I did a speech on Medgar Evers in 8th grade. Nobody knew who he was. But I thank my parents and my Montessori school for showing us the Eyes On The Prize series in class. It gave me information beyond Rosa Parks and MLK. There were so many heroes of the Civil Rights movement that get overshadowed and forgotten.
Sadly that's all we see in school today, Rosa Parks and Dr King

Yes, they were a beautiful couple. Both educated at historic Alcorn State in Lorman Ms. He dedicated his life to helping everyone in Ms have the right to vote. And he was traveling some dangerous roads in Ms especially in the Delta. He didn't just impact change in Ms but across the country. And Mrs Evers picked up his mantle and continued his fight.

The Civil Rights Movement predates the killing of Till. However, the Till murder galvanized the escalations of the Civil Rights Movement.

I’m seeing a lot of foolish comments about Mrs. Reid. Well, it just so happens that I knew her from fifth through twelfth grade. She is a decent human being from an honorable family. I grew up two doors down from her and we walked to school together sometimes. I’m not trying to attach myself to someone famous, I’m just telling the truth about the human being I knew growing up.

I am a 69 year old white Nam Vet. I grew up in a time when is was tough for White and Blacks to be friends and hang out. I lost a few friends and teeth because I thought that was the dumbest thing. There are so few good role models today for any kid. There is hope, that we can one day live in a color blind Society. And I am starting to see that many Black Americans are finding out that the DNC of 2024 is not the same DNC as it was when JFK was the leader. I doubt he would be accepted in the DNC of 2024. I know that family tradition matters to most Americans and Black Americans are no different. That said even though maybe your grandparents or even your parents voted DNC because of the great things JFK did, today's DNC is not the same party as then. If you all look real close the GOP with Trump at the helm is a lot closer to what the DNC was in the 1960's. No hand outs no looking to government. I will never forget watching John F. Kennedy’s inaugural address on our 17" B/W T.V he stated one of the greatest statements spoken by any politician in any party and any country "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your Country" Now i ask you and all 1.2 M subscribers can you imagine any member of the DNC of 2024 saying this?
