I’d love to go back and explore those tunnels! Wasn’t keen to take the kids too far in haha

The Westport coal mining history is very interesting. Great museum and I loved exploring Denniston. In my opinion, West Bay has the nicest sites for vans at Nelson Lakes. Those pesky sandflies were telling you that rain was close. They're at their 'best' then!😆Thanks of the video . I love the West Coast. I hope you got over the Strait before the ferries started breaking down!

We managed to get home before they started having issues! They have had a bit of a bad run of it lately. I think you are right about West Bay, I always thought Kerr Bay was the best but there is more room around the other side 👍

My grandad (Edwin "Ted" Reece) was a coal miner at Millerton. They lived there 1923 - circa 1933 When Mum was a young girl she and her friends used to walk along the Millerton dam
. She told me that if someone had fallen (nobody did) it was quite a drop!

Wow how interesting! I can’t imagine what it was like to live and work there, those men walked quite far to work up the sides of those huge hills! Must have gotten cold in the winter too. Really interesting part of New Zealand 👍

There is also the famous Gourmet Pie Shop in Blenheim.

That bug spray is harsh for the kids. Mix detol and baby oil together. Works well 👍

Oh good idea! We use the Goodbye Sandfly which is natural and seems to be ok on the kids but that’s a good tip 👍

@@AdventuresWithRosy oh ok, that's a good then. I remember spraying myself with that spray from a can and it was horrible, can't be great breathing it in lol.

Hmm no! Wonder where that is? There didn’t seem to be much in St Arnaud except a petrol station haha
