Welcome to E-commerce Tutorials by BlueTuskr!
Getting a domain directly from Shopify may cost you more than getting it from a third-party site such as GoDaddy, HostGator, NameCheap, BlueHost, Hostinger, and many more. This is one of the main reasons why a lot of e-commerce sellers get domains from a third-party site and not from Shopify. Aside from the domain purchase, you also need to consider the renewal price.
If you also hold a lot of stores, it may be beneficial for you to get it from those third-party domain registrars. When you connect a third-party domain to Shopify, it points your domain name to your Shopify store. So when someone enters your URL into their browser, they’ll be directed to your Shopify eCommerce shop.
In this tutorial, we will walk you through the general setup on how to connect your domain to your Shopify. It doesn’t matter what third-party site is, the process will be the same.

You might want to disconnect or remove it from the old one that you have created and redo the process. Let me know if it works.

What if you bought it from shopify and not a third party website. Then how would u edit your dns. Please i need help for this.
If you purchased your domain directly from Shopify instead of a third-party website, the process of editing your DNS (Domain Name System) settings remains straightforward and streamlined within Shopify's platform. Shopify provides an integrated dashboard where you can manage all aspects of your domain settings. To edit your DNS settings for a Shopify-purchased domain, start by logging into your Shopify admin dashboard. From there, navigate to the "Online Store" section and click on "Domains."
Next, locate your domain name and select the option to manage its settings. Shopify offers a user-friendly interface where you can update DNS records such as A records, CNAME records, MX records, and TXT records as needed. These settings are crucial for various purposes, such as connecting your domain to third-party services, setting up custom email addresses, or directing traffic to specific web servers. Once you've made the necessary changes to your DNS settings, Shopify handles the propagation of these changes across the internet, ensuring your domain functions correctly with your Shopify store and any linked services. If you encounter any difficulties or require specific guidance, Shopify's support resources and help center provide detailed instructions and troubleshooting assistance to help you navigate the process smoothly.
hello there is no domain option under online store what should i do??
did you ever get an answer for this?
Same here this is so annoying
Go into settings and then there should be a domain section there
this can't be done on the shopify's basic version right?
es, you can connect your domain to your Shopify store even with the Basic subscription. Shopify allows all its users, regardless of the subscription tier, to connect an existing domain or purchase a new one through Shopify. You simply need to go to your Shopify admin, click on "Settings," then "Domains," and follow the instructions to connect your domain. This ensures your store has a professional web address, enhancing your brand’s online presence.
Yo I don’t have domain on my Shopify??
I can’t edit DNS A @ in GoDaddy.. please help
I think it’s automatically
what was the solution me niether
Sir it shows verify connection
it says not connected
Mine too. Very confusing. Shopify shouldn't have made this, what for many is the first step, so complicated.
Do you recommend getting an SSL certificate?
Yes u should
@@darthyoda8170 whats that
@@adplays7261 it’s makes your sights secure so it’s HTTPS rather than HTTP, so if your sight isn’t secure is has that thing in the corner saying it isn’t secure, and it deters customers
@@darthyoda8170 ohhh right, thanks so much 🙏
bruh there is no domains button
When I try to connect my domain, it won't let me, says "already connected to a Shopify store".. but I am the one that owns it. And it says I'm NOT connected. Very confusing. Shopify should not have made this so complicated. It was really easy to connect a different domain to my Wix store....
Did u fix it?
Yes same happened
your him
I send the pics to your Facebook page plz check it and help me
