I plan to come to prime this June after my 21st. How long does TNT usually last if I get a trainer that wants to run and doesn’t take home time? Love watching the videos and getting all the new info
In theory the truck could run 50,000 miles is around 10 weeks. But that’s unrealistic especially with loads being harder to get right now. Plan on at least 4 months for TNT.
I don't understand how they are hiring with the lack of available loads. I've been nothing but flexible and available, and my settlement this week was -$1,110. There was $500 in oil change, but I still had to pay Prime inc to pull for them last week.
Lol it's happend to me before .... it's all good. But your fans got on my live and was like Tim said there is a hiring freeze. You have a ton of devoted fans
I applied to Prime Inc's paid training and they said they have no available spots, but my name is on a list where they will put me on immediately once a spot opens up. How soon do you think a spot will open up?
I was told by a senior guy a Prime that rn they’re bringing in 40 PSD students per week. I think that’s company wide. Did they tell you how long the list was?
My job just announced for April they think there's only enough work for 30 hrs per person on avg so I figured they might have held off on new drivers even though unrelated Field
Hi Tim, I’m currently in the PSD phase at the Prime Springfield terminal. You mentioned you were looking for another trainee. I’d love to train with you if possible.
@@timtravels116 I believe what he said was that the folks that loaded the trucks were, sometimes, asked by drivers to redo the load as the loading was not legal. The speaker and his group looked at 24 incidents, and found the driver could fix things without any help from the loaders in 23 of the cases. I believe he was saying that the loaders were upset that they were asked to work on redoing the load. Another driver reported that the weight reported on the drive tires was not always correct, and if the load was not legal and DOT stopped them, it was the driver that was hurt. Maybe Prime could have devices that report the weight on all the tires or maybe just on axle groups. This may already be on many of the trucks. Maybe prime should write up a flow chart that walks drivers thru the procedures that they can do. 1) A procedure for how to check the calibration. Maybe just running the truck over a cat scale and compare with the numbers reported by the truck. 2) A workflow for correcting the load with the tools available to the driver. ---------------------------------- Here is one company that works in this area. I did not see prices and they seem to sell a lot more then just weight reporting devices. jv-technoton.com/products/axle-load-sensors/ ---------------------- This is another company and they have a much smaller offering But for a truck and trailer they would only need one device for each at 195 dollars each. "One sensor is required for each leveling valve on each air suspension axle group you wish to monitor. (a typical tractor/trailer will need two sensors total; one installed on the drive axles of the truck, and one on the axle group of the trailer)." But this only works for some trucks. www.appweigh.com/ ---------------------
@@lastlaplogistics8512 I don’t think I’m lazy, but if I still wanted to be loading trailers I wouldn’t have left Estes. Loading it means loading it correctly so it can go down the road legally and safely
@timtravels116 I agree with you on that. He made it seem like we can just roll being overweight. Imagine the conversation with a DOT cop "but my company said it ok to roll" 🤣
This is wild when just a few weeks ago the head of Sales said theyd had to let some team members due to lack of freight...
Jim was here 👍🏻
I'm wanting to start in early June and hopefully I can get right in the training program

No hiring freeze! But now you have to know some buddy to get in lol. Oh and here’s my referral code 😂😂😂

Yeah, I really enjoy the people that watch the channel. Got to hang with a few of them last night in Minooka.

@@fanaticalweeaboo8900 Weekly. Usually it’s Mondays and Wednesdays but I’m unsure if it’s that frequent right now. Might be down to once a week.
"We're not hiring right now" is also a nice way to say "we're not hiring you."
True that.

Hey man I'm at the terminal also. But today's safety meeting was weird specially the guy telling us not to use the CAT scale.
Why did they say that?

The one that really got me "don't bother Shippers when you are overloaded, usually Prime can fix that internally"

Stay safe in that weather!
Wasn’t too bad at the terminal. One of the staff here did come in the lounge and give us a safety brief 👍🏻
I chimed in on the drivers meeting this morning and they said no hiring freeze.
I told the guy that called me they should communicate with the recruiter I spoke with.
The deal with KLLM fell through? ;)
