It's nice to see someone on such a high
level having some of the same problems
I have even though I never ventured into da
Vinci intimidation love you laugh by the way,
It's amazing you don't have that many viewers wow
    I'm going to steal it
By the way, there's several different
ways how to boot up off the external drive
some are complicated some as simple

I traded in my old M1 MacBook Pro on the M4 Mac mini (base) - I also traded in my M2 MacBook Pro on the M4 Pro MacBook Pro and went for the unbanned, 1Tb SSD, and the 48G memory option. They are just used for different work conditions. I am a Resolve Studio user with both the speed editor and micro color panel. The one thing that people have to realize is that AI functionality is coming and is already there. You almost did the magic mask at the end, but if you also throw in a few keyframes on the same clip, they will bring lesser machines to studder and not handle/play the time line smoothly. The M4 Pro is built for AI. I am waiting for the M4 studio to upgrade my M1 Studio which is my workhorse in my studio. Just looking at this little box and trying to conceptualize that you have one of the most powerful desktop computers. It is a beast. You did a good job of stressing the little guy, but it took it all and never broke a sweat.

@@chrisbogart687 you are so correct AI is here, and having the cpu and gpu to handle tasks is so important. On my original Mac mini m1, a decent magic mask makes the workflow so rough, it limits what I would want to do on the edit. Tonight I am going to attempt a few live magic masks in the timeline. Thank you for the comment

Hi, very interesting video, I would like to ask you if on this timeline you were using optimized media or original files? Thanks for your support 🤙🏻

I use DR and I'm looking to get the same M4 iMac configuration. Glad I came across this video, man!

Good stuff, Matt. I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have an MB Pro M1 Max & an M2 Max... looking to sell/trade M1 and get a Mini 4. U think it's worth the move? What's even sadder is the fact that I have a Mac Pro 2019 FULLY SUPED and it's collecting dust. Wondering what I should do with that M1 though.

I totally understand about an Intel Mac collecting dust. I’m not sure on the differences on an M1 Max vs m4 pro, but I’ll say the noticeable difference in performance from an M1 to M4 pro is really awesome, smoother edits and no performance drops on live streams or virtual presentations. My question would be: are you running into any limits with the performance of the M1 Max?

The more I think about it. I believe the max and ultra has more hardware video encoders than a pro chip (even the m4 pro)

@@mattberrytech Yeah. I'm in a tough place. On one hand I have a $10k machine (Mac Pro) with all of the bells and whistles and it's just collecting dust. I have my MBP M1 Max that I barely use because I use my MBP M2 Max, so thats off to the side. I figured I'd try and sell my Max 1or trade it in to apple and get the Mac mini 4 Pro, but I know that I'd be losing a tad bit when I edit videos on it. I could in fact use the mini 4 pro for other things as well instead of burning out my M2 Max, so that's what I was thinking. I don't NEED an M4 Max since my M2 Max does its job well. Maybe another 2 years, but the value decreases, so thats why I thought about moving my M1. Ok now I can breathe.

Try editing with 6K RAW files and 16 stops of dynamic range, and then we’ll see if it can handle it.
