- We finally get to try eating Mountain Lion for the 1st time! We grilled some Cougar backstrap and tried it. Other than overcooking it, the meat was great! I can tell you it is kind of weird to think about the fact that this animal we are eating ate by killing other animals! You can watch the hunt for this Mountain Lion here:

Just a suggestion gentlemen. Next time you fry bacon a couple of times get you an old ice try and pour the strained bacon grease in each compartment for later in the fridge. You can later add that to wild game burgers and sausage links.
Id be interested in seeing the cleaning of the mountain lion, or how you are going to prep it for taxidermy! Love the content, keep it up!
Do you hang your mountain lion before processing? If so, for how long?
I’ve eaten cougar before. It tasted like a cross between turkey and pork. It was surprisingly good.
Cool it to 160F hold that temp for 3-5 minutes and your in the clear. Trichinosis is prevalent in bears and cougars.
Also... eating predators isn’t that uncommon. I’ve got a black bear and cougar in the freezer, the two out weight how much deer meat I have.
You need to add some rusk '' bread crumbs'' and either pork or beef fat to the burger mix ...it wont be as dry...I have the same problem with venison, it needs bulking out...

Just killed my first cougar on Friday, and, am gonna eat some today! Heard it’s just like pork. And, I’m typing this out before finishing this video...so, it’s lean and kinda dry... Eating cougar is eating at the top of the food chain, for sure!

Steve Rinella of Meateater constantly touts about the flavor of mountain lion meat. Always places it on the top of his list. I've heard a bunch of other people claim the same thing as well.
The burgers looked good if I ever try mountain lion that's how I want to try it because burgers are my favorite food.

@@OfAllThingzFooty in the case you dont want a dry burger. Cat taste like pork so i thought it would be best plus people add pork fat to beef when they grind less fatty cuts. Just tastes really good the fat
It looks and it really tastes more like veal.
Went on a mountain lion hunt in Utah and brought the hind leg home. I cooked it all over a fire and it was much better than pork

I don't know if it really describe a mountain lion as invading humans it's pretty rare they're very solitary and rarely seen when they are seeing it's not great but it's not often
Remember that we are predators too, and on the other hand of things we are the invaders of other animals land.

If you dont face real facts, your just believing fake info. Fact is, Cougars can only be what they eat. It's a fact, they eat Rabbits, Game birds, Deer, etc. Your only eating what you would hunt regularly any how. Kick it up. Use a wok, eat it boxed in salt water first then worked teriyaki style n rice. Good stuff!!

My husband killed a cougar about a month ago. (No hounds actually he killed it with his bare hands haha) i cooked it like chicken fried steak and lawdie that was the best meat ive ever had. With the exception of prime rib but cougar is right up there with it 😁

@@alphonsozorro7952 i was joking. He shot it with his rifle. However there was a man who recently killed a mountain lion with his bare hands and it was not ill it was quite healthy.. It attacked him and he choked it to death.
