10:10 DON'T USE SUPERGLUE, IT WILL FOG UP THE LENS!!!!!! This happens because some of the elements are not made of glass, and as the superglue solvent evaporates, it attacks the lens modules and destroys them. Ask me how I know. I made a naked O3 for a super small quad build recently and the lens got loose after a crash. I added a microdrop of superglue and it destroyed the lens completely! Lesson learned I guess...
Since you removed the lens, do you see an ir cut Filter at the back of the lens or on top of the sensor? If, i wonder if i can buy one remove the ir cut filter an make the cam full spectrum. Maybe add an ir Filter to create this nice ir Look. Thank you for your Support.
B7000 perfect for securing Lenses or any kind of small cable on Fc or any other wiggle stop. B7000 stay a bit flexible when dry. Can also be used as coating on some parts. Great Video 👍👌
i bought many O3 filters, just to protect the lens, they will take the initial impact, i have some of those cracked or scratched already, o3 lens still fine!
Thank you so much. I believe that because of your work company’s like fllywoo gonna start selling joust the lens. Personally I’m always going for your choice when swapping damage camera lens
What threading is used once you unscrew it? Could we "mod" it and use a m8 or m12 lens? Obviously that'd change the built in stabilization and whatnot but you could make a new gyroflow calibration. The stock lens is 2.34mm f2.8. I'd love to fit a 2.1 f1.8 in there for some better indoor/lowlight. I've put the lens from the anlaog caddx rattel camera in a few action cameras for this same purpose and it works really well. Sharper, wider, brighter lens.
When you disassemble the camera, did you see an IR cut filter? I can't tell from the video. I'm wondering if this camera can be modified for infrared (for flying at night with IR iluminators).
I wish you would have shown how to attach the mipi cable to the camera module. i can only rely on the visual aid from your video as to how the cable is positioned and do not know exactly how to attach it properly. I am going to be attempting this fix shortly and that has always gave me an issue. Great video and content as always.
After a small falling from 1m to floor there is no image transmission signal on Avata 2 to goggles 3, telemetry is transmitted without problem. RC/HD signals are good. Reset/firmware update didn't help. Checked camera cable to gimbal and board they are OK. Drone only flies up from floor to 1.5m height and hovers. No moving anywhere from RC Motion 3 controller. Before falling I could see inner storage on drone in goggles 3, after falling - no. Is there any thoughts?
Be great if just the lens was avail too for $5-10 . But hey this is great option . Be worth throwing one on the basher quad at least ( and keep the oem for a good quad )
You may have to wait several months until the end of the summer, cause they like to sell a lot of Avata 2 first, before they will give us the O4 without an quad mounted to it 🫣
@@baggszilla don't write that, people will believe that. Mads words in the last stream, maybe there will be a O4, maybe there won't never be one. DJI will try to get the most people possible to buy the A2. So we will wait several months, if there will be a O4. Last time it was something like 5-6 months from A1 to O3. Good thing is, the O3 works flawless (for me) and the quality is top.
@@philihc I know I'm just joking. I listened to Ian Sunday stream and I heard him saying how people are saying he said that lol I'm perfectly fine with the O3 myself.
I bet you anything the other cameras that are unable to calibrate are probably for that. Off brand Dji started is probably making them you no the one that has the raptor They probably made a run. So if future problems arise, people can still buy them
Its rubbish we cant get just the lens. its literaly a $6 part that we buy a bunch of electronics with including the freaking sensor just to throw the expensive bits away.

This video is absolutely gold. I wonder if there are any other lens that could be fitted, that might provide a different zoom or focal length

Awesome this is great work! I wish they just sold the lens not the whole stupid camera that doesn't even calibrate! Cheers Ian, thanks!
Best 20$ i've spent this year. Thank you!

Great Video 👍👌
You are really rare man. I'm pleasured to follow you, thx.
Thanks for all the info, Ian! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks!
Camera calibration is conspiracy. I enjoy the error message tbh
Right. I think it is related to serial number.. not registered in DJI db. I think we need a hack for this.

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks for your time and making this video
Has not been me yet. Glad i’ll be able to when it comes time.

I had the same question, I have only seen one guy on reddit showing his success but no further updates or info from him
"remove IR filter from matrix"
I already did this myself should of made a video danm lol awell great work my friend 🤙
Was hoping there would be a link to a lens that fits :(. Thanks for the tip on the module though!
Great info! Very good to know.
Great video. Ty
any fix for the core module yet?
Are the DJI 03 lenses 12mm threads?
What about a bit of hot air? I think it will help melting the glue and make it softer

Shoe goo is a better glue because it's rubber and is easy to remove that's just my opinion
Hey Ian, super useful video. Do you know the thread size? Could there be a basic m12 type lens replacement/swap?
Thanks for sharing, cheers!
Is the British pronunciation of adhesive different from American? Like aluminum?
Yeah I noticed that "ah-dhesive" Love you Ian!
I assume this can't be cleared with the camera calibration you do in the DJI software?
Not if it's a AliExpress or Flywoo camera no.
Has anyone tryed to swap the ic from the backside? Just for curiousity. Not saying that its easier than adjusting the focus.
The IC is the gyro. There is no separate processing onboard. DJI is programming the sn from the sensor.
curious if the mount is m12!! (or M8, or whatever mount really)
No it’s a custom mount
Is there an infrared filter behind the lens?
No not that Iv seen.
@@MadRC there is one lad on reddit showing his success in removing the ir filter but no info on how he accomplished it.

If it ain’t o4. I don’t want it #Sold all my DJI o3 gen equipment

But Mad's Tech said O4 will be out in 2 weeks! Huh must of misheard him lol

I’ve been waiting on Ali express for over two weeks now. $11 bucks for the module
use E6000 glue, its perfect for this, i becomes "hard" but stays soft like silicone, easy to remove

bored nothing is fixable on dji ...need legislation to forbideen it !!!
And then compare to the $10 for everyone else's camera. DJI lens is crap, chips and cracks landing in grass.
