Thanks for having her on! As a Democrat, i disagree with her on most things, but she's the type to discuss and compromise, like a normal person. I hold TONS of respect for her(and Adam)standing up for our country, knowing they'll lose their positions, but still did the right thing.

You vote for Biden and you might be having to fight for your own home, because the Democrats have given more rights to squatters, including amongst illegals, than to homeowners. They’ve also done MORE for ILLEGALS than they’ve EVER done for our less fortunate citizens. Trump will deport illegals, and stop power hungry Democrats from taking what’s ours as Americans and giving them to illegals that come here and bring diseases, drugs including fentanyl, crime ( we have enough crime in the USA without theirs, too)
They’re not even grateful to be here…..they have the mistaken idea that we “owe” them that. They get put into very nice hotels, then TRASH them in a week. They also complain about the FREE food they get served. NO grateful person acts like that.

I'm a moderate Democrat/Progressive, there's very little I agree with Liz Cheney about, but I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for her integrity. I fully agree with her about trump, and I'm glad she came on the View to discuss this incredibly important topic. I may vehemently disagree with her policies and opinions, but there's no faulting her for her courage and integrity and loyalty to the Constitution.

I am listening to her book right now. She and I are polar opposites politically but I have more respect for her than just about anyone on this planet. The courage it took to take a stand against all those powerful men is awe inspiring. We need more Liz Cheneys and less Donald Trumps in our world. Thanks for your strength and your bravery.

America is a constitutional republic. It's not a true democracy. Total democracy is not desirable. It is mob rule where a 51% majority rides roughshod over the 49% minority. It's not a good system whatsoever.

The last time there was a domestic political crisis of this magnitude was the lead up to the civil war( 1850s). So obviously no one alive now had that experience.
The assumed peaceful transfer of power has created so many people who took all things for granted. It's part of why so many people don't vote. They didn't need to.

The 2-party system is the best system out there, except for 3+ party systems. 1 and 2 party systems both suck. 1-party system just sucks worse. Ranked choice voting is a start to a better outcome. Term limits for House/Senate/SCOTUS/etc. It's easy to tell these would be helpful to end gridlock counting the number of elected officials who are against these concepts. I would also consider HALVING the paychecks of elected officials, and after their term is over/losing an election, the constituents vote again to determine if the person gets the other half of the income, 50% of the remaining income, or nothing else. Undeserved income goes into the next election's matching funds coffer. Would make representatives a bit more representative, I think. Couldn't hurt to try, anyway.
Much respect Liz Cheney’s courage, a true patriot. I agree very little with her politics, but we all have to come together to ensure we keep our freedom.

Since the Iraq war of which I am a veteran, I have been leary of the Cheney name. I was a lifetime republican until 2016. I don't think I could ever vote for a republican again but what Liz Cheney did was truly amazing. She and Adam Kinzinger stood up to the most corrupt republican apparatus the US has ever seen and said NO. They put their careers on the line and held their ground on country over party and right versus wrong. Think about what that took to do as far as politicians go... noone else in the republican house or the senate would publicly support them and then went a far as to ostracize them, to bannish them from public service as republicans for speaking the truth. Of all the crimes and misdeeds that could ganrner such hatred, it was truth that infuriated the republican machine. Well, I can say that I am a die hard Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger fan from here on out.

I just attended Liz’s lecture in Sarasota, Florida! She speaks with heart to make everyone aware how fragile our Democracy is. I took away from this brave woman an important message that 2024 is our only year to fight for a two party system, not a dictatorship.
The theatre at The Van Wezel was sold out for both time frames and she received several long standing ovations from most all Americans in attendance. Thank you Liz! 🙏
Her courage to sacrifice her political standing for Democracy's sake is powerful and should be commended on the highest levels. A true patriot, no matter the party.

Mad respect for Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. Her book was a good read. One of the passages that gave me the chills was that her father was watching that horrific violence unfold on television that day (J6) knowing his daughter was inside the Capitol. I can't even imagine what that must have felt like for him and everyone else who had a loved one in the building.
It enrages me to no end that those bastards STILL objected to the electoral votes after the Capitol was cleared and they reconvened. I will never forgive them, nor understand the insanity that has gripped the Republicans, especially in congress, because of this self-serving con man.

Okay, buying her book. I love listening to her speak. She's so intelligent, direct, no-nonsense. It gives me hope in our system that she, as a republican, exists and that she, in her position as an American icon, is still sounding the alarm and calling us to take action rather than bury our heads in the sand and hope it all works out somehow.

@@disf5178 well that might be true but the fact remains Cheney was part owner of Haliberton the contracting company that built everything in Iraq and Afghanistan. That was the whole reason we invaded Iraq. I lost my left leg there.

The ignorance is truly astounding, I was a Republican for 40 years, George Bush Jr. turned me Democrat, since then the direction of the Republican Party has been extremely alarming. Don’t think the values and beliefs of the Republicans are limited to just the US, however, if you look at just about any predominantly white country around the world you will see the prejudice, including the U.K.
