XC1: Visions of the future plays over most story boss and all super boss themes XC3: Chain attack theme plays over all boss themes except the final boss theme, And the menu theme interrupts every area theme XCX: Overdrive plays over every single boss theme, including the final boss and every unique superboss theme, and the flight theme interrupts every area theme
RB38 the game got good at chapter 8-12 but everything before that was sorta mediocre. That said I LOVE this game and the more boring chapters are really just for foreshadowing, and that makes them cool.

Yeah, the game really picked up in its latter half. I really, REALLY want a sequel to this game for that reason. So much of the first half was basically the humans getting their bearings and settling in for the long haul. Not exactly boring, but not exciting either. There is so much potential for the sequel to surpass this game. We still don't have all the answers for how Mira kept the Ganglion and those little anteater alien allies trapped on Mira or how all the races understood eachother. We don't know why or how Lao washed up on a beach in what appeared to be a fully functioning undamaged MIM (Mira?) Then there's the post-credit scene with MIMless Elma exploring the Core finding that trashed room and her convo with Nagi (or was it Chausson? Been a while) over comms can be summed up as: 'We (humans) should all be dead'. There are SOOOO many unanswered questions. But it doesn't end there! The Ganglion were part of the Samaar Federation, they're going to have a bone to pick with humanity because (to my limited knowledge of criminal enterprises that I glinted from TV crime dramas) the Ganglion must have served a purpose in the Samaar Federation (if not, why were they part of it? Ergo...), now they're dead. Humanity robbed this group of whatever uses and services the Ganglion provided and served. They won't be happy. Potential conflict for sequel. THEN there is this intergalactic community those little anteater aliens just GLOSS OVER when you first bring them to NLA after rescuing them. Some sort of authority in this community is going to want to meet and congratulate the race/people who just eliminated the Ganglion, a CRIMINAL organization. If not that they'd at least want to make sure Humanity itself isn't criminal and that this conflict the Ganglion lost wasn't criminal in motivation or cause. There's a plot for the sequel, first game was about humanity settling into their new home on Mira, sequel can be about Humanity getting introduced to, ingratiating itself, and finding their place in this intergalactic society. AND WE ARE STILL NOT FUCKING DONE! Elma! We still know Jack about Elma! She came to earth and gave humanity the technology needed to survive the war coming to Earth's doorstep. Why? Is what she did even LEGAL according to intergalactic law (which, come on, has to exist.) Is she part of the Ghost Federation that opposes the Samaar Federation? If so that is another reason for Samaar to go after humanity for the Ganglion's demise there. Elma could be seen as Humanity being part of the Ghosts giving them more reason to point their guns at humanity. If Elma broke intergalactic law by giving advanced tech to humanity that could be another conflict in the plot and even a way to get a message across in a much better way than the first game did. Humanity consciously choosing as a whole to stand by someone who isn't one of them in the face of overwhelming opposition whose firepower and influence is beyond human comprehension. Nintendo is sitting on a potential goldmine that could possibly, possibly, lead to the kind of sci-fi world we haven't seen since the star wars EU was still canon. Slim chance, but it is there and that is huge. Edit: forget a second game, I'd read the hell out of a fanfic that covered all this. Might just write it myself, would be a fucking massive project for my first foray into writing though.

Some people didn't get the game for whatever reason, the Switch's higher processing power would allow for better visuals, and putting it on the Switch would open up access to many more players, and the Switch is the relevant console and is selling much better than the Wii U.
