Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like there was NOTHING in the base game that hinted to Radahn having anything to do with Miquella, like all signs pointed to Miquella and Godwyn 😭
Literally nothing points to Godwyn. Miquella wishes to usher in the Age of Compassion and requires the soul of someone compassionate as his Consort. Godwyns soul is quite literally dead, although he was loved by everyone while alive he was killed using Destined Death and CANNOT be revived. Radahn however is someone who is compassionate and honorable and as it so happens his soul is alive. So when they are young Miquella and him made a vow, and Malenia invades Caelid to kill Radahn and make him act on his vow
@@Handlehosylerradahn? Compassionate? The man was a traitor who rebelled against his rightful Elden Lord for no other reason than "me cool". Literally Elden Rings version of Renly Baratheon.
so where is the miquella in the 1st trailer floating in by the shadow tree without the veils??? I remember he was pointing to the tree with his hand. Where is that scene???
Pay attention to Radahn's theme at the start of the fight, it's from his 2nd phase of the first battle and that part is meant to represent the sadness of having to defeat a broken and madden warrior who is not himself anymore. It's the same principal here, Radahn is not himself and Miquella has enslaved his soul to do the same stuff Mohg was guilty of doing to him. Mohg is a sick monster but Miquella is even worse and that really says something. In fact I am starting to think that Merika wanted to wipe the board clean because she realized just how badly she messed up regarding her own rule and the raising of her own children. And if Miquella is still terrible, then there really is no hope for the Golden Order.
Not even the whole story. It seems likely now that Miquella manipulated Mohg from the start, in order to achieve his goals, as Mohg is absolutely besotted and obsessed with him. And he is prob also influencing the entire DLC ally gang seen in the trailer.
That's literally it. The despair of one individual being Marika once sbe realised how badly she was being used and how and what her children were plotting led her to shatter the Elden Ring in hopes of removing all that power which only splintered and divided it and made things MUCH worse.
The big question is why radahn? Why his half brother? Could have chosen the tarnished that killed the demigods and god itself. This also proves that the Tarnished can kill the demigods in their prime. Not including the mimic aidded, lore wise tarnished protagonist solo.
Yeah I was expecting Miquella to chose the tarnished too, especially considering he's helped us in the base game. It would have been a nice ending to have the player character and Miquella be together in the end, or at least friends instead of having to kill him
I think because From set the DLC during the main story, and not after. Teorically, you can just kill Mohg and Radahn then start the DLC, so the Tarnished hasn't slayed any other Demigod or God. If they changed the timeline and switched Radahn with Godwyn it could have been the perfect ending: the Eclipse goes wrong, Godwyn's body becomes a puppet of Destined Death, we fight him and in the end Miquella takes us as consort ascending Godhood and creating a new order.
I mean Radahn does have a grab attack that allows him to whisper some shit into you and you'd have a crown looking thing on your head, this needs two happen twice in order for the tarnished to kneel.
My big question is... what was Miquella thinking? - Okay, so he wants Radahn to be his consort. Fair enough; he surely isn't the only guy to have Radahn as his husbando. But when Radahn rejected him, why not go ahead alone or find someone else? If he was just going to mind-control him the whole time, why did he want Radahn's "kindness"? Why did he have to send Radahn to the Land of Shadow and fix him up there, rather than just ascending himself and returning to the Lands Between? - Why did he need to be kidnapped by Mohg to reach the Land of Shadow? Why couldn't he do it in the Haligtree? - Why does he immediately attack the Tarnished without even trying to talk? Charisma is Miquella's biggest selling point, and the Tarnished has resurrective immortality. The only way to get them to back down is to talk them out of wanting lordship, and immediately trying to kill them isn't going to convince them to step aside. Even if he didn't know the Tarnished's capabilities, who sees a random person walk up and decides 'yup, gonna murder 'em'? What if it had been Leda going to visit instead of us? - If the devs were going to give us Radahn with no voice lines, no motives, no characterization, and no Leonard, why didn't they just have Miquella pilot some sort of magic Gundam? He's missing all that goofy charm fans loved from his original fight.
I suspect the following (although it's just speculation): Miquella´s decision to come to the Shadow lands was sanctioned by Marika, under the guise that He was seeking to bring back Godwyn, but this was not possible as Godwyns very soul was dead. Miquella in truth wanted Radhan to be his consort based off a vow they made in their youth, but Radhan rejected this and subsequently Miquella sent Melania to Kill Radhan. He needs Radhan as he is the only true individual powerful enough to be a consort as Godfrey was. That is; Being the force by which Miquella can conquer the world, No other demigod would have sufficed as even Melania was not powerful enough to defeat Radhan while he was Holding back the stars. He then manipulated Mohg , A demigod who was still alive and in a secret hidden location where very few new existed, so he could have Mohg Killed to use his body as a vessel to bring back Radhan against will at the Gates of Divinity. He immediately attacks the Tarnished because we know the truth, hence why Miquella wishes for us to step aside and as we dont, he then attacks us. I also doubt that he can simply just control absolutely everyone at will or else he would have just done that from the start and we wouldnt even have a game. there is likely a criteria by which must be met to be controlled, Hence the bewitching branch which states: The Empyrean Miquella is loved by many people. Indeed, he has learned very well how to COMPEL such affection. Radhan doesnt have dialogue because he doesnt need it. He is being controlled by Miquella likely against his will if he even has a will of his own at all. To me that isnt truly Radhan. He has Omen Horns and can use Bloodflame, indicating he is some amalgamation of Radhan and Mohg, if they gave him dialogue, it wouldn't even be the real Radhan to begin with.
@@joshvanzuydam The Radahn dialogue is a meta complaint; I'm frustrated that the developers chose to create a story in which we see Radahn back, which has the potential to demonstrate a lot more of Radahn's personality, but in which that possibility is closed off by him being a Miquella puppet. And even if Miquella was manipulating Mohg, why did he get Mohg to kidnap him? Nobody in-universe knows where Miquella went or who stole him; even Gideon is surprised to learn. The Tarnished isn't looking for Miquella when they find him, they're exploring, find the creepy cocoon, and suddenly get attacked by a demigod. He could have easily just told his followers; "hey, go kill the creepy blood-cult demigod for me, kthx."
@@theawickward2255 There is a fair amount of evidence to suggest that Miquella may have in part set us on our journey through the lands between, hence Torrent being given to us. So from that end we were always being used to fulfil Miquellas ends, He wanted a powerful enough person to eliminate Mohg as the truth is his followers likely just arent powerful enough. Miquella seems to know of our exploits in the main game even, calling us the aspiring lord of the old order, acknowledges our victory at the radhan festival. also remember that From soft games tend to play on very tragic themes. Showcasing Radhans exploits and great personality likely just wouldnt fit what they are going for i suppose
@@joshvanzuydam Then he probably should've seen the beatdown coming. Again, we're immortal. The only way to stop us is to break our will. Attacking will just make us angrier. And we defeated Mohg and only grew stronger since. Brilliant idea on his part, there. And if he's been manipulating us from the start... most of the cheating and backstabbing was pointless. We'd be much more likely to help if he introduced himself as an ally, since his plans are presented very positively in the main game and 'Hey, I helped get you Torrent' would be a major point in his favor. He also doesn't need to trick us into beating Mohg, just pull a Tanith and offer some good loot for it. Plus, since we don't have to beat Mohg or Radahn to win the game, he's gambling on us being completionists (less so in the latter case since the festivals are repeated and eventually somebody would've got him) instead of just getting 2 great runes, burning the Erdtree, then beelining it to the Ashen Capital for the final boss rush. Plus, if the devs can't handle Radahn being Radahn... why did they use him in the first place?
i agree, i would've liked it more if the boss was either the spectre of Godwyn(because he has some close realationship with miquella) or Malenia (for obvious reason), and i know it won't make it less weird when it's these two is the better choice for his "consort", but we are putting our mind in George R.R. Martin's mind in terms of lore writting. So putting Radhan here...just...makes no sense, maybe it's because how mighty he is in comparison to the other demigods, but it just makes me scratching my head even harder for what's the point of bringing him back, Radhan already had a great lore behind him, don't taint that lore like this.
It makes a lot of sense if you understand Radahn background story. Most people forget about Radahn look up to Godfrey as a father figure not his own father Radagon. You will found a lot of similarities with Radahn and Godfrey. Miquella represents the pet lion like on Godfrey shoulders. So it make sense to put a story together with them.
didnt miquella send his sis to merc radahn but failed? shit didnt work out until pc slammed the zombie. so maybe miquella aimed to do something from a while back tho ngl... i feel he's actually not so wise to even try to 2v1 PC...
Elden Ring doesn't make sense to begin with. Miyazaki doesn't do stories like other people, he focuses mostly on gameplay. He probably saw the uproarious love for Radahn and figured he'd make a good final boss.
Why is no one talking about how legendary you are! You walked in to a fight with Radahn and cast Scarlett Rot on him (giving him PTSD and indirectly telling Miquella you obliterated his sister) AND THEN kicked them while they’re down and used the black knife to chop away at them (the same knife that killed Godwyn the Golden) I love this video. I wish there were another two 😭 but there ain't, just some final bosses of quests in the DLC and that secret frenzied flame boss. No other MSQ endings.
Miquella being all about kindness and gentleness and looking up to Radahn so much entirely makes sense, the dude learned gravity so he wouldn't hurt his horse so behind Radahn's brute force there's a ton of kindness that Miquella would without question be charmed by and it makes perfect sense that he'd look up to Radahn above anyone else. Where it all falls apart for me is that it's made not just a strong alliance but an incestous romantic connection between brothers which is kinda weird, and then secondly that ultimately Miquella just turns out to be cuckoo just like the other demigods and that's disappointing. We ultimately get no answers and no closure and at least for my part i was expecting a LOT of lore in this DLC and a lot of backstory
This kinda feels like a betrayal. I was expecting Miquella to be the actual good guy to bring love and a good ending to the game but we didn't get any of that. I read this on reddit "the boy who only wanted to make the world a gentler place, and the only way to truly help him is to kill him" Man, am I getting tired of tragedies in fromsoft games.
Miquella's version of an "Age of Compassion" ignores the will of every living being in the Lands Between. It's be compassionate or die. "All shall love me and despair!"

On one hand I hate that they didn't let us choose serving miquella and helping him, and I hate we didn't get to see his charming and manipulative skills. And I'm confused af: is miquella good or bad? He is this sweet empyrian that wants to help everyone, st Trina tells you to kill him in order to grant him forgiveness because being a god is a cage... But he uses Mogh to kidnap him so that we may kill him so that he can get his body to revive radahn? Why did malenia kill radahn then? It's confusing. I don't know, everyone was praying this dlc and it's great, but Story-wise... Not so good
Terrible terrible fuckn ending this game doesn’t make shit simple wtf ! Even with this ending the Tarnished seems to be the villain carrying out Marika’s will
It seems the grab attack doesn't "kill" you, rather it applies an old "curse" effect... except it's that Miquella's bewitching ability to compel love makes you surrender. Unsettling.
Yes, you can see the Mimic Tear getting grabbed twice. On the second grab, it instantly dies. When that happens to the player, you instantly die, get a special screen that says "Heart Stolen", and a new Gesture. Miquella's Great Rune only effect is to negate the "curse" applied on the first grab, essentially making every grab Radahn does make no damage.
It would been made more sense if the DLC gave something for Melania as I was hoping to do more with her considering Millicent's quest where she ask us to return her honor or something. Like another way to access the DLC as well is completing Millicent's quest and stab the needle into Melania thus awakening her. Then travel with her to this point just to see what her brother was planning while she toils away. This fight is like the twins fight in DS2 but somewhat lesser
I mean they brought in Radahn why not have the Tarnish bring in Malenia as her "consort" and another ending into the mix feels like the ending was meh and Messmer was just set up as the minor boss cause I was sure as heck he'd be the final boss.

He's quite dead. It showed 'GOD SLAIN', alongside 'Remembrance of a God and a Lord'. The final scene was a memory. The story is so horribly messed up. Miquella set up the whole War of Caelid essentially to r*pe Radahn and have him be his consort, while Radahn wanted no part of that destiny and hence conquered the stars to halt it. Malenia was in on the plan from the beginning (per the Young Lion set), and she nuked Caelid and cursed Radahn so that he'd be killed later, for Miquella to resurrect his soul and in a puppet body. Holy shit. If this is what Radahn was like when he fought Mellenia, that battle must have been truly a sight to behold. Especially since that legendary battle ended in a stalemate... and the destruction of an entire country.
Plus he wasn't at his full power even he was held back because he had to concentrate on holding back the stars. Seems like I may as well not bother wasting my money on this DLC. First Gwyndolin in Dark Souls, then Miquella here, they have a bad habit of making femboys with nice character designs and killing them off. :(
No. Him and Radahn made deal. Radahn ended up corrupted by his great rune and Miquella sent Malenia to recover him. She couldn’t kill him. Miquella was kidnapped in that battle. We eventually kill Radhan’s husk of a body. Miquella uses another body to house Radahn’s soul. Radahn fights for Miquella but loses in the end. So we stop him from saving Malenia, the land, everything. We establish our own order.
The lore implications doesn’t makes sense if we dunk on young radhan how tf did he manage to grow up and fight Malenia??? Like it’s not making logical sense… I’ll have to play the rest of the DLC to understand why we fight Miquella but even then it doesn’t make sense how or why we do so it’s like the only reason I can think of going there is so you can body Miquella so it won’t be any competition for you and the Elden Beast… People make the argument that Godwyn wouldn’t have been a good choice here but it made sense to me if Miquella was to become a god he theoretically could’ve restored Godwyn’s soul or used Godwyn’s vessel for strength but Radhan doesn’t makes sense to me for now as to why Miquella chose him out of all demigods hell Ranni would’ve been a better choice than Radhan…
I realized watching these DLC boss videos where the DLC falls short and why there will be many detractors of the DLC... This game demands players have real motivation of their own coming in. The base game provides clear and COMPELLING objectives and incentives - (a) become Elden Lord (heck yeah), (b) determine the fate or corrective action for the current age (you get to decide who to simp for and the nature of the age of your reign... and they are all fun quests to work toward), (c) so many NPC quests of real substance - some game changing and others yielding awesome equipment or swag. The DLC does not (IMO) have a compelling objective... we've been talking about Miquella for 2 years now, and I don't think most players really care that much - there was some potentially much more interesting lore and additional quests that could have been created in hindsight. I believe that the Miquella related lore and quest(s) were part of the original story but too much to incorporate into the base in the time and $$ alotted. So the DLC is a combination of leftovers and expansions on the leftovers to make it feel like a full and worthwhile game in itself... which it is on many levels, but not in the one aspect that matters most.. "why am I doing this?" - the storyline and the reward for completion is not compelling, IMO. I'm getting almost nothing for my efforts of following Miquella and discovering that he's a manipulative weirdo with delusions of godhood (is "he" even really a "he"... seems much less clear that in the case of his parents) - and I don't care either way about that (actually, I'm kinda ticked that "revelation" is the revelation... most of the lore folks figured that out awhile ago - and again I don't care unless this was going to lead to ER2 The Reckoning or something). Anyway - just venting as I realize that I have to provide my own incentive to pursue completion in the DLC; I suspect it's going to last me quite awhile (I am a completionist, so there's that ;-)
Here’s my thing. Well 2 if you will. As much as I like the idea of prime radahn, why him? Secondly, wouldn’t someone who’s cursed to live in death be a better idea for a final boss? Ya know, shadow realm and all, not to mention I’d love to have fight a version of (godwyn? The dude in Faye’s quest)

Why? In the game we were to become an Elden Lord, which means, the consort of the god, who is the vessel of the runes (or whatever replaces them in the new order). It's we, the character, should be Miquella's consort! Why??

Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like there was NOTHING in the base game that hinted to Radahn having anything to do with Miquella, like all signs pointed to Miquella and Godwyn 😭
Apart the absurd, destructive war against Malenia, the blade of miquella
And Godwin are fucking death, and not a normal one, smites by destined death and gone forever. Ranni screw up this possibility
What points toward Godwyn? I'm out of the loop with some of the lore

Tbh radahn was winning till she decided she wanted to become a nuke💀
Nice headcanon but radahn is not enslaved here.
That's literally it. The despair of one individual being Marika once sbe realised how badly she was being used and how and what her children were plotting led her to shatter the Elden Ring in hopes of removing all that power which only splintered and divided it and made things MUCH worse.
@@UnalloyedRascal I konow its hard to cope, but pay more attention to the game and story mate.
you mean MARIKA
@@robertocantoni8697 Bro why arent you the one writing the story. I would have loved to have that as the ending!
The DLC assumes we've not yet defeated Radagon/Elden Beast
I suspect the following (although it's just speculation):
Miquella´s decision to come to the Shadow lands was sanctioned by Marika, under the guise that He was seeking to bring back Godwyn, but this was not possible as Godwyns very soul was dead.
I think George RR Martin had a heavy hand in writing this DLC.
I don't like that Radahn is Miquella's consort. Also, since when was Radahn part of Miquella's story. This is weird.
i agree, i would've liked it more if the boss was either the spectre of Godwyn(because he has some close realationship with miquella) or Malenia (for obvious reason), and i know it won't make it less weird when it's these two is the better choice for his "consort", but we are putting our mind in George R.R.

This is the lamest fight i've ever seen and the sloppiest way to end a DLC. What a letdown, compared to the likes of Gael and Kos....

Thats not young radahn though. Thats radahn inside mohgs body revived after u killed the rot version of him
@@KcTc344 oooohhh makes sense now still but still why radhan off all Demigods
@@JuniYT miquall was a man of taste
you do realize that that thumbnail spoils the DLC right
I realized watching these DLC boss videos where the DLC falls short and why there will be many detractors of the DLC...
The dude in Faye’s quest)
she has 4 hands huh...reminded me of someone

@@migs192 Miquella appears here as a tall girl instead of in childs body. Pretty much confirms he is like his mother - both Miquella and St Trina.
I was expecting Godwin to be mequlas consort to be honest
He should be the final boss :c
How? Godwin are death, and not in a figurative way
@@nonnolento more accurate the result of death, but surely his soul didn't just turned into dust, it must have gone somewhere, maybe on a different cycle of life and death
I think this perfectly describes Elden ring.
Reused bosses the game
Ok so you definitely didn't play the game😂
Will there be another dlc ? What you guys think ?
I wish there will be. Because this one is mid and they've yet to find a bullshit way to bring Godwyn back (everyone wants him back, if even for a single fight)
most rng fight ever ngl
Bloodborne DLC >
Just facts. I’m not being sarcastic.
REAL
Scarlet blooming radahn even in the alternate reality 😭
Why? In the game we were to become an Elden Lord, which means, the consort of the god, who is the vessel of the runes (or whatever replaces them in the new order). It's we, the character, should be Miquella's consort! Why??
Whoa what was that grab?? I need to look closer
What is the name of the talisman?
I think the idea of fighting a non scarlet rot affected Radhan is an interesing idea, but it shouldn't have been the final boss of the DLC.
The music is still good through.
Are those horns on radan are those mohgs horns
Você sabe que não é o Radahn 100% pois ele nem tentou ressuscitar seu cavalo, mas gostei dele ter voltado
Talk about lore is that mean Radahn conquering the star for Miquella? & for him to become elden lord? 🤨
Nope, miquella is enslaving Radhaan soul for him to be his consort, real Radahn didn't give two shits to miquella
@@rafaeldemouramarinsveracru8402 If this is the case, good i just don't feel this is Radahn at all.. at least from his story & lore, but at the same time, Miquella talk about honoring their vow at the end
@@rafaeldemouramarinsveracru8402incorrect. Radahn explicitly promised Miquella he'd be his consort. Why he fought Malenia is a different story but it was not "Miquella wanted to fuck his older brother so he killed him"

what the fuck are you talking abt
LOL
its funny and fitting you killed him with scarlet rot hahaha
Mohg: “It should’ve been me! Not him!”
Malenia: “I thought I was your favorite sibling…”
Radahn: “cope and seethe losers 🗿”
Radahn stays winning.

Pedahn.
Is miquella dead after this or what?
I changed my mind Radahn as the final boss bro i will take it I enjoyed it.
Is this another time line? How is he still alive there?
miquella is forcibly making him his consort. the dlc needs radahn & mogh dead to progress. So when you killed them both Radahn soul is put into mohg's rebuilt body.
And that's why radahn and malenia fought. Malenia knew about miquella's obsession with Radahn. And radahn wanted to be free.
Elden Ring Fanarts is never saw that coming
I'm love this final boss because this final boss of Elden Ring DLC is my fraviorte
Ya haters always never changed and Radahn Cosort of Miquella is my favourite now 😎
Loyal blade = Malenia ? :)
