I'm confused a bit..What if we want to get fit overall and not be out of breath so quickly in general (i guess it's called endurance), what kind of exercise should we do and still get to limit stress?
Thanks. I’m taking your advice and cutting down on cardiovascular to just stressing the joints and tendons a bit but without any significant breathlessness. The HIIT I reserve for my favourite equipment, the rowing machine.
Dr Ekberg... I love the way u talk,so clear I understand it very well. Thank u very much u are there ,to help people understand very well what we don,'t know!! Thanks for all ur effort!!! We love u so much!!! I can feel ur so kind.😌
Thank You, very informative , i train HIt 5 days a week for 30 min and i dont know if this is too much for my body but i only continue working out if i feel my body is in a good condition.
It is more than you need to be healthy, but if you are training for some event and feel good it should be fine. I did hit almost every day when I trained for the Olympics, but that wasn't to be healthy.
Dr. Sten Ekberg, Thank you for your videos, they have been very helpful. I'm trying to understand cardio vs. HIIT. In another video, you noted that anaerobic exercise burns sugar vs. aerobic which burns fat. Is weight loss achieved faster doing cardio every day for long periods of time, or doing HIIT a few times a week? Or, should I do both?
Hopefully you can do a video on weight training. Reduce to a few minutes each session so not to invoke cortisol and not go to failure each set? It would be great if we can get some guidance. Thank you Dr. Sten. You don't seem to have done a video on weight training. i suppose it would be a similar philosophy to HIIT. I've reduced my 45 min workout to 20 min max, reduced each exercise to 2 sets (experimenting trying to get the most from the least). I'm not pushing as hard either and I'm thinking 20 min is too long perhaps. I'm happy with my physique so just trying to maintain and not lose muscle. For HIIT I just do 5 X 20 on, 20 off on exercise bike but i plan to transition to hill running or bike up hill HIIT.
@@commandernoodles2367Low Intensity Steady State Basically the opposite of HIIT People will often use it to describe the Anaerobic activity the doctor refers to, but should be the actual low intensity Aerobic he refers to.
Very informative! I've been enjoying your videos. Just wondering if you could do some more on muscle response testing, maybe some helpful tips..... Thanks :)
Love these videos Dr Ekberg, What is the best diet for a high intensity workout like for a marathon training and for a runner everyday diet?? Is it keto, higher carb, low carb, intermediate fasting, Omad or some other diet? Thank you.
During the recovery period can I play lower intensity sports (which don't stretch my muscles to the limit) without sabotaging the recovery and muscle building?
Maximum oxygen uptake. Vo2max. This is gold standard for measuring your cardiorespiratory fitness and health rusks related to heart as well. The higher vo2max number - the better. Some Elite athletes may have up to 90.
I wouldn't say you're trying to use it up, then the body just have to replace it. If you burn up the glycogen you just get hungry. You want to get fat adapted and create stable blood sugar. I think for most people the majority of exercise should be low intensity, without huffing and puffing, with a little bit of HIIT thrown in.

You are really really really good. Very focused and in a mild way very encouraging. Thanks!
Thank you, that was about the best explanation for that that I have heard, very clear
Thank you for letting us know. If you have a request for a topic feel free to ask and we will do our best to make a video on it.
Just finding these older HIIT videos from before I subscribed. Great resource!
Very interesting connection with the brain and exercise. Thanks doc
Thank you
Amazing as always. and I can see the videos are improving day by day. I love the info. Thank you.

My epiphany was the Mark Sisson brand of paleo, primal. 2x low carb meals, lift heavy things and HIIT.
Your accessible advice has helped too. 👍💪
Oh wow, glad I found this one. You can ignore my question on your other video, this one answers it.

Mike Mentzer and Arthur Jones said all of this in 1982
And it needs to be said again.😀
Dr Sten EKberg, I came on your after watching Your Picture and became your follower. oh, I forgot, I am healthy.
Thanks. Glad you're healthy. Keep it that way.
I have a question Doctor: For FAT LOSS would you recommend HIIT or LISS (Anaerobic or Aerobic) for the fastest and best results?
Both. You can’t do HIIT every day. Do HIIT a couple days a week and aerobic cardio the other days.
what's LISS?

great info dr. sten

We are planning to do that. Thanks for your interest.
Ya 5 seconds in and I feel like I'm having heart attack! I think I'll start on treadmill. Is this still good? I have never exercised. I'm 54
How many reps of hiit should I do?
Thank you for this clear way of explaining.
Keto eating plan and HIIT both together. I'm be ready for ☀️ its Winter in Australia 🇦🇺
thank u for this v

is punching the heavy bag a valid HIIT?
What do you think about jump rope? Can I do it if I want to lose weight?
Can you illustrate with your own HIIT regime?
Enjoyed this video. Very informative and clearly stated. Would just mention that the excessive hand gestures tend to be a bit distracting.
Thank you James Wolf.
Try closing your eyes and listening.😜
... dr. you never speak about vitamin K2??? Why???
What is the best way to increase your Max V02?
Probably lots and lots of mileage with some HIIt mixed in. Just remember that fitness is an adaptation and not necessarily the same as health.
What's vo2? Is it the same as hiit?
Maximum oxygen uptake. Vo2max. This is gold standard for measuring your cardiorespiratory fitness and health rusks related to heart as well. The higher vo2max number - the better. Some Elite athletes may have up to 90.

Dr. Why the the HIIT videos I see here on yt sometimes it's long likes 30 to 45 minutes. Is it considered hiit
I'll bet you he didn't restrict his workouts two to three a week when he was an Olympic athlete.
Dr is the 400m repeats runs good for hormones?
