Just listen to the new podcast Cade media dropped about the dude who road from England to South Africa. Went through 6 pairs of ALu hunt rims, decided to buy DT Swiss and then never had a problem the rest of the journey. DTSWISS for the win
I haven't done a live factory tour in a few years. It's enjoyable to see you take us through these. Go check out Industy 9 some time. I couldn't get a tour there. 😂😂
I built a pair of aluminum rims on Campy hubs 30 years ago with tried and true DT spokes and never looked back, never broke a spoke. The trick was to tension the 36 spokes all equally to a middle C note when plucked by hand. The wheels will stay true on the occasional spill. DT shows how it's done, even if done by hand. At the shop, we could rebuild a wheel with a new rim in about an hour. Great video!
I've never had any of their complete wheels, but I have had a good number of their 240 and 350 hubs. Solid products for sure and the 350 series are a good cost/quality product. It was very interesting to see the spoke manufacturing and wheel building process.
I’ve never owned a DT Swiss “complete” wheel set but have always considered their aluminum rims as some of the best options. I’m currently using the XM481 rims on my gravel bike. Yes I know that it’s a mountain rim but it’s super solid as a gravel rim when you are using 700x45 or bigger tires.
My EXP rear hup is too loud. It has a 36 tooth ratchet. I think the single spring setup is louder. Any idea how I can make it less loud? I don't think I can use an 18 tooth ratchet. What is the lightest DT road hub with the 2 spring set up? I have a bike with an 18 tooth, double spring rear hub and it is wonderfully quiet.
My dad has a 240 EXP and that sucker is LOUD. Next time I service it I'm going to cram a reasonable amount of DT Swiss red grease and see if that quiets it down.

I do have, and have had, DT Swiss wheels… excellent build quality, bomber hubs, flawless execution!

😅 Not living far from DT SWISS in Switzerland, but very interesting to see the factory in the States!

Great video. Thanks!
Love videos like this
I need to see more of that Rascal. I hope a review is on the way.
DT is the way to go. Can be expensive but maintained right, you’ll never need to buy another pair.
Neat!
Where are the rims coming from and where are they made, please, you did not say?

Thumbs up
Wish DT Swiss wasn't afraid of wide 29" rims....
