Below is an Amazon link to the dash cam. I made the mounting brackets from aluminum plate. The DVR module that comes with the dash cam, is mounted in a plastic box under my right armrest. Everything is contained neatly under the right armrest. There is just a power cable running to it. It can be powered by 12 VDC or through a USB port.
For simplicity and a quick test, I originally ran the cameras taped to the chair with wires and power bank and DVR in an armrest bag. It worked well enough that I put in the work to set it up so it would be easy to use. I don't even think about it anymore, but next time I get hit and run by a car I hope it will catch the drunken jackal.
It's also nice to have video of fun stuff that happens when you don't expect it. But no useable audio.
