for 3 decades, sure I’m good, but when you’re rough it sucks!! “I’m a frustrated guitar player” - Stewart Copeland
Hey Nikki if you're out there I want to work for you guys coming up this tour Let's Jam sometime I live in Torrance I'm always at Guitar Center Hollywood checking out guitars
I almost forgot how cool sixx was but I didn't he's the funniest host in glam bass history because he's cool and it doesn't matter if I hadn't heard him speak in 15 years. Same funny appreciation for all things spoken I his press ce
Does Stevie still use and love his RocknRoll Relics? He’ll never see this. I know Billy and Sully work together on some stuff but still totally different guitar types.
Rory Newbrough , a lote of today's country have identical rythyms to 80s metal, just slowed down and "red necked"... Many of them were influenced by the same rock bands. The Eagles, for example, were somowhere betweene folk rock and country. George Straight did a lot of Elvis inspired stuff, and Garth Brooks was all over the place.
That's very unfortunate... I always admired his guitar work, but information about his life is so secrete. Thanks for the reply. If you have any other information, I would love to know.
Sully was never ( friends ) with Robin, He met him a couple of times but they were never friends.... Sully told the whole story himself in one of his really old RUclips videos....Don’t know we’re Nikki got that info from??
Sully Guitars my sincere apologies man, I don’t remember making this comment which is one of many reasons why I quit drinking.. Sorry man it is embarrassing
Don't like his band but dig his style of playing. Kind of funny - nearly every dude that comes on says they like UFO but no one ever plays any UFO riffs.
GREAT JOB MR. FAVE EPISODE YET. STYLE..laid back but edgy perfect combo mf s yeah I have experience in that field and you ain't got it right man I'm really happy somebody did Perry Parris.fb. I said Austin Texas
I didn't interpret that part the way you did. He said he hated that his mom always wanted him to play Stairway for house guests. It would be very difficult for a guitar player to hate Stairway to Heaven.
This dude played those AC/DC riffs in the wrong position - a lot of Angus and Malcolm's riffs are played in open positions in the first few frets, not higher up on the neck.
Mick has carried Motley Crue since day one through his great guitar playing, because Vince neil sure as hell can't fucking carry a note. Tommy lee is just an ok drummer. Nikki is the brains behind Motley Crue as far as song writing and lyrics but he isnt much of a bass player. Mick is a great guitarist and it shows because he carries the rest of the band.
He's right. Nervous and shaky vibrato is a sign that the guitarist is not that good and not very comfortable with the guitar still. It has to come naturally.
I agree with the "nervous and shaky" vibrato, I had felt that way for a long time and I remember Paul Gilbert talking about it as well in a video from a long time ago. Kirk Hammet (in my opinion) has embarrassing vibrato, but he can write some damn good riffs and his leads aren't bad either.
Yeah. I hate it when guitarists change the vibration rate of the vibrato as they hold a note. They get faster and slower as if they don't know what they are doing. And Kirk Hammet is one of those. I think most of these thrash guys are not really that good. They figured out a power chord and tried to make it sound "evil" by moving them up and down by also alternating them with some open E chug chug sounds.
Stevie D is a really underrated guitar player. Great interview.
My favorite guest so far. Killer player and Stevie D is obviously a humble guy.
yes he is met him 3 times ...real cool guy.
just found this channel today and it rocks so much! Wish it was still going!

Bout time someone have a tip of the hat to Mick Mars!
Mick Mars was a total animal, all on his own. Anyone that disses Mick or doesn't pay attention to his playing, probably need their ears fixed,or just needs to play more til they really see. Mick is and was a phenomenal guitar player.

Good shit!
i use the Amazing Slow Downer.. It works great !! Great Interview !!!
Who was he referencing with the nervous vibrato?
Cool guy
This has the same philosophy as me. Pentatonic major and minor blues scale, and work around the chords. I never could do the Randy Roads thing.
Does Stevie still use and love his RocknRoll Relics? He’ll never see this. I know Billy and Sully work together on some stuff but still totally different guitar types.
Yes, Billy and I have worked together in the past (and likely in the future) and I'm such a fan of what he does (huge Jetboy fan, too). :)
Need Mick,George Lynch,Warren Demartini would be awesome
Thats so fuckin cool! I was at both of those shows!!
20:06 chicken pickin stuff LOL
Like it or not Nikki your band spawned a lot of us. lol
Angus young has vibrato like Eddie has tapping it's that good
Exotic EP booster should be on every rock players pedal board! lol
Nikki you should invite slash on the show
Guns are still touring, though....

The nervous vibrato! Truth. Hammett is def nervous.
I want Stevie D as my teacher
Buckcherry is such an underrated band.
Check out Charlie Hunter. Amazing jazz guitarist
He should get the greatest guitar player ever on his show,Frank Marino, hands down!!!

Hey Nikki you need to check out Dana Bradshaw he won the Zakk Wylde contest a few years ago hes badass get ahold him holy can he play
how about getting Samantha Fish on for an episode!
Neck pups 👍👍👍
PLEASE GET BRAD PAISLEY ON HERE!!!!!
He’s so underrated but he can shred like Eddie Van Halen
Rory Newbrough , a lote of today's country have identical rythyms to 80s metal, just slowed down and "red necked"... Many of them were influenced by the same rock bands. The Eagles, for example, were somowhere betweene folk rock and country. George Straight did a lot of Elvis inspired stuff, and Garth Brooks was all over the place.
i didn't know he have filipino blood. rock on.
Really?? Definitely don’t look white or am I crazy lol
Please have GEORGE MF LYNCH ON HERE NIKKI!!!!
Nikki should get Frank Marino from Mahogany Rush on the show and Eric Bloom,Buck Dharma from Blue Oyster Cult On the show.
His mannerisms remind me of Sammy Davis Junior.
Yell at me if I'm wrong, but I believe that most modern guitar music is based off of Blues.
If there is one guitarist I would like to see on My Favorite Riff, it would be Brian Patrick Carroll.... aka Buckethead.
Phil Hazlewood he’s not well right now. He’s really sick.
That's very unfortunate... I always admired his guitar work, but information about his life is so secrete. Thanks for the reply. If you have any other information, I would love to know.
Chicken flu?
Sinister Gates please
Sully was never ( friends ) with Robin, He met him a couple of times but they were never friends.... Sully told the whole story himself in one of his really old RUclips videos....Don’t know we’re Nikki got that info from??
Seems like you missed a few details.
Robbin and I didn't become friends when we first met in late 1990. We met again and became close via a mutual friend in January 2001.

If the first scorpions song you play is rock you like a hurricane, then you’re not “really” into the scorpions
Wow, such an elitist
You seriously need to get Derek St Holmes on that couch............seriously.
Fly mick out from Memphis and get him on the show
Mick is in Memphis??? Say whaaa??
I didn't know Steve-O played for Buckcherry. hell ya, I thought he was Dead
Hated Stairway yet loved Zep IV??
Stairway is on IV
I didn't interpret that part the way you did. He said he hated that his mom always wanted him to play Stairway for house guests. It would be very difficult for a guitar player to hate Stairway to Heaven.
the black in black breakdown
The guy is about to bite the host at any moment
This dude played those AC/DC riffs in the wrong position - a lot of Angus and Malcolm's riffs are played in open positions in the first few frets, not higher up on the neck.
Nikki, Get Wolf Hoffman from Accept
I hate Buckcherry but it’s a good episode.🤙🏻
love this but the dude plays ac/dc wrong
...plays Back n Black wrong...
you know what I mean?
Sixx*
Mick mars
Mick has carried Motley Crue since day one through his great guitar playing, because Vince neil sure as hell can't fucking carry a note. Tommy lee is just an ok drummer. Agreed!

Many famous guitarists have it their whole career . . . like Mick Mars, actually!
bring darren jay ashba and saul hudson!
lots of talk of guitars maybe play one sometime
Tom keifer would be rad to see and bring Joe Perry back
Buckcherry is pretty good but the Josh Todd new band is terrible.
probably bc keith nelson isn't in JT and the conflict. he's a fucking awesome guitar player
...right?! Which is crazy, because his first solo record was on-fire.
Josh is so bad he's good
Shredding is just noise it's not a killer groove with a great sounding kick ass lead. That's AC/DC
you guys really need to give Malcom young some props when you talk about AC/DC
robin bailey filmed before he passed😔
On the Scott Ian episode Malcom was given props at length
Guy has Nerve taking a Swipe At Joe Perry. Run along Little Boy.
Cause they dont slide it ha
nobody 'hates" playing Stairway! Its stupid not original and stolen from the Blues brothers!!!
