Such an interesting area to explore, it's well worth venturing further out into the gravel roads across the plateau and some of the other former mine sites. I've spent a lot of time exploring up there and it still draws me back. Fantastic in good weather like that. Interesting to experience in low cloud, high winds and trying conditions like the must have experienced all too often.
I loved my time exploring around Denniston, spent hours there and marvelled at the engineering feat that went into making it all work. Some of the reading was rather somber. You would have to be a special breed of person to survive up there. Great video guys👌
Great footage, such a great spot to explore and experience some of the mining history. I have done many trips up from Waimangaroa while whitebaiting, and there is heaps of stuff further inland as well. Haven't been brave enough to take the caravan up yet.
drone tracking shot is dope!
I know - Greg’s getting really good with his dronage!
We loved it up at Denniston (been twice now in a motorhome). We also stayed at Gentle Annie and it's a real gem!!
Hi guys - yes both places are a great part of NZ!
