Unfortunately it’s tough to do that in this world of constant firmware changes. Last thing we want to do is upload the file settings with 1.0 firmware and someone brick their camera attempting to install it years later when they’re on firmware 3.0
I just like to watch even that I don't have the camera (but I dream to have this camera). Now I'm with a Sony crop sensor and investing in good full frame glass. So when I save enough, I will buy it. But thank you Jared for been so helpful to the community! Your work is awesome.

I've just bought mine and the AF has blown me away (coming from an X100F, which I still adore). A stellar performance from you will enable me to come to terms with the camera's capabilities so much quicker than trial and error, more often error, in my experience. 40:58 there is another reason: fully manual optics obviously do not get recognized so you have to enable this setting since the camera thinks that there is no lens attached

Hi is it possible to record video on a Sony a7 IV on two cards, but I want to define Other each card's Picture Profile. I mean Card 1 recording on PP2 - Card 2 recording on PP11?
Other guides are available. Michael the Maven's, for example, has been up since January for which your wait would have been considerably shorter. I haven't found any guides for the α7 IV that thoroughly go through the menus like the series Robert Valenzuela did for the R5/R6.
I’m switching from canon to Sony because of the more affordable lenses. I like canon but can’t justify the price on some of the lenses. Hope I’m making the right choice going to this camera. I only really care about photography and not really into video.
A note about the 26:00 aspect ratios: When you select a ratio that is not 3:2 (the full sensor ratio), all it does is adds a crop in camera. When you bring the cropped file into editing, the original full aspect ratio is actually still there, and you can change the crop back to the full image size if you want. Thats why I'm fine with changing my aspect ratio for composition reasons, knowing that the whole sensor is still capturing at 3:2

Best tutorial period. I came from canon to the a4 and I’m so excited but the buttons and display are so foreign to me and i followed along with this and it is so easy. I do real estate photography and getting into more video now.

This is my first hybrid camera and I liked that the beginner material wasn’t dumbed down to the point I lost interest and stopped watching. You missed one really cool setting in the Playback menu that shows the focus point during playback. Playback / Playback Option / Focus Frame Display. Apparently it's a new feature to the Sony A7 IV.

I would like an accessibility feature to read the Fstop and shutter speed. I have low vision for reading, but love photography, especially with a zoom lens to see birds up close. Can’t read the numbers on the screen without having my face embarrassingly close to the screen.
Wow, this was REALLY helpful. I was so confused when I got the Sony A7 IV, so many buttons and functions that I could not comprehend. But thanks to this video, I managed to understand almost all of them. I was coming from another A7 IV tutorial video from Jason Vong that left me with more questions than answers, and after that video it felt impossible to learn how to use this camera.
I've been looking for this elusive A7 IV everywhere! Like it doesn't exist! FINALLY, this morning I got an email from sony they had some available and put my order in! LEGIT so stoked!! Full on ditching Nikon which is basically everything I have after my entire DSLR life & essentially starting from 0 again....Moving on & moving forward I want to do more video content / hybrid style w/ photography.
So sad that in europe, we don't have 25p in XAVC HS... Only 50p -_- If it was not for the crop, I would actually shoot everything in 50p, with 360° shutter and 180° for slow mo, just because files are smaller 😅

Help please.. Currently A99 user thinking of moving to A7iv but hoping to use my existing a mount glass. Sony 28-80 f2.8 sam, tamron 15-30 f2.8 G2, and tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2. Has anyone done this with tamron? Thinking the LAEA5 would be the adaptor to use.. Budget wise can't do any more glass until next year.. so thinking camera and adaptor. I process the video from my Sony A7 IV with the Topaz Video AI program, achieving excellent video stabilization and an absolutely smooth full-frame picture at 59.94 FPS (having converted the video using this program from 29.97 FPS).
Idk why the dial that have the lock doesn’t work, does it comes off or anything like that, I never use it cause I have my camera by default but if I try to use it just doesn’t do anything? Any help idk if there is any extra lock or something like that
did u use any noise reduction in post editing for any of these pictures? I just bought the new A74, and on my first test shoot using flash, i am noticing harsh noise out of camera (ISO 250, F4.5, Speed 1/250 sec.) color profile ST and uncompressed file, DRO mode on. Do u know what settings I am missing? Thank you
So you’ve ripped me away from 25 years of using Nikon, I tried the Z6 and Z6 ii and I couldn’t get on with them commercially. I now use both an A7 IV and an A7RIV. It’s a high learning curve but I’m happy so far.

Question for you, I have a ZV e10 which I have a few lenses for (apsc of course). It is 24 mp. I just purchased t the a7 IV, but I have no full frame lenses. If I use the a7 IV in apsc mode, which is going to take better photos? I believe the a7 h has 16 mp on apsc. Excluding mega pixels the a7 is a superior camera so I’m wondering if mega pixels even matter?

I upgraded to the A7iv and a handful of Sony, Sigma, and Tamron lenses, and I have been packing in the knowledge that you share in your videos (and editing most of my photos with your presets). Release w/o lens is for shooting with old manual focus lenses via adapters. These adapters have no electronic contacts and the camera thinks there is no lens
@@Lilturf214 I've done comparisons since I posted this. DxO Photolab is a very solid replacement for Lightroom. I use it for what I would have done in Lightroom, and occasionally (for more experimental/non-realistic goals usually) do further post processing in Luminar Neo. I'm editing 33MP RAW files from an A7 IV, and have a very small catalog in Neo so far. It is working well when I need it, on a Ryzen 9 3900X with fast SSDs and plenty of memory. No idea if it will continue to perform well with thousands of images, or on larger 66MP or 105MP images.
Disappointed for the first time, got all the way to video section just incase I learned something new and did, but must say that there is a massive function I did know about that you just brushed off in lens comp, best sony setting ever come up with and it was missed, breathing compensation, seemed a starter video but more a jarred way why go through things like how to turn it on and then skip other stuff a beginner maybe interested in?

You want to have release without lens enabled if you have vintage mf lenses on an adapter that you want to shoot with

This camera gets very hot, it gets hot normally and there is no way to fix it😓😓😓😓😕😕😕😕😕🤬🤬🤬🤬

I got this far!. Note if you want to use the S&Q modes you will need a V90 SD card. They will not work with V60 or lower.

16:59 mixing input and output - unless you are referring to the physical connector plugging IN to the port as 'input' LoL.

Unless you have a super computer, Luminar Neo is not for you. I have an i9 12900H and a 3070ti and it is still not enough.
